We booked this as a quick stopover before heading back home, mainly for its supposed proximity to Kunming Railway Station. Turns out it’s about 900m away — not exactly next door — and the stretch in between is lined with pretty sketchy shops. Having to haul luggage through that area in the middle of the night was honestly a little unsettling. Worth knowing before you book. Room itself was clean and cosy. Nothing fancy, but exactly what you’d expect from a budget business hotel — practical and comfortable enough for a short stay. Breakfast was a bit of a letdown though. We came down around 9:30am — a full 30 minutes before the stated end time — and the spread was already running on empty. For a hotel breakfast that’s supposed to run until 10am, the replenishment really should be better managed. Decent for what it is, but go in with the right expectations.

Our stay in Papman in Kunming was handsdown our best hotel experience in China. The staff was extremely attentive and proactive without ever encroaching on our privacy. Kelsy was super helpful with navigating the city - not least because his English is absolutely excellent. The rooms were absolutely fantastic - gorgeous interior design, great layout and fantastic view. The breakfast buffet was also a fantastic experience. Freshly cooked noodles with a variety of toppings was our favourite dish! Thanks again to the entire staff of Papman, you guys were awesome! Wish you all the best!

Hands down the best hotel in the Kunming KMG airport area. You must stay here! I am a huge fan! I live in China and travel through KMG airport often for layovers and have stayed at the Ji Hotel right inside the airport. That hotel is okay (and has the location advantage of being right inside the terminal) but feels very stuffy and many of the rooms have no windows. In many ways that hotel isa broom closet compared tithe DoubleTree 🌳 🌳. The DoubleTree by Hilton blows that Ji Hotel (and most others in the KMG area) out of the water💦! For an extra 10 minute private van ride, the upgrade in conditions is significant and well worthwhile. The lobby is beautiful and the breakfast is a true 5 star masterpiece that has LOTS of options for both western and Chinese tourists, including made to order egg station, made to order noodle station, and an incredible fresh salad 🥗 bar with high quality ingredients (very hard to find in China 😜). The service staff is top notch with great English at check in and very helpful all the way through. The hotel is brand new and everything is sparkling clean. The elevator is very fast and modern and the furnishings are all tasteful and elegant! There are so many free extras that make this an incredible value: -Free Private shuttle in brand new Buick 🚐 van -Free hand baked chocolate chip cookie on check in -2 free bowls of local Yunnan noodles delivered to your room for you -Free Puer tea tasting

Como estaba de paso en Kunming, elegí un hotel de la marca Marriott, relativamente asequible y fiable. La ubicación es excelente. Conduje desde el aeropuerto de Kunming y las carreteras estaban en muy buen estado. El hotel se encuentra en una zona concurrida, con una amplia oferta gastronómica y de ocio en los alrededores. En la planta baja hay numerosas calles de restaurantes y muchos locales de famosos de internet. El hotel es muy nuevo, las habitaciones están impecables y las instalaciones son buenas. El personal de recepción es muy amable y profesional, acorde con los estándares de servicio de un hotel de cinco estrellas. El desayuno es bastante abundante y los ingredientes son de muy buena calidad. El servicio del restaurante también es muy bueno. Además, hay un gimnasio y un bar en la octava planta del hotel. El único inconveniente es que el aparcamiento gratuito del hotel está en la cuarta planta del edificio de aparcamientos, al otro lado de la calle. Es necesario llevar el equipaje uno mismo, lo cual resulta un poco incómodo. Sin embargo, a este precio, el hotel ofrece un servicio tan completo y eficiente, además de instalaciones de hardware. Estoy muy satisfecho. Vale la pena recomendar este hotel.

For an overnight stay to be in close proximity to the airport, this hotel was perfect! I really liked our family room. It was very clean, new and modern. We had a nice view from our room. Complimentary airport transfer was easily arranged at 5am with takeaway breakfast prepared for us. There is no drive-thru for us to alight with our luggages. Our driver had to drive to the basement carpark which was dark and extremely confusing. Then we had to go through a narrow passage to find the hotel lift. Which was challenging with 2 toddlers (5 and 2 years old) and 4 large luggages and stroller. Hotel staff also doesn’t help with the luggage- this can be improved. This was the most challenging part for us.

This hotel is located right inside the Kunming Changshui airport. You have to go to Arrivals exit 5, then catch the elevator that runs from Floor 1 Arrivals to Floor 3 Departures. The hotel itself is at a small desk on Floor 2 between these floors. The hotel is a good quality around a 4 star rating as for its room decorations and is the only official sleeping space actually inside the KMG airport. That said, the hotel wins big on convenience and I would recommend it highly if you have a layover of less than 12 hours. It is pretty hard to beat walking out of your room, pressing a button to go up one floor in an elevator, and being smack dab right in the middle of the airport check-in action. No shuttles, no taxis, no messing with drivers or maps. But half of the rooms have no window (you can pay more for a window) and the rooms feel a bit stuffy as there is no fresh air. The hotel is also in a bit of an administrative purgatory floor that definitely lacks character. They have added some tan hotel carpet here but the Floor 2 Ji Hotel area definitely has a bit of “soulless” airport bureaucrat hallway feel. So you are definitely not getting the”wow factor” of a nice expansive hotel lobby. For that you will need to book another airport hotel that is 3-5km away and has a free airport shuttle. So it just depends what you are looking for. If you are big into convenience and expediency in travel - this hotel is for you. If you are looking for a more classic hotel experience with breakfast, room service, a gym, etc. there are many great hotels in the area for $50-$70 USD per night that offer better amenities and fresher air.

La habitación era grande, cómoda y bien El hotel está situado en el centro de la ciudad, pero hay un Walmart y muchas comidas en la calle. Sé que esta es una semana de vacaciones ocupada, pero el personal debería ser más bienvenido.

Stayed here during my trip from Japan and had a very good experience. The hotel is in a convenient location, and the front desk staff spoke English, which was very helpful for me. Check-in was easy and the staff were polite.Breakfast was better than expected with many international options. I was happy that the food was not too spicy, so it was comfortable for Japanese guests as well.I also tried the craft beer at the hotel bar and really liked it. Overall, a comfortable and relaxing stay. I would stay here again next time in Kunming.

Estilo chino. La habitación es limpia y espaciosa. Me gusta el estilo. El hotel está muy cerca de la estación de metro Erji Road y está rodeado de centros comerciales. En general, es muy bueno.

Amenities, ive rated 3/5 to remain neutral as all we needed was a place to stay to accommodate our family of 5. Now, where do I begin, first of? if you sre arriving at this place via didi or taxi straight from the airport, do yourself a favour and get dropped off outside and walk to the entrance of the ”hotel”. If you get dropped off inside the underground parking lot, Goodluck to your driver finding the spot to drop you off that connects to the hotels' elevator (its a maze and once u get there, it looks sketchy but its alright). Now, for the location: the location is superb! You're legit right beside a large mall with Tonssssss of restaurants to eat at even late at night! It is simply very convenient. And if you dont mind walking, there's another mall down south thats about 15mins walk. Lots of things to do. The lobby, the receptionist were kind and warm. They provided water whenever asked and didn't hesitate to help where they could. The free tea upfront, although we didn't fully utilize, was a nice touch. Now for the room: we selected the largest room they had which had 3 bedrooms. The price? It was insanely good. Almost unheard of. It was between 50-70 Canadian during the time of booking. I couldn't believe it. But not all hotels are perfect, and i have to say some of the things i experienced could definitely be improved. The restroom area had some scent to it that I couldn't point out as to what the smell is. I had to leave the exhaust fan on to ensure a neutral atmosphere. It worked fyi. The living room: is huge but tell me how there's only a 2-3 people sofa available and one small chair and a table. Its a wasted space. It ought to offer a large lounging furniture at this kind of room. It felt bare. The windows: simply put, although they installed windows capable of sound deadening, the weather stripping and the latch simply doesnt bond the gaps efficiently. Meaning, coldness of the night still finds its way. Luckily, the hvac system works and the curtains are relatively thick and also automatic (adjust at will). The beds are ultra clean and the floors were relatively spotless. But there's honestly one thing that is have to think about if I ever decide to rebook. I personally don't smoke, and i requested for a deodorizing treatment for our room prior to coming. The room itself? It didn't smell like cigarettes which was awesome, but here's something I don't see bring possible to address: at night time, while I lay down and sleep, there is a smell of people smoking cigarettes whose odour is somehow able to travel through the air ducts. Like each and every night, it was the same ordeal. My son didn't say anything, my parents inlaw didn't say anything, but my wife and I, yeah we smelled it. It isnt like as if you're beside someone smoking cigarettes, but its more like a scent that goes along with the air in the room that suggest someone had smoked, just unsure when. Other than that, sure, the beds, pillows and comforters were all clean and comfy. Honestly, my family was OK with the room. The convenience and price is really really hard to beat. Like it is extremely beyond belief affordable. Perhaps id reconsider staying here again if we were in kunming. We'll see.
