«I give my highest praises to Home2 Suites by Hilton Dali Erhai. It is a truly fabulous hotel. After spending one day here and another day at a different location on the lake, I actually extended my stay in Dali just so I could return and enjoy this superb hotel again.
From the moment you arrive, the experience is exceptional. A kind gentleman greeted me at the taxi and helped with my luggage immediately. The reception staff consistently went above and beyond, even offering complimentary room upgrades when available.
The rooms are modern, high-tech, spotless, and extremely comfortable. The bed was excellent, the air conditioning worked perfectly, there were no odors at all, and everything felt very clean and well maintained. I usually struggle to find pillows that properly support my neck, but when I asked whether they had memory foam pillows, the staff brought me two amazing pillows (honestly better than my pillows at home). I had one of the best nights of sleep during my trip.
Breakfast was plentiful and satisfying as well. I also used the washing machines during my stay, which were modern and very convenient. There is even a gym directly across the hallway, so you can work out while doing laundry.
The location suited my purposes very well. Only a short didi away from the train station. Across the street is an affordable bicycle rental shop where I rented a high-end international bike in excellent condition. Just one minute away is the best barbecue restaurant I found in all of Dali: Shentan Xianhuo Barbecue. The food was incredible, and the meal only cost me 40 RMB. Aegean Shopping Park is also just around the corner, and the start of the ecological corridor is just a short bike ride away from the hotel.
Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. Outstanding service, excellent facilities, great location, and genuine hospitality.»

Pensamos que sería ruidoso por la noche, pero como es temporada baja, no nos molestó en toda la estancia.
El desayuno es sencillo, pero muy bueno. Importante: hay que llegar temprano. Esto es lo único que no me gustó del hotel. Sirven el desayuno de 8:00 a 10:00. Pero cuando llegué a las 9:30, no quedaba nada. Me prepararon un plato de fideos sin verduras, lo cual fue un poco decepcionante, ya que el desayuno está incluido en el precio. JJovin_WongI had an absolutely wonderful stay at Dali Ancient Town Meishan Guesthouse, and it exceeded my expectations in every possible way.
Location – unbeatable and worry-free
The location is extremely convenient, right in the heart of Dali Ancient Town. As soon as you step outside, you’re surrounded by beautiful ancient streets and alleys, full of local character. 2-3 mins walk away from the Bars. Attractions, cafes, shops, and amazing food are all within walking distance, which made exploring incredibly easy and stress-free. From check-in to check-out, the entire stay felt completely worry-free.
Service – warm, genuine, and unforgettable
The biggest highlight of this guesthouse is without a doubt the host. The lady boss is unbelievably friendly, considerate, and welcoming. She is super nice, enthusiastic, and very meticulous in everything she does. From contacting me in advance, patiently explaining routes, to sharing travel tips and local suggestions, she made me feel taken care of even before I arrived. Staying here truly felt like coming home rather than staying at a guesthouse.
What made this stay truly special was the personal connection. She even invited me to join a barbecue with her and her friends. We had drinks, chatted late into the night, and shared stories about our cultures, life views, and experiences. Even though I only stayed for two nights, that evening made my time in Dali unforgettable. I felt incredibly lucky to have arrived back just in time for the barbecue.
The Bai Jiu, the Yi Zu-style barbecue pork, and the homemade dumplings she made were all fantastic. The atmosphere was relaxed, warm, and full of laughter. Even small details were fun, like the pot cover shaped like the Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy, which gave us a good laugh. It was one of those nights you don’t plan for, but it’s the highlight of the trip that you will remember for a long time. 😎
Room & Sleep Quality – quiet, comfortable, and well designed
The room itself was quiet and very comfortable, with good sound insulation and a thoughtful renovation design that blends modern comfort with traditional charm. The bedding was clean and high quality, and the bathroom was spotless and well equipped. I slept extremely well every night. The entire guesthouse is beautifully designed, cozy, and relaxing, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploring.
Value – exquisite and worth every penny
This is a highly cost-effective and exquisite accommodation. You can see the attention to detail everywhere, from the design to the service. It perfectly balances the charm of the ancient town with modern convenience. It’s absolutely worth experiencing, and I would not hesitate to stay here again on my next trip.
Final thoughts
I returned home a few days ago, but when I think back on my trip to Yunnan, Dali still stands out as the most chill and relaxing place and Meishan Guesthouse is a big reason why. The friendly host, the warm atmosphere, and the meaningful conversations made this stay truly special.
If I could give 11 stars, I would. Hands down one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Highly, highly recommended. Will definitely be back!!!

Yes, a disadvantage being remote from the city areas (not walkable), but if you want to enjoy the serenity of waking up right by the lake, this is a great choice! I loved how our first-floor room had a view of the lake - very close by! Also, you can see the sunrise from this side of the lake! Very peaceful in the mornings.
We coordinated with the guesthouse via Wechat beforehand, and they even helped arrange a complimentary pickup with a driver from the train station (since we were staying 3 nights). Later, we also arranged a full day with the driver to drive down Haidong (east side) from Shuanglang ancient town and southward, which was worth it, since otherwise it'd be hard to get to those locations. Cars cannot come to the guesthouse area, so the guesthouse drove a little cart to pick us and our luggage up; they also helped us when we departed. Didi from this area (from a spot ~100-200m away) takes a bit of time for the drivers to come in, but not too long.
The breakfast was lightly spicy mi xian noodles, served by some aunties, with condiments like pickled vegetables, also corn, hard-boiled eggs, and banana available.
I would also recommend taking time to bike along the lake - it seems there's an option to rent one for 20RMB somewhere but I couldn't find the location. A more convenient option (good for shorter bike rides) are the many shared bikes that can be scanned along the lake. If you go northward by foot or bike along the lake, there are many other guesthouses and nice cafes (including some very popular, picture-perfect wang hong cafes), along with some green fields that are nice to check out.
Behind the guesthouse is a small village area; we walked here and got a late lunch on one of the days, but there doesn't seem to be as many options.
Traveled here with my mom, and we were quite satisfied. I feel that relaxing inside the hotel and nearby is already pretty nice. Great stay with helpful staff!

Xxiaoxiao0901Su casa se encuentra en el callejón junto a la comisaría de policía en la ciudad antigua de Dali. Si reserva más de tres noches consecutivas, puede organizar un traslado al aeropuerto (solo ida). El personal de limpieza es muy atento y le preguntará con un día de antelación sobre las necesidades de desayuno del día siguiente. El desayuno se sirve a las 8:30 de la mañana y se puede entregar en la habitación a más tardar a las 10:30 de la mañana.
Las instalaciones generales de la habitación son muy completas. También hay una lavandería en la primera planta, y la lavadora tiene función de secado. Es muy conveniente para quienes están en viajes de negocios largos o desean quedarse por un tiempo prolongado.
Su casa está relativamente cerca de la Puerta Erhai de la ciudad antigua de Dali y se puede llegar directamente a pie. El hotel cuenta con un autobús lanzadera que también puede llevar a la Puerta Erhai o a la Puerta Cangshan de la ciudad antigua.

La habitación era muy espaciosa y el amplio balcón era perfecto para disfrutar de la vista durante todo el día. Todo estaba limpio y cómodo, y los ventanales hacían que el paisaje fuera aún más impresionante. Recomiendo encarecidamente este hotel a cualquiera que busque una escapada relajante junto al agua.

Wwendy_****El hotel tiene una ubicación excelente; se puede tomar un taxi fácilmente sin tener que caminar con el equipaje, y además está a la vuelta de la esquina, en la calle Renmin del casco antiguo. El joven personal que nos recibió fue muy amable y nos ayudó con cualquier problema. El café y el té eran ilimitados, y los recuerdos que recibimos al hacer el check-out fueron preciosos. El único inconveniente fue que las instalaciones de la habitación estaban un poco anticuadas y el baño era pequeño.

UUsuario invitadoEl personal fue muy atento y respondió a todas nuestras preguntas, lo que nos ayudó a evitar muchos inconvenientes. La posada está muy cerca de la ciudad antigua, a solo 3 o 4 minutos a pie, lo que hace que sea muy conveniente para ir a cualquier parte. La habitación era muy acogedora y limpia. Los artículos de tocador parecían ser de Shiseido, no de esos champús y geles de ducha de mala calidad. En general, nuestra estancia fue muy satisfactoria.

KKN1311We took a Didi taxi from Dali High-Speed Railway Station to Huafang Guniang Bar (Flower House Girl Bar). Normally, the trip takes about 45 minutes, but because of heavy traffic, it ended up taking us around 90 minutes. When booking a Didi taxi, it’s important to be careful with this destination since there’s another place with the same name in Lijiang city. Also, it’s better not to use “Bu Xian Shan” as the destination, because this can confuse the driver.
When we arrived, the guesthouse staff, Zhou Zhou and Xiao Peng, were already waiting for us. They kindly guided us to the guesthouse by walking which was only about a three-minute walk away. They even helped us download an English version of the local map, Amap which was really thoughtful and made it much easier for us to get around. On top of that, they told us about local activities and food options, which was super helpful.
The guesthouse has a really great location. It’s very close to Yu’er Road, which is one of the busiest and most popular streets in Dali Ancient City. Other well-known nearby streets include Renmin Road, Fuxing Road, and Huguo Road, which is also called Foreigner Street. Being so close to these main streets makes exploring the city really convenient.
There are plenty of restaurants near the guesthouse, so you won’t have trouble finding somewhere to eat. Some of the nearby places even offer BBQ, which is really convenient if you want a casual meal without going far.
The room that we booked was big and had a spa and mountain view. Unfortunately, the built-in jets that created massaging, bubbling streams were not working.
There was a free-wifi but the signal was weak in our room.
