The room is just at level 2 near the lobby. Pretty near to the train station and also walking distance to many attractions. The toilet was cool with 2 bathrooms and 2 separate dry toilets. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are total 5 bunk beds enough for total of 12 people to stay. Though the free space might be limited to accommodate many luggages. Might keep the clothes in the locker space (where the blanket and pillow was originally kept). We specifically like the free selection of drinks available at the lobby area. There’s free laundry available with dryer only for TWD 10 for 20mins (which is so much cheaper compared to Taipei). A very nice solace to stay :)

The hotel is situated on a quiet street yet remains in a central area of Taichung City, offering the best of both worlds. Public transportation is easily accessible. The customer service was excellent, with clear and helpful explanations provided during check-in. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Nos gustó bastante el hotel, cerca de la estación de tren y del autobús que teníamos que coger para ir al Sun Moon Lake y al parque de atracciones aborigen que hay al lado. El desayuno correcto, aunque no vendría mal un poco más de variedad de comida no china (que por otro lado me encanta). Todo correcto.

Ubicación: está ubicado frente al tren local Taichung, no hsr taichung. Pero es muy fácil acceder usando el tren local desde hsr taichung/Xinwuri hasta el tren local taichung. Hay muchas tiendas de conveniencia cercanas y dos tiendas vegetarianas ubicadas cerca del hotel y la otra justo en un pasillo al lado del hotel. Servicios: regala un poco de té y café. Proporciona calentador de agua. Secador de pelo incluido. Toallas proporcionadas. Algunos autoservicio pueden llevar del mostrador una afeitadora de un solo uso, un cepillo y pasta de dientes y calzado de interior. Stayed here from 10 Apr to 14 Apr. It is about 10-15mins walk Taichung Railway station. The hotel is within the central district of Taichung (buildings are older here), but the hotel itself looks and feel relatively new and modern. It is conveniently located near lots of food options, and the Taichung Second Market and Miyahara is only about 5-10mins walk away. The room is clean and spacious. It has a nice modern design too. The basic amenities such as shampoo, shower gel, lotion and hairdryer are provided. Can’t seem to find local channels on the TV but you can use apps like netflix and youtube. The hotel also provides complimentary breakfast, tea time (if i recall correctly) and supper. The variety is acceptable given that this is not a big hotel. food is decent too. For breakfast there was a mini salad bar, porridge station, various steamed buns, toasts. For supper, there were braised minced meat rice and side dishes, soup, DIY noodle station, steamed buns, toasts, DIY beancurd station, some snacks/tidbits. There is also dessert with red/green bean soup, drinks and ice cream. Just one minor hiccup - a false fire alarm was trigger at 4am on one of the nights which only affected the higher floors from 9th storey and above. The guests on our storey werent aware if the lift is working or if it is safe to use and we ended up climbing the stairs down, only to find out later that there was no real fire. The affected guests waited at the lounge for about 30mins as the alarm was still ringing. The firemen eventually came and turned off the alarm. The hotel did apologise for the inconvenience by pasting a notice in the lift and informed guests to reach out to them if there are any queries. It would be nice if the hotel can engage the affected guests more directly and possible provide some form of compensation as service recovery. Nonetheless, still a pleasant stay overall!

Cerca de Miyahara y el segundo mercado. Habitaciones pequeñas y sonido-protectoras son sólo buenos, pero grande valor por dinero. Snacks de tarde gratis! El hotel está situado a 3 noches, a 5 minutos a pie de la calle de Yizhong, a 5 minutos a pie de la calle de Yizhong. La única negativa que puedo pensar es que tendrás que duchar en el baño (no hay zona de ducha separada fuera del baño), que puede no ser adecuado para los ancianos. I love the whole vibe of the hotel where it give off this rustic industrial look but the interior of the room is really nice. Front desk was super accommodating when we wanted to upgrade our room but the initial upgraded room was not to our liking and they kindly suggested another room for us to have a look first before we decide on it. we were able to check in an hour earlier as well and was able to keep our luggage at the front desk after check out and return back later to collect. overall an amazing experience with SOF hotel and would definitely come back to stay when im in taichung again

I recently spent two nights at The Metro Hotel (豪爵大飯店台中館) in Taichung, and overall, it was a very practical, comfortable, and well-situated experience. Located right on Wuquan Road in the West District, this 3.5-star property strikes an excellent balance between affordability and convenience. If you are looking for a reliable base to explore the city, here is a detailed breakdown of my stay.  The room was spacious, exceptionally clean, and featured a nice view of the surrounding city. The bed was on the firmer side but very supportive, providing a great night's sleep after long days of walking. A major highlight for me was the climate control. I absolutely need a cool sleeping environment and always set the thermostat to 21°C; thankfully, the room’s air conditioning was powerful and maintained that crisp, chilly temperature perfectly throughout both nights.  There are two minor caveats to the room: • Electrical Outlets: There are very few power outlets available. If you have multiple devices to charge (phone, laptop, power banks), I highly recommend bringing a small travel extension cord.  • Soundproofing: While the room itself was peaceful, the door soundproofing is a bit lacking. You can occasionally hear other guests in the hallway or neighboring doors closing.  The hotel provides all the essential basics without overcomplicating things. The bathroom was roomy with great water pressure and came stocked with standard toiletries. A huge plus for travelers is the self-service laundry room located on the 5th floor. The front desk staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful with luggage storage. It is worth noting that they strictly enforce their 4:00 PM check-in time—you generally cannot get into your room a minute earlier—but they do offer a generous 12:00 PM check-out, allowing for a relaxed morning.
