I write with much disappointment on your lapse in hotel service. I checked in on 3/12/25 and my son caught a cold. I was at the hotel lobby at 1.5hrs earlier requesting for a check in but it’s allowed. My son and I were left to rest n sleep at the lobby. No one came to us or any empathy shown at all. The next day as my son was unwell n resting in the room, there was dragging sounds that can be heard from the room which lasted for about an hour plus. I called the reception and was told that there is no guest staying above my room 701 nor beside us. My hair stands and immediately requested for a change of room. Without empathy, the reception told me that it could housekeeping upstairs. I was even more puzzled n worried why is there housekeeping where there is no one staying above my room n beside my room? The reception mentioned that they will check again even though I requested for a change of room a few times. Finally, a lady who came to ‘help me’ change room. She given me a doubtful expression and asked me if the dragging sound is still there with no empathy. Thankfully after she asked, there are dragging sounds are heard. She was standing in my room to only see me scramble to pack my things with no apology or empathy. To make things worse, she asked me what time I want to have my breakfast the next day. I really do not appreciate the question when I busy packing my things to a new room. I was later told by the in charge for that day named Connie that the staff are trained not to help guest with their luggage. So is this the reason to show no empathy to your guests by asking the guests' breakfast timing? The lady brought me to third floor but I do not feel good at the walkway as super dark and eerie feel and requested for another room. On my final day staying at the hotel, I was given a call half an hour before 11am to ask to check out of the hotel. I had never encounter such thing before. It then brings me the question whereby if your check in time is 6pm and your check out time is 11am, why then there is a need to rush guests out of the hotel? The hotel will have ample 7hrs for housekeeping. Also, if the room beside my room 701 n above unit has no guest staying, why is it that I cannot check in early on the day of arrival on 3/12/25 where my son is not well? Even more shocking to me, during checking out of the hotel, I was given a document saying that I purchased laundry item which I did not. Imagine if it’s a confidential document that the staff reveal to a wrong guest? This is totally not professional. I requested for the names of staff and the email for me to feedback to the management but they are not willing to do it. I was standing at the front counter in the cold wind for 10 minutes requesting for it. It's really ridiculous! Later, the in charge that day named Betty finally succumb to my request but repeat rudely her name to me. It's such a shame that the hotel is such a good location but I will seriously reconsider or even recommend anyone to stay in there again I hope to hear from you on the above mentioned. Thank you.

The hotel is situated on a quiet street yet remains in a central area of Taichung City, offering the best of both worlds. Public transportation is easily accessible. The customer service was excellent, with clear and helpful explanations provided during check-in. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

The room is just at level 2 near the lobby. Pretty near to the train station and also walking distance to many attractions. The toilet was cool with 2 bathrooms and 2 separate dry toilets. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are total 5 bunk beds enough for total of 12 people to stay. Though the free space might be limited to accommodate many luggages. Might keep the clothes in the locker space (where the blanket and pillow was originally kept). We specifically like the free selection of drinks available at the lobby area. There’s free laundry available with dryer only for TWD 10 for 20mins (which is so much cheaper compared to Taipei). A very nice solace to stay :)

The first day we arrived there was a city cleaning and so there were so many cockroaches on the first floor but the staff was trying to clean it and it's not their fault. The rooms are very spacious and nice. Breakfast also included and very delicious. (The fries are the besttttt) Tho you have to walk a bit to another hotel, the aunty there is really nice! They no longer provide you plastic amenities but i guess that's for every hotel in Taiwan. Overall a really nice place to stay!

Stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, location is within 5mins walking distance to Family Mart, different eateries and bus-stops. It is also within 15mins walking distance to Yizhong Street. The only possible negative I can think about is that you will have to shower in the bath tub (there's no separate showering area outside of the tub), which may not be suitable for elderlies. Other than that, we really loved the relaxing ambience of the hotel. Would recommend.

Had a pleasant stay at Tea Way Hotel in Taichung. The location is very convenient. There are plenty of convenience stores, restaurants, and popular attractions nearby, which made our trip even more enjoyable. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a cozy bed that helped us rest well after a full day of sightseeing.

The room is as described and shown on the pictures. I gave a 4 for cleanliness as on first night, I found hairs on the bed & a hole on the bath towel. I reported to the staff via LINE (in Taiwan they use mainly LINE to communicate). They quickly took action and offered to change the bedsheets and clean the room. As I stayed for a week, they scheduled a housekeeping on day 4 of my stay. The soundproofing is not the best but if needed earplugs are provided in the room. It was the winter in Taiwan when I was there so having a hot shower is important and the hot water is available. I like that there is water dispenser at each room level, rubbish and recycling bins are located outside so it is convenient. The location of the inn is about 15 minutes walk from the Taichung Train Station. If you are carrying large luggage, advise to take a Uber. It is near to 一中街 (yizhong street) where you can find many shops, food, etc. From the inn, cutting through the open space carpark, you will be at the shopping area. As a female solo traveller, at the start I was a bit concerned of the location of the inn. The entrance to the inn is in a alley, next to a bistro bar. You need the access card to enter the inn so that is find, just make sure it is lock after you enter. The front desk only operates from 11 am - 10:30 pm. There is an emergency hotline number to call for afterhour service. Using LINE to communicate with them is easy. There's a cafe next to the inn where you can have breakfast with discount by showing your room card. If you want to travel to places, there are many buses. If not, it is easy to get Uber. For first time traveller to Taichung, he/she will not be aware that toilet paper cannot be thrown into the toilet bowl, so it is good to have a sign to show that. Overall, the staff are friendly and helpful. For the price, it is value for money.

Stayed here from 10 Apr to 14 Apr. It is about 10-15mins walk Taichung Railway station. The hotel is within the central district of Taichung (buildings are older here), but the hotel itself looks and feel relatively new and modern. It is conveniently located near lots of food options, and the Taichung Second Market and Miyahara is only about 5-10mins walk away. The room is clean and spacious. It has a nice modern design too. The basic amenities such as shampoo, shower gel, lotion and hairdryer are provided. Can’t seem to find local channels on the TV but you can use apps like netflix and youtube. The hotel also provides complimentary breakfast, tea time (if i recall correctly) and supper. The variety is acceptable given that this is not a big hotel. food is decent too. For breakfast there was a mini salad bar, porridge station, various steamed buns, toasts. For supper, there were braised minced meat rice and side dishes, soup, DIY noodle station, steamed buns, toasts, DIY beancurd station, some snacks/tidbits. There is also dessert with red/green bean soup, drinks and ice cream. Just one minor hiccup - a false fire alarm was trigger at 4am on one of the nights which only affected the higher floors from 9th storey and above. The guests on our storey werent aware if the lift is working or if it is safe to use and we ended up climbing the stairs down, only to find out later that there was no real fire. The affected guests waited at the lounge for about 30mins as the alarm was still ringing. The firemen eventually came and turned off the alarm. The hotel did apologise for the inconvenience by pasting a notice in the lift and informed guests to reach out to them if there are any queries. It would be nice if the hotel can engage the affected guests more directly and possible provide some form of compensation as service recovery. Nonetheless, still a pleasant stay overall!

Room was clean and amenities were ample, bed is comfortable and location is convenient. But I didn't like that the shower hot water wasn't always hot, especially on the morning of my check out day :( Also, the room lights control panel was a little too bright making it hard to get total darkness for sleep in the room.

Assistance is barely available. I stayed there 5 nights and went in and out of the hotel multiple times everyday but I only saw the receptionist at the front desk once when I checked in. I called a few times the front desk from my room but it is answered also only once. I eventually complained to the receptionist when she eventually showed up knowing I’m furious at the lobby. Upon communication, I got to know that one single receptionist is responsible for assisting the entire hotel having roughly 100 rooms while serving the reception role. How stingy the management can be?! Overloading a frontline staff with frontline communication and room services?! This is especially frustrating when I need help to fix the WiFi as a business traveller staying in a business hotel. The WiFi is instable and dropped off twice within half an hour on 2 days, which is a disaster for my real-time work. The receptionist did try her best to spend 45 mins to help, which I appreciate, but the hotel needs a better router and/or network provider. Eventually I used my own internet data instead. How pricy! The plug can’t charge my phone. Overnight, the battery goes from 7% to only 40%. The mat has a lot of stain on it. It doesn’t smell but looks unpleasant.
