Pros - Astonishing view - I had both dinner and breakfast in the hotel and both are delicious - Staffs are dedicated to serve - so despite the language the overall experience is still very enjoyable Cons - It surprised me how little English the staff can speak, especially in the restaurant (I don't normally complain about this in Japan but this is a Marriott...) - The shuttle bus service is a bit off... Last bus from station to hotel is before 19:00 and the information is so hard to find

Gracias por su ayuda. Hubo una pequeña discrepancia entre los detalles de la reserva y los preparativos del hotel, pero lo corrigieron rápidamente (aunque no creo que esto debería suceder nunca). La zona del desayuno estaba bastante concurrida. Sería bueno si pudieras preguntar con antelación tu horario preferido y tener un horario establecido. Era estilo buffet, pero había varios contenedores de comida vacíos. También hubo momentos en los que te hicieron esperar y el personal te dijo: ”Lo prepararemos de inmediato, así que por favor espera un momento”. La congestión era de esperar. El personal estaba ocupado y hacía muchos ruidos al retirar los platos, lo cual era molesto. La gente a mi alrededor estaba disfrutando del desayuno, así que desearía que fueran considerados. Esto no es diferente de una cadena de montaje en una cafetería. ¿Realmente no puedes compararlo con otros hoteles? ¿Cuales son sus expectativas para un hotel? Siento que no se trata sólo de la cantidad que pagas.

What we love: The onsen, the nightly free happy hour, and the amazing breakfast Location is pretty good. Nice lakeside views, near the old town, and quiet. If you drive, there is ample parking but it does get quite full when we were there mid Dec 2024, this means more locals visit than tourists. We used it as a base for visiting nearby ski resorts such as GranSnow and Biwako (roughly 60-90mins drive). It's about a 10-15min drive to the city centre where you can find an abundance of food and shopping! The room is quite spacious, has a great view of Lake Biwa, and generally comfortable and cosy. The breakfast is fantastic, quite a spread although I wished they changed some of the items more frequently. The onsen is big, and we enjoyed it every single night. The best was the homemade barley drink they served-simply Oishi! Not to mention a nightly nightcap of free booze, soft drinks and snacks available at the lobby from 7pm till 10/11pm. Nice way to wind down. This hotel has a old-style, somewhat luxe, chillout, laid-back vibe, where you can really hang out if you like, at your own pace. Highly recommended.

Caro pero lo mas barato para la fecha en la que reservé. No hablan mucho inglés pero amables. La habitación parecia reformada de hace poco. Para vip tienen la cafeteria todo lo que quieras hasta las 20:00 gratis, dentro de la habitación también tienen bebidas, cerveza, cafe etc incluidos y dos pequeños dulces japonés. Aunque me hubiera gustado que trataran un poco mejor nivel atencion al detalle o peticiones para vip por el precio que pagué (cumpleaños, luna de miel etc) Desayuno también me hubiera gustado que ofrecieran algo mas fruta, pan, dulce..

This is my second time at Biwako Ryokusuitei. My husband and I first stayed there in 2022 and we were so impressed with the service that we brought our family there again in 2024. We really enjoyed the convenience of bathing in the onsen in our room and the dinner and breakfast was as superb as we remembered it. Special mention goes to the kind driver who sent us to Sakamoto Cable Car when we checked out. He went out of his way to bring us to the train station to check whether there were any empty lockers available for our hand luggages and tried his best to communicate with us in English to recommend places to go and restaurants to try. His kindness and joviality stayed with us until we returned to Singapore and is something that we still talk about today. Thank you to everyone at the Ryokan for making it a memorable trip for my family and I!

いつもお世話になっています。今回はオリーブの方へ宿泊させて戴きました。残念なことにこちらではいつものドリップコーヒーがなかったのと、パジャマのズボンがなく上着だけでした。次回からは確認して宿泊しようと思いました。

10년만의 가족여행이었는데 정말 최고의 숙소였습니다! 특히 5층의 노천탕이 정말 멋있고 좋았어요 동생이 생선요리를 먹지못해서 사전에 말씀드렸더니 모두 대체요리로 제공해주셨습니다. 한국어를 하실줄 아는 직원분이 두분정도 계셨고 모두 친철하셨어요 다음에 또 방문하고 싶습니다. 최고의 크리스마스였어요!

Los agentes son muy buenos y tienen autobuses de transbordo a la estación JR. Sin embargo, los turistas extranjeros con tatuajes deben tener en cuenta que no pueden utilizar el baño público, pero quedarán sujetos a la tasa de servicio.

It was a great stay at this ryokan! The hotel is able to arrange a car to fetch you from the JR station. You can call them using a dedicated phone at the station which is used to contact the different ryokans. The car arrived in 10mins or so. The ride to the ryokan was also less than 10mins. The hotel also fetched us to the station on the last day of our stay. The ryokan itself is homely and cozy. We were greeted by an english speaking staff who introduced us to the amenities of the ryokan. There was also a nice welcome tea and matcha chocolate. Our bags were brought to our room as well during this time. The room is spacious and cozy. The hotel prepared 2 welcome biscuits in the room which was a nice personal touch. The room has a nice living room and a great view of Lake Biwa. Recommend to catch the sunrise over the lake! There are 2 normal beds as well as futon beds (need to set up yourself). Both are comfortable. The hotel also prepared pretty yukata for both female and male guests which you can wear during the stay. There are 4 different designs for ladies, and one design for the guys. You can request for different size if the one in the room doesn’t fit you. There is also a full length mirror and a mini dressing area at the side of the living room. It was fun dressing up in the yukata! The toilet, basin, shower and hot tub areas are all separate. The toilet is a little small, but the basin and mirror area is very spacious. The shower area is quite small as well and the shower head is rather low so you need to hold the shower head if you wish to wash up while standing. There is a small stool given for you to sit down though. The hot tub area is semi-outdoor and you can see Lake Biwa. But it is quite small (only good for one person). It was too cold so we didn’t use the hot tub. Instead, we booked the private onsen for 50mins. The private onsen has a private toilet and dressing area which is equipped with hairdryer, body lotion etc. There is a water dispenser as well if you need to hydrate yourself. The onsen area has a washing area, and the hot tub area is spacious for 2 person. There are privacy screens around the onsen area but there is a small gap to let in cold air for ventilation. Wish there is a good view from the private onsen but it was still enjoyable! Dinner and breakfast was Kaiseki style, and the meals were one of the highlights for my husband and I. We really enjoyed the courses which are clean tasting yet wholesome, fresh and flavourful. It was such a sumptuous treat! The ryokan also has a souvenir shop if you wish to buy anything back. Overall, my husband and I really enjoyed the stay here and we agreed this was one of the main highlights of our 12 days trip in Japan. Highly recommend!

The landlord is quite friendly, and we felt at home staying at this Japanese style building. The price is quite reasonable! Oh no the house is old, it is a cozy leaving place!

飯店服務及設施（若要使用湯元館的湯，要加700日圓）很棒；一停好車，服務人員馬上前來引導入住，並換好室內鞋即在休息室，觀看完「全館介紹短片」一目了然。 是間有點年紀但重整的溫泉會館，沒有電梯，但最多爬到3樓。CP值很高！ 早餐非常豐富用心料理，你可以吃到道地又有創意的懷石料理。 唯一的遺憾，晚餐的涮涮鍋的肉，不是近江牛！但所有食材及色香味俱全每一道菜都值得細細品嚐！ *緊鄰的琵琶湖是必去景點，依時間寬裕程度，自行搜尋有興趣的景點。

Muy buena habitación, muy buen servicio, muy buen desayuno. La belleza es insuficiente, y la luz de la habitación no es muy buena, y los amigos que se preocupan pueden tener lágrimas. Además, es mejor comunicar el tiempo antes de quedarse, sin comer la puerta cerrada.

La estación está muy cómoda cerca de ella, el estacionamiento es gratuito, el precio es razonable, hay muchos restaurantes cercanos, por lo que no se sentirá molestado. Este es un hotel que se puede disfrutar de una vida privada.
