It was a stressful moment, but the deputy manager, Lebo, handled everything with such professionalism, care, and genuine concern that it completely changed our experience for the better. She immediately called an ambulance and ensured we were comfortable! Lebo went above and beyond to assist us, ensuring we were comfortable and well-looked-after, and even upgraded us to make our stay easier during the circumstances as our rooms were a distance from my parents! Her compassion and quick action made a huge difference, and we are incredibly grateful. Despite the incident, the level of service we received—especially from Lebo—was outstanding. Riverside Sun is lucky to have someone like her on their team, and we’ll definitely return because of the exceptional care we received."

"Fransa and her team are absolutely wonderful. They go out of their way to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. Breakfast is included, plentiful, and prepared to order every morning. The rooms are large, clean, and well appointed. The gardens are beautiful and the location is quiet and safe, about 20 min south of Johannesburg. I visit at least 4 times per year, and I am always impressed. I would highly recommend this Country House to anyone visiting the Joburg area."

"I am writing to formally raise a complaint about my recent experience at The Waterfront Country Lodge. During my visit today the 26 February 2026 time 16:30 pm, I ordered a T-bone steak. Upon receiving the meal, I discovered that the steak was rotten. I immediately brought this to the attention of the staff. While the meal was voided, I was not offered a replacement dish or any alternative option. Instead, I was informed that it was the kitchen staff’s lunch time, and as a result, I was left without a meal and had to leave the premises. I find this situation extremely concerning for two reasons: The serious issue of serving spoiled food, which raises health and safety concerns. The lack of appropriate customer service in resolving the matter. I expected that the situation would have been handled more professionally, with an apology and an offer to replace the meal or accommodate me in some way. I kindly request a formal response addressing this matter, including what corrective measures will be implemented to ensure this does not happen again. I look forward to your prompt response. "Not overly impressed. Room was extremely small with no work place. Think of removing the huge fridge and having only one bedside table and bring in small bar fridge with a work-desk. Reshuffle the room so bumping your head every time you go to the toilet is not a option. The television has no channels so I couldn't work nor could I watch TV."
