"For a visit to friends in Gstaad one night, we were recommended this hotel. Arrival was "interesting" since it seems to be located in a residential area, but once inside it looked very cosy. Very kind and helpful reception staff. Room was basic; can't say anything negative, but also nothing very positive. Was a bit cold and after mentioning that to the reception, they informed us this was due to there green/energy efficient system, but it would get better if we turned the heat up, which we did. Upon returning to our room, it was slightly better, including a distinctive "burning" smell. Breakfast was disappointing. Buffet looks nice, but upon closer inspection, the choices were not great. For the the one night it was fine and it served it's purpose, but I wouldn't recommend it for longer stays in the region. Not close (not walking distance) to Gstaad, nor to the skislopes. No idea in fact why it's located there."

"The hotel is located very near to the train station and some ski areas. This seems to be a hotel that is great if you like to ski and a nice spa area and sauna relaxing room and pool. The staff are all nice efficient and super friendly. My suite was large and new, huge closet and large bathroom with steam shower and free standing tub. All very clean. There is a bit of noise in the morning, the train woke me up, but no noise of other guests or doors. The breakfast is fresh and a large choice, the dinner menu is great and the cake buffet in the afternoon is the best all home made and lots of vegan choices! The dine room set up is very charming a lot of small rooms with different themes and you sit on the same tale with the same waiter which is very comfortable."

"We came to Gstaad to celebrate a birthday event with friends. This hotel was on their list of "recommended" hotels. Nice smiles at reception and friendly introduction, but a hotel lives from hard and software. Here the hardware is totally deficient. Superior room, the most expensive room category before the suites. Motel-like room, Ikea style furniture, miniscule bathroom and a fabulous view on the parking lot. Ground floor terrace. Main street to the ski lift. Without drawn curtains and sitting in the dark, everybody can look straight into the room. This is the worst reality check I have encountered in my 60 years of worldwide traveling. No, absolutely no relationship with the website. Either we have been ripped off and we received a massive downgrade or the website is a total scam. Uncomfortable beds and badly isolated walls. We are counting the hours to be able to leave this place. Stay away"

From the very first day, the friendly staff knew my name and made me feel like a returning guest rather than a first time visitor .Maria, the general manager, Manfred, the owner, and Oliver one of our waiters were all fabulous. The Hotel Landhaus is perfectly located in the center of this charming village and brings steps from the train station was an added bonus making day trips to neighbor villages incredibly easy."
