«A hidden gem tucked away in the small streets of Bakuo, less than 10 minutes walk to Jokhang temple. This hotel is honestly the most unique place I have ever stayed, it used to be the home of Lhasa’s King Gesar, turned into a museum.
The hotel staff we very friendly, had a nice family feel and I was coming home at the end of every stay. The two cats at the reception area are a highlight of this hotel.
They do a daily incense burning ritual around 9ish, which got to take part in. If you’re interested, head down to the courtyard before that time.
If you’re looking for a modern hotel, this isn’t the place for you but if you’re looking for something with history and heritage, this is definitely the hotel for you!
Just something’s to note, not the whole hotel has lifts. Check with the hotel first if the room your looking has lift lift access first if thats a concern for you. And the room did not have a fridge, but we hanged our stuff outside the window as it’s so cold 😅.

NNeko CPros: Hotel staff are friendly and the location is close to the main tourist district and the Potala Palace. There are restaurants available near the hotel.
One thing was that I communicated with the front desk staff to not disturb me the next morning and that I will let them know when they could clean the room coz I was exhausted due to high altitude sickness and unable to sleep throughout the night, however, the cleaning staff banged on the door at 12 noon asking if they could clean the room.
When I booked this hotel on Trip.com, it says also includes one afternoon tea per day, and I booked 9 nights. It turned out isn't true and was not told until I asked the front desk. The hotel staff only responded that in fact the afternoon tea has been cancelled since Dec 2025 and did not provide anything else. With this incident plus laundry only allows 5 pieces/day and doesn't wash inner wear like socks/underwear. I honestly feel that there are a lot more other choices at this price.

TTanxixiangqi今天是特殊的一天，本來想去別的酒店住一天，最後還是選擇留下。住了幾天，也已經習慣這裏了。每天下樓吃早餐，各種食物都嘗試了一下，從一開始不太習慣，到慢慢接受，每天吃的都很飽。離店退房，工作人員送了我們小禮物，還給獻了哈達，我們出去走幾步，在路口上車也很方便。很慶幸選擇了舒適的酒店，這次西藏之行，幾乎都住在這裏。如果有朋友來玩，我會推薦這裏。期待下次的西藏之旅。

AAnn tells the truthHigh standard of equipment, you have to believe this hotel provide PHILIP hairdryer, SAMSUNG TV, KOLER toilet and more. Room is spacious, breakfast is good, view from the rooftop is good too. All in all, i will be back to this hotel no doubt. One thing to be improved: please clean the AC, too smoky.

JjshoggNos alojamos en el Shangri-la después de una semana en el Tíbet. Fue un cambio agradable con respecto a los hoteles de estilo más chino en los que nos habíamos alojado y fue ideal para la noche anterior a nuestro vuelo de salida. Las habitaciones son geniales y reservamos una con bañera. La ducha era muy potente y caliente. El desayuno bufé era, según los estándares chinos, decente para las opciones occidentales y el suplemento de la noche era bueno por aproximadamente 200 RMB por persona si necesitas más opciones occidentales.
La gran ventaja para mí fue el gimnasio. Decente según los estándares de la mayoría de los hoteles y tenía una buena combinación de máquinas de resistencia, cardio y pesas libres (principalmente mancuernas de hasta 20 kg más un par de 27,5 kg). Lo único que le falta al gimnasio es un soporte para sentadillas, pero por lo demás muy bueno. Me alojaría de nuevo allí.

UUsuario invitado¡Esta experiencia de estancia es muy satisfactoria! El hotel tiene una excelente ubicación y el vestíbulo está exquisitamente decorado. Puedes sentir la atmósfera cálida tan pronto como entras por la puerta. El servicio de recepción fue cálido y atento, el check-in fue eficiente y también brindaron de manera proactiva sugerencias sobre recorridos por los alrededores.
La habitación es espaciosa y luminosa, con instalaciones completas, ropa de cama suave y cómoda y buen aislamiento acústico, por lo que dormí muy profundamente por la noche. El baño está limpio y ordenado, con abundante agua caliente y artículos de tocador de buena calidad. La habitación se limpiaba puntualmente todos los días, con gran atención al detalle.
Tuvimos un grave mal de altura en mitad de la noche, y la ama de llaves Xiang Hongwei inmediatamente nos consiguió cilindros de oxígeno (Sanfang Oxygen Bar). Cuando hicimos el check-in, el chico de recepción, རིན་ཆེན་སེང་གེ, también se mostró muy entusiasta. El servicio del Hotel InterContinental aún está fresco en nuestra memoria.
En general, el servicio, el saneamiento y las instalaciones superaron las expectativas, y la relación precio/rendimiento es muy alta. ¡Elegiré aquí de nuevo la próxima vez!

Atour es mi marca de hoteles preferida para viajes de negocios. Esta vez viajé con mis amigos y decidí cambiar de hotel después de quedarme en un B&B durante dos días.
