"Mi experiencia con La casa di Matilda ha sido nefasta. Hice la reserva a través de Booking. Me solicitaron el pago con antelación. Hice un primer pago pero no me lo confirmaron, así que hice un segundo. Resulta que me cobraron dos veces 70€. Me he puesto en contacto con el establecimiento para solicitarles la devolución de 70€ pero no ha contestado. También lo he solicitado a Booking y tampoco lo resuelven. Por si fuera poco, tuvimos que cancelar el viaje a Sicilia debido a un accidente de coche sufrido por mi mujer. Me puse en contacto de nuevo con el establecimiento solicitando la cancelación y el reembolso de la reserva, pues tampoco han contestado ni han devuelto nada. Podría usar un adjetivo para definir como se han portado pero no lo hago porque no publicarían mi opinión."

"This hotel is a total delight. The original late nineteenth-century building is very beautiful (mostly mock Norman-Arabic) with the most charming gardens, pretty (if small) pool, and elegant modern rooms. The chapel, where you can choose to breakfast is especially lovely. The staff are smiling, helpful, a pleasure. The only drawback is that the hotel is a short walk into old Ragusa, and a fair schlep from Ibla. As a moderately fit man in my early sixties, I found this fine, but those who don't like a stroll should perhaps look for somewhere more central. For me this remains perhaps the nicest hotel in which I have ever stayed."

"The hotel claims to be 5 star - it is not. Looking at their website they look as though they have some nice rooms but they also have some awful ones. We booked from Loveholidays website. The room we picked showed a beautiful large light room with bifold doors with a patio outside with a dining table (a picture of the room we booked is attached). Upon our return from holiday and complaining to Loveholidays the following day the pictures on their website of this room suddenly disappeared. Unfortunately the room provided to us (room15) was a tiny, dark airless DUMP - the window was more of a small hatch, you had to have the electric light on during the day . Upon complaining we were told that the booking was for a Superior Room with garden view and that was what we had been given. In the bedroom there was no wardrobe or chest of drawers (there was no space for them). There was no power point to charge your mobile phone- although there was one by the bathroom basin if you wished to chance being electrocuted. The garden view was a grubby courtyard complete with two open manholes . They turn the lights out at night. Upon being shown to our room for the first time in the early hours I nearly fell into one of these holes - about 40cm square and about 70 cm deep just waiting to break your leg or fracture your pelvis. The food was not good - if you were expecting fish in a beautiful wine sauce or a piece of chicken/lamb/pork in a rich sauce forget it. We dreaded the meals. We have had holidays all over Italy and never have had such poor food. The hotel certainly has a suit of armour in the hallway but their pictures of bikes for rent must have been taken 14 years ago - they are now just a load of rusting metal fit for the skip. Loveholidays have clearly mis-sold me by accident or design I do not know. Would you trust Loveholidays to provide the holiday you booked ? - I never will again"

"We stayed for 7 nights in this place. We were upgraded to a swim up suite, which was a really nice surprise and a bonus to have the little private pool. This is a luxury hotel with the agriturismo spirit. The location is beautiful, super quiet, especially when you are staying in the second building that they recently opened. The views are marvelous and we enjoyed a walk through the olive orchard every morning and see the men at work harvesting the olives. Breakfast was good with a great variety, also vegetarian friendly. The ladies at the reception are super friendly and helpful. The wellness was a bit bare when we booked it as only jacuzzi and sauna were working but they gave us a 50% discount in return. We do feel that you are a bit far away to explore the interesting towns nearby, for us this was more about visiting beaches, apart from visiting Scicli. You can go for more touristic beach in Marina di Ragusa or more local in Donnalucata. Great options to eat out in the area, but you will need to drive a bit and the restaurant at the hotel was a very good option too, but rather for a full dining experience for one night than daily dinners. We did use the kitchenette quite a bit so that's a great addition in the room. If we go to Sicily again, we will happily return here."

La ciudad de Ragusa está en dos colinas y la calle principal una larga colina. El hotel está en una calle estrecha y el único estacionamiento está en la calle y es limitado. ¡Tienes que estar a la altura! La ubicación es buena para el acceso a la ciudad o a Ragusa Ibla, la parte más antigua."

"We stayed in Donnafugata suite for 8 nights. The apartment was clean, comfortable and provided plenty of room for a family of 4. (They have air conditioning in each room and it works great). The 2 pools were great, breakfast was good ( a standard Italian hotel type of breakfast) and overall the hotel is a good value for a family given the space and what is offered. It is very quiet and peaceful on the property given you are deep in the countryside. Lastly, the staff was extremely helpful, making dinner reservations, booking excursions and helpful with overall directions in the area."

"The minute I went into my room you could smell the mould. The bathroom needs either a deep clean or a total Reno, Carpets in the hallways were faded and buckled - major trip hazard. Although the reception area looked nice that didn’t flow through to the rooms. Service in the restaurant was abysmal - 2 hrs to put together a plate of cold meat & cheese, did not appear to have enough staff in the kitchen. All I could see was one poor man who was ran ragged. Unless they did a major revamp I would not stay here again"

"Amazing B & B. The hotel which was a palace dating back to the 1700's. It was incredible expeirence in many ways. The family that owned the property from it inception still lives there and operates it as a hotel. The Baroness, is a charming and hospitable host. She treats you like a house guest..nothing is top much. The staff there is limited but very helpful and engaging. Beautiful spacious rooms full of original furniture. The hotel is like a museum."

"We were looking for a place where we can stay like a local in Ragusa Ibla, and we found the perfect place in this charming B&B. It is within a short distance walk to all the shops, cafes and restaurants, and we were really living amongst the locals. We had booked our room through ***********, and the B&B communicated with us right after, with instructions on parking etc. The owner (Simone) was very polite and helpful. He helped us with our parking, and gave us a lift from the parking space to the property in his cool little car! Our room (Comfort Double Room) was amazingly spacious and comfortable. We had a little balcony looking out to the cobbled street below and over the roofs of all the houses around. The bathroom and room were well cleaned, shower was strong, and all the amenities were sufficient and working well. Breakfast was superb and Simone's presentation of all the delicacies was an art in itself. The dining area was amazing; overlooking the Old City. The whole property has an old-time elegance to it. Very nice, and again, the location was fantastically convenient to explore the ancient city by foot. We can highly recommend this place to others wanting an authentic experience in Ragusa Ibla! "

La habitación 1 tiene unas vistas increíbles y una de las camas más cómodas con almohadas magníficas. Simone es sin duda la anfitriona más amable, servicial y atenta que he tenido. "Initially a little skeptical due to some misunderstanding with the management, I immediately changed my mind after the first presentation, very friendly staff with a great sense of hospitality. Very characteristic place, it feels like returning to the Sicily of the early 1900s, everything well looked after. I didn't expect the structure to unfold in this small alley (very very beautiful), for the occasion (since I also had the massage) I changed 2 rooms, with different themes and really well looked after. On the first day they brought us an excellent aperitif plus a bottle of prosecco, the next morning a plentiful breakfast in the room, always very kind and particularly precise with the times. Highly recommended, above all excellent value for money."
