"El hotel tiene un ascensor en la ciudad directa, caminar por las escaleras y pasar por una pequeña catedral a la Catedra de San George de Lagusaibla, 5 euros para viajar en un pequeño tren a otras iglesias de la ciudad. El hotel no es grande, si la caja grande es un poco cansada, hay que caminar 20 metros de la colina, y una altura, y las instalaciones son generales. La demanda de vivir por una noche no puede ser demasiado alta. La terraza del hotel puede ver la ciudad en la esquina."

"The Artemisia Hotel is a bit far from the Ragusa town centre, it caters for travellers with self drive transport. On the other hand, the rooms are spacious and well equipped with ample drawers and a wardrobe for storage. The hotel reception staff is friendly and helpful. It has a good size swimming pool which is a blessing in the hot summer months. Breakfast is rich with excellent choices. I highly recommend it."

"Very impressive hotel with some very large rooms. Ours had a fantastic balcony looking over the street and featured some beautiful original architectural details. The choice of furniture felt a little 2000's and slightly out of place so that felt a little disappointing. The hotel features a spa with a mini pool which is very nice and can be booked privately with a bottle of wine, a nice extra. Breakfast was standard buffet style and very average given the upscale feel of the hotel. Location wise it is on a very quiet street but is in walking distance of most things, not that there is too much going on in Ragusa, it is very pretty though. Overall it was pretty expensive but worth it for the night."

"Villa Bascarino is a charming place to stay in Ragusa. It’s an old private residence that has been beautifully converted to comfortable accommodation with a tranquil garden and pool area where we were able to have lunch after our arrival. Our room was spacious with a terrace, the breakfast offered a wide choice and the staff were very friendly, helpful and kind. Parking is freely available in front of the Villa or free nearby in the street. We left something valuable behind but a staff member (Aldo) arranged for it to be couriered to our next accommodation which was so very kind of him. I would highly recommend staying at Villa Boscarino"

"Hotel decided to hold massive party on lawn immediately outside of our room from 8:30 till midnight with extremely loud music. Night manager was extremely defensive and took no responsibility. He said it was our fault because they informed our Backroads trip leaders less than 24 hour before the party leaving us with no options. I do not recommend coming here. I am also going to strongly recommend that Backroads never use this hospitality venue again,"

"We stayed in Apartment-suite Ibla. The apartment is big, bright, and nicely renovated. The bathrooms work well, as does the AC. The park is wonderful, a perfect (in my opinion) combination of curated and wild. The two swimming pools are well maintained (though not new), have great views, and weren't ever too busy during our stay. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The shortcomings all relate to the apartment. The cooking hob is ancient; four slow hot plates with four knobs - that's it. No safety lights to warn that the plates are hot. No drawing to show which knob goes with which plate, or which way the knob needs to be turned. There is no microwave. There is only one shelf to store the food. In summary, the kitchen is barely usable. In the living room, there are no cabinets. After asking, we were given a plastic table to put in a corner, which did the trick. The drying rack for the laundry is at small as it gets and certainly not sufficient for 6 people. Good thing clothing dries very quickly at 30C+! In summary, the place is beautiful and the expensive bits are all there: large apartment, AC, swimming pools, park. It just needs some additional work and money to go up a notch. Right now it is between 3 and 4 starts but I give it 4 in the hope they will be addressed soon (I emailed all of these points to the hotel). I would probably go back but not a sure thing."

"The minute I went into my room you could smell the mould. The bathroom needs either a deep clean or a total Reno, Carpets in the hallways were faded and buckled - major trip hazard. Although the reception area looked nice that didn’t flow through to the rooms. Service in the restaurant was abysmal - 2 hrs to put together a plate of cold meat & cheese, did not appear to have enough staff in the kitchen. All I could see was one poor man who was ran ragged. Unless they did a major revamp I would not stay here again"
