"This is a beautiful hotel with the most lovely, helpful staff. We could not have asked for a better stay. The hotel is furnished like a French country home with large comfortable sitting rooms and beautiful grounds. The proprietor helped us identify the best hikes and other activities. The staff even helped with a jump when our car battery died! All of the food we enjoyed was fresh and delicious and we loved the afternoon tea set up when we came in from a long hike. This location was also perfect for us to enable us to enjoy the beautiful mountains and still get into Petropolis for the historical part of our experience."

"I was at the hotel with my fiancé. I booked one of the top rooms, but when we arrived it was so dark with just a small window. Also it was freezing cold. I asked the reception and they said the heater was functioning well. So I asked for another room and ended upgrading for the Presidential Suite, paying the difference. That suite was also cold. They don't have a proper heating there. Also, their English is very poor. Not counting that they had a "German Festival" right in front at the hotel and we couldn't even get a cab or an Uber. Finally we decided to move to another hotel and we requested a refund. Believe it or not, they said NO! "
