"Soetdoring (en la granja de De Zeekoe) fue el primer paseo que tuvimos para nuestra luna de miel, y nos impresionó tanto! Tenemos una comunicación tan fácil y eficaz con el dueño, recibimos una cabina tranquila con una hermosa gran patio que mira la cueva y nos sentíamos tranquilos. La cabina también está equipada con todo y más (aercondicionado, wifi, instalaciones de brai, baño moderno y una bonita cama grande con nitación de mosquito). La granja tiene una gran vida silvestre y aves para ver (¡por lo que trae sus binóculos!) y para añadir hielo al pastel, la granja tiene un restaurante sorprendente a pocos minutos! ¿Qué más quieres? "

"Very nice stay as guests of a lifetime friend. The room (honeymoon suite) was excellent but very dark to our liking. Our room however required some maintenance! Toilet kept running after flushing, toilet roll holder was loose, and a few electrical issues. Outdoor relaxation area was excellent."

"When reading other reviews, we wonder whether we may have stayed in a different place. We got unlucky with the meerkats, which was down to the weather and obviously no fault of the farm. The food was ok, but in comparison to the other hotels we have stayed in on our tour, it was decidedly average. Having been greeted in every hotel we have stayed in so far, which such genuine friendly people,The greatest downside for us with de zeekoe, was how offside all the staff were (save the lady who checked us out, being the 1 exception).. we thought it must have been just been us, until we met another couple post checkout, who said they had had an even worse experience than us. Happily, we have moved on to the next venue and normal South African hospitality has resumed. Happy days…."

"I write this having just checked out and my only complaint is that we leave too early, wish we had another couple of days here. Theresa and Jan were amazing hosts with two evening meals for our party of 13 that were just lovely. Fresh local produce and an enthusiasm for the region was a joy to behold. The gardens and verandas lead to a relaxed colonial feel and you could while away hours doing nothing . Stop here but better, stay for a while. Thank you for a magical couple of nights."

"This was not our first visit to Swartberg Country Manor, but it was certainly our best. The addition of Marietjie and Frikkie has elevated the experience in the most wonderful way. Marietjie’s hospitality is truly exceptional—nothing was too much trouble, whether big or small, and she made us feel completely at home from the moment we arrived. Frikkie’s cooking deserves special mention. The lamb chops were quite simply out of this world—perfectly prepared and utterly memorable, and easily some of the best we’ve had. It has always been a privilege to stay in such a breathtakingly beautiful setting, but now, with the addition of such attentive service and outstanding food, the experience feels complete. We will most certainly be back."

"First impressions of De Denne were excellent, the setting is beautiful, and our room (and our friends' room next door) each had a seating area outside and overlooked one of the pools. The sunset and then the stars were stunning. We had dinner at De Denne on our first night which was very good. Reasonably priced and very good service. Our first breakfast was good ... a small buffet selection was set up, and we were also able to order cooked food from the breakfast menu. However, on our second morning, we went in to breakfast and sat down. I asked the lady helping us if I could order from the cooked menu, as we all had the previous day, and was simply told 'No'. I was directed towards the buffet food and told that was what was available that day. There were no bowls for the cereal or yogurt so I asked for a bowl, and was handed one a few minutes later by the same lady who didn't even look at me when she handed it over. A little while later she then offered me the menu to order some cooked food, but I declined as I had already eaten something else by then. The lady then asked me 'If I was really okay or just saying that'. To be honest this spoilt the stay a little as I felt I was an inconvenience ... and I am sure this is not how you would want guests to feel. "
