"The room was totally fine; everything newish. There are some things not to like but at the lower price point this place has, they are easy to overlook. If there is a weak point on room furnishings, it could be the mattress which was acceptable only. Towels and bed linen clean but a little frayed in spots. Other guests remark on the area. There is a bar next door where guys hang around in the streets smoking and patrons are loud coming and going in the evening. The hotel had good windows that filter most of the noise but if you’re truly a light sleet, this could be a factor. I didn’t find the area dangerous; just don’t interact with the bar patrons. I just saw one guy at reception ever (so may be the owner/manager) and he was not fluent in English but we got by. The immediate area has the Porte of Augustus, a huge cathedral, 10 minute walk to the arena and other sites and a Carrefour market. Given the price, I would stay again."

"I stayed in this hotel during the first week it was opened, and it was clearly rushed to be open when it was incomplete. Aside from the obvious issues - the actual construction ongoing around and behind the hotel - the rooms were simply not ready. I was shuffled between FOUR rooms at check-in, trying to find a room that was sufficiently ready to be lived in. It was absolutely not a 4-star hotel, and management should be ashamed, except it was clear from the reaction of the manager that she did not care at all. Here is a list of things I encountered: No curtains in 2 rooms (the curtains were literally still in plastic bags by the window to be hung) Missing furniture - at least two rooms lacked side tables and I had to use my suitcase finally - in one of the rooms they just tossed the phone on the floor A broken window that was still under construction (and also did not have curtains) A bathroom wall that had not been completed so that you could hear through the thin drywall because the tile was never installed No bathrobes (and none brought even after twice requesting them) No sugar/creamer/spoons for the coffee - just pods and cups (also requested and not brought) Bedding that was stiff and scratchy and possibly not washed before being put on the bed A room that smelled of mold to the point you could not stay in it Missing pillows on the bed (and a hassle to get enough pillows to sleep) Heavy machinery outside the window beginning at 7:30am because the place was still under constructions A leaking shower that apparently had never been tested Missing bathroom towels and an empty sanitary bag container An empty minifridge (was supposed to have water in it) that was installed incorrectly so the door barely opened because it was backwards Maintenance workers actively working on the interior of the hotel to complete things like fixing carpet and baseboards Construction dust and paint drips on the floor and walls and even chair cushions Air conditioning that never got to the correct temperature And the best part? At checkout they had someone else listed as being in my room and me being in a room I never stayed in. They even fought with me over it, insinuating I was stupid and had made two reservations and paid for two rooms (despite showing my confirmation email that clearly showed one room). The manager took my number to call, but it never happened. Instead, I got a random email receipt an hour later for a completely unrelated room I had never stayed in. This means that someone could have gotten access to my room because they didn't even have record of who I was or where I was staying. Serious security concerns. The manager was rude and refused to talk with the guests, going as far as to just shoot dirty looks from another part of the lobby and making her poor associate deal with customers. (I was not the only unhappy customer I saw over the two days I spent there, too.) The hotel was clearly forced to be open before it was ready because the o"

"The hotel is accessed from a small road off the highway. The gardens and pool are beautiful. There's no elevator, so carrying luggage upstairs was a bit of a hassle. The room was small but comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. There's no refrigerator, but you can get ice and water in the restaurant. The breakfast was quite generous, and the staff were very friendly."
