Unwind on our small farm in a dome tent nestled under towering trees in a private setting. Enjoy your day relaxing by the seasonal (mid June-Sept) heated pool overlooking the pastures of goats, ducks, pigs and peacocks. Walk bike or drive to one of our local restaurants beaches or parks or take the ferry for easy access to the city and amazing views. A hybrid tipi style canvas bell tent sits atop a reclaimed wooden deck. The uninsulated canvas tent is outfitted with a queen size bed made up European style with feather duvet (no top sheet) and quality linens. Other furnishings include dresser, Keurig coffee/tea service, games/books, space heater, and comfy seating outfitting the inside. The real treat? a spa like private western red cedar bath house bringing you truly closer to nature with the organic design, raw wood finish, and outdoor shower under the trees. Some of the cedar used in the bath house was reclaimed from leftover timber in clear cuts of the Olympic Peninsula. Outdoor loungers, string lights and a fire pit. 9Mile Farm Forest Tipi experience may not be for everyone if you are uneasy without strong wifi, room service, a roof over your head, a lock on a door, early morning farm noises, or really nature this may not be your cup of tea. Be honest with yourself, does this listing sound intriguing or terrifying? if the latter please rethink before booking. Please understand that the farm is undergoing constant improvements & various projects may be underway during your visit. We try to keep it tidy but realistically that just isn't always possible. This is the top unit in a triplex where each level is its own apartment. The next door neighbors on either side are close since the homes are waterfront. The primary bedroom has an attached bathroom (there is no door to separate the room from the bathroom, but there is a small hallway and a walk-in closet to separate the spaces for some privacy). The second bedroom is close to the second bathroom. There is a small laundry room. The kitchen is a good size and is open to the living room. The workspace/desk area is in-between the kitchen/living area. There is one parking space for your vehicle, but a long-bed pickup truck or longer (such as a trailer) would need to be parked on a side street.
The triplex and neighboring waterfront homes own the private beaches in front of their houses. Houses are close to one another and people enjoy their privacy and personal space, so we ask that you respect this during your stay. Generally we find that guests enjoy staying in the apartment and on the balcony, but there is also a public park with a small beach and public docks just 3 houses down. Great for launching your kayak, standup paddle, boat, or other water toys - or if you just want to relax on the water.
Manchester is a neighborhood within the city of Port Orchard. This small neighborhood is made up of a post office, a hair salon, a public library and Pomeroy park that has a nice small sandy beach, and the public boat launch, all only a short (2-4 minutes) walk from the top floor apartment.

This is the top unit in a triplex where each level is its own apartment. The next door neighbors on either side are close since the homes are waterfront. The primary bedroom has an attached bathroom (there is no door to separate the room from the bathroom, but there is a small hallway and a walk-in closet to separate the spaces for some privacy). The second bedroom is close to the second bathroom. There is a small laundry room. The kitchen is a good size and is open to the living room. The workspace/desk area is in-between the kitchen/living area. There is one parking space for your vehicle, but a long-bed pickup truck or longer (such as a trailer) would need to be parked on a side street.
The triplex and neighboring waterfront homes own the private beaches in front of their houses. Houses are close to one another and people enjoy their privacy and personal space, so we ask that you respect this during your stay. Generally we find that guests enjoy staying in the apartment and on the balcony, but there is also a public park with a small beach and public docks just 3 houses down. Great for launching your kayak, standup paddle, boat, or other water toys - or if you just want to relax on the water.
Manchester is a neighborhood within the city of Port Orchard. This small neighborhood is made up of a post office, a hair salon, a public library and Pomeroy park that has a nice small sandy beach, and the public boat launch, all only a short (2-4 minutes) walk from the top floor apartment.

It is fully furnished & includes 1 bedroom with closet, 1 bathroom & a full kitchen/dining room with refrigerator, range, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven & all the essentials. Additional amenities include TV, DVDs & player, books & games, wi-fi, grill, use of canoe, kayaks, bikes & rubber boots.
The Property
We are on 2.8 acres with a large amount of waterfront. The tide goes in and out twice a day. The cottage has a covered parking space and additional parking is available upon request. There is a personal a gas grill on the deck and you are allowed to use the canoe or kayaks (with a signed waiver). We have a large canoe as well as 3 adult and one child kayaks. We also provide most sizes of rubber boots for beach combing and several lawn games.
During low tide, you can walk around the point as long as you stay on the beach. We have 2 big friendly dogs and 2 cats on the property that might want to visit you when you are outside, but they are not allowed inside the cottage. There are also goats and chickens you can visit if you'd like. Feel free to explore the small nature trail, play the 6-goal disc golf course, or hang out at the beach front picnic table - when weather permits.

During our remodel, the wood stove on living room photo and some siding has been removed to be re-installed with the rest of all siding repairs at the end of our remodel. We already have brand new windows/entry door and metal roof. The stairs to the beach and a few other things are on the list for future improvements, so please don't expect everything to be in brand new shape, but more like a charming country cottage suite on Bainbridge Island with imperfections!
You have a queen bed in the separate bedroom, a queen sleeper sofa in the living room for sleeping up 4 adults that get along (sleeper sofas has a topper & plywood for individual tastes but not like a real bed!) with an extra charge for more than 2 people. Also a twin-sized air mattress if needed and a fold-out baby crib for the small kids.
Your waterfront beach suite is within the Wing Point Community, which is one of the most established neighborhoods on Bainbridge Island centered around Bainbridge’s only 18 hole golf course. You have a lawn outside your double French doors that has a fantastic view of both Mount Rainier, the Olympic Mountains, the Sound with ships passing by as far as the eye can see and Eagle Harbor with the ferry and lots of boats jetting in and out. Or relax at the patio dining are or at two other outside seating areas, light up your BBQ or gather around the fire pit!
A 50 step staircase leads to your beach area where you can watch the gorgeous sunset over the Olympics from the comfortable beach furniture while you are enjoying your BBQ meal or borrow our kayaks for a ride (you are 100% responsible when using them). Or you can walk on the large beach for miles at low tide including to the ferry or downtown.
