"Great location, only a 10 minute walk from skala town. With shop 2 minute walk away and restaurants/beach on the door step. Room was spacious with kitchenette, plenty of storage, balcony (with an unexpected view of the beach) Breakfast spread was good, included fruit and yogurt, cereal and pastries, also a good range of cooked items to choose from. Pool area was clean and very relaxing. Bar was well stocked with good beer in chilled glasses. Staff were great especially Eva who made our stay! Amazing service and friendly, also kindly helped us sort transport for days out. Will definitely be coming back next year!"

Todos los que nos conocimos en el hotel eran clientes repetidos y todo tan amigable. Muy seguro para los niños. Abundante camas de sol en todas las horas del día. Todos los días nos dirigíamos a la piscina a las 9:30 y fuimos los primeros allí! No hay entretenimiento como tal, pero no necesitas nada porque el lugar está tan frío. Cada viernes por la noche hacen un BBQ que fue genial. No hay comida en la noche, pero hay tantas tavernas de playa que no necesitan. Entonces vuelven a beber y se cierran cuando el último cliente va. El terreno está lleno de frutas y puedes ayudarte. También salvan gatos y hay 29 en el terreno, todos felices y amables. No es bueno para grupos de jóvenes, ya que no hay mucho, pero perfecto para parejas o familias. Mi hija tiene 14 años y ella lo ama. Gracias especialmente a Despina y Efi por hacer nuestra estadía tan hermosa."

"The 5 star rating is for the hotel, based on it being a 3 star hotel. The resort would receive a different rating. Less and less I like big hotels. Makis Hotel hits the right note in terms of big enough to offer all you need, but not too big as to be too busy. Our room was of standard size, overlooking the water and offered all that was necessary. Breakfast offered enough choice for the star rating. Staff were very friendly. The pool and bar area were comfortable and bar food was very enjoyable. You can hire pool towels for a 10€ cash deposit and they can be changed on alternate days. My only disappointment is the usual nonsense of people reserving sun beds before breakfast. The hotel signage advises people that it’s not allowed and that towels will be removed. Unfortunately this isn’t adhered to, as we had many people reserve the same Cabana/sunbeds every day and for extended periods, not always use them. Like many, I find this performance very annoying, but in the end the hotel advised that they didn’t want to Police it and so despite being willing to follow the rules, we had no choice but to adopt the same reservation system. I’m sure the hotel would find alternative beds should none be available, but that’s not the point. The hotel is less than 5mins. walk to the small centre of Skala. Having travelled extensively throughout Greece/the world, we found the resort underwhelming. Whilst there were enough restaurants to choose from, the menus were usually very similar. We can recommend Oinos Wine Bar, for both simple, quality food and wine (knowledge as well) selection and Mikelatos Restaurant, for great quality and well presented food. The main street is quite short, offering limited and repetitive retail options and whilst pretty enough by night, didn’t greatly excite if staying for more than a few nights. At the time of our visit, the resort appeared largely populated by Brits and a few Eastern Europeans. All in all, we enjoyed our stay, (were very happy with the hotel), though pleased we took a days car hire to find something more authentically Greece, as Skala could be anywhere!"

"I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable rest in a peaceful, beautiful neighborhood. The rooms are clean, cleaned daily, and have fresh towels provided. The staff are incredibly helpful, friendly, and attentive. The hotel is in a quiet area, yet a nearby town is within walking distance. The hotel beach—a picturesque cove with blue water—is the quintessence of Kefalonia. If I visit the island again, I will certainly stay at this hotel. In my opinion, the stay was an 11/10."

"El hotel no es en la vida un 5 estrellas. Como mucho se queda en 3 estrellas y ya. Muy viejo en todo. Las habitaciones, aún q reserves la mejor es muy vieja, las camas un desastre.. etc Las habitaciones tienen llave 🔑 ni siquiera tarjeta con lector magnético. Al llegar te hacen cubrir un papel con tus datos y firmar un consentimiento. Por favor!!, ni siquiera un sistema informático, todo a mano en papel. Las toallas de la piscina parece q hay q pedirlas casi de rodillas para q te las den. Q no os engañen no es un 5 estrellas, está muy viejo, muy falto de servicio en todo. Demasiado caro me parece visto lo visto."

"Enjoyed a fantastic 4 night stay here with friends. We had a warm welcome despite arriving late and were grateful to Kelly for her wonderful recommendations for local sights and restaurants throughout our stay. The apartment was modern, clean and well designed with everything you could possibly need. The complex has a few cats so if you have allergies or don’t like cats then this might be an issue for you. We are animal lovers and this only added to our memorable experience. The location means you require a car but I’d say that is a must for anywhere in the island to make sure you see as much of Kefalonia as possible. Definitely recommend!"
