"I would say the hotel is four stars because it is in a beautiful location and very comfortable. However, it is very remote and a long drive just to get off the gravel road to go anywhere. The food I would give five stars. The restaurant was phenomenal for dinner and the breakfast was also excellent. Please note the breakfast is an additional charge. However, service at the restaurant I would give two stars. We stayed at the hotel for two nights. The first night we decided to eat before moving our things into our room because we were hungry after our long drive. The service that night was excellent and the restaurant was busy but I did notice that they were giving lots of attention to us and not serving people who had been seated before us. The second night we were completely ignored. When we arrived at the restaurant, there were only two other tables with customers. We sat down at a table, and proceeded to wait and wait and wait while four other groups, who arrived after us, were handed menus and had their orders taken and drinks served. When my husband got up to ask for menus, we were told we needed to be patient. I am a very patient person, but not when I’m obviously being ignored, and all the tables surrounding us were being served and helped, and no one was even looking at us as they passed our table. Our table only two place settings for four of us. When we finally got our food, the owner seemed very put out because we needed 2 more place settings. His waiter from Poland was delightful. I really appreciated his positive, happy attitude and attention when we needed something. He gets a 5 but the manager’s attitude, rudeness and lack of caring about returning customers gets 1 star. After reading previous reviews I can see that his customer service needs help. But the young man from Poland was wonderful! This hotel restaurant is the only place to eat being so far out. They need a better way to serve all the customers. They should know that the majority of the people staying at the hotel will be eating there and devise a plan to be able to serve everyone. They should either have more people working or they should have a reservation/sign up list so that everybody doesn’t come during the same hour which seemed to be between 7:30 and 8:30. The food was excellent, but the manager was not polite and it was like he had already won us over the night before, so there was no need to impress us and instead would be attentive to the new patrons."

"Mystic Light Lodge is truly one of the most unique places we've ever stayed. Nestled along Iceland's beautiful west coast, it offers the perfect combination of luxury, privacy, and breathtaking nature. The stunning glass cabin, with its mirrored exterior, allows you to enjoy panoramic views from every angle while still feeling completely private. One of our favorite features was the glass roof, making it possible to watch the ever-changing sky from the comfort of the cabin. The views are simply unforgettable. Looking out over the ocean, we were lucky enough to spot seals resting and playing along the shoreline through the telescope provided in the cabin. They often come even closer to the coast, making it an incredibly special experience. Another highlight was soaking in the outdoor hot tub while overlooking the sea. The peaceful surroundings, fresh ocean air, and complete silence made it the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. What truly made our stay exceptional, however, was the hospitality. The hosts personally welcomed us on arrival, were incredibly kind and thoughtful, and were always available if we needed anything. Their genuine care made us feel at home from the very first moment. Mystic Light Lodge is an unforgettable escape, and somewhere we would return to without hesitation!"

"There is a road about 7 kilometers or so that the road is a bit difficult to open. You need to wear clothes at night when you go to another place to go to the bathroom. The kitchen equipment is limited. Staying for 2 nights is OK. thanks."
