"This is the worst experience we've ever had while traveling. They said it was the last room available in Cuxhaven over the Pentecost weekend. We paid €225 for this room – a complete rip-off. We spoke to other guests this morning. They only booked on Wednesday at a rate of €149, while others paid €137. Even that is ridiculously expensive for this "hotel." As Mr. Lars Jansen already mentioned, it's unacceptable. The toilet seat was loose, the shower seals were broken, the wardrobe fell out when you opened it, the bed was far too soft, and there was an extremely pungent odor coming from the bathroom that didn't go away even after airing it out. The room was very noisy. Breakfast was awful; the coffee on the first morning was lukewarm, and you had to sift through several pots to get it. The juices were supposedly from Pfanner, but they were watered down. Cleaning cloths were left lying next to the clean plates. Chairs were wiped down with the same cloth, and then the tables were wiped with the same cloth. The Cuxhaven tourist information office is aware of the situation; they said the complaints are increasing. So, stay away from this place. I'd give it minus six stars."

"The location is good, across the road from the beach and the visitor centre. Friendly reception. The room was recently renovated and comfortable to sleep in. It was enough for me travelling solo. They offer tea coffee amenities in the room with a kettle. They have an excellent breakfast, I loved their fresh bakery items and there was enough for my vegetarian needs. They also had a lot of meat options but I didn’t partake of those. They give a printout of the day’s options in Cuxhaven on the table which I felt was very thoughtful. I was there for one night and leaving after breakfast so couldn’t make much use of their daily planner. Would definitely stay here again if I go to Cuxhaven again."
