"Pros: 1. It's a resort spread over a few acres. The reception is also very big. 2. They only have individual villas & spread over multiple lanes. 3. Lot of place to walk around. Cons: 1. Wifi works only in the reception, not in any other part of the hotel. 2. Rooms had sand on the floor & it hadn't been cleaned properly. 3. They have wooden flooring which has worn out. They have stuck the planks with tape in some spots & planks have loosened in some spots. 4. Bathrooms need urgent renovation, all fixtures are old / dysfunctional, did not feel comfortable to use it. I was so uncomfortable with the bathroom that I did not take bath while at the hotel. After we checked into the other hotel with a longer stay, I took bath late in the day. 5. Breakfast options were limited & not appetizing at all."

"We have been staying in and around Cavelossim for over 30 years (bar the Covid Years). We have stayed here before and have known the family and most of their staff for a long time. We have been absent from Goa since Covid and returned this year in the hopes that it was still as good as it had been, it isn't... it's even better!!. What really makes Sao Domingos is the "feel". It's very much like being part of it, being at home with it. Everyone from Edwin the owner, down to the lads who look after the rooms are just excellent, friendly easy to talk to and certainly give the impression that they are because they want to. The rooms may be bit basic, but very comfortable, but that's a reflection of the cost, it's what you should expect, and if you don't agree go across the road to one of the more expensive hotels at five times the cost, where you will find colourful Indian weddings every week whic may exclude you from the hotel facilities. The rooms are cleaned, towels replaced etc every day, and if you have any small issues just ask, 99 times out of a hundred it will soon be resolved. It's a bit of a venue for expats and mostly of a slightly senior nature, and though we usually avoid expat communities when away it has to be said that it just works her. The majority are returnees and though it has been five years since last we came, there were lots of clients and staff who we immediately recognised. There's live music which though a little noisy sometimes ceases around 11pm. I would like to mention and thank so many people working here individually by name but this review is already too long so I won't . I will mention Hazel on reception who has such great organisational skills, thank you. The accompanying restaurant, Goan Village is also excellent but perhaps a separate review is needed for that. This year was an excellent 3 weeks, wish we had booked for four, but now we have for next year. Thanks"

"We stayed in one of the cabins overlooking the river. Very comfy large bed, daily cleaning and bedding change. Fridge , kettle, tea and coffee , plus bottles of water replenished every day. Fabulous, tranquil views of the river, bird life and local fishermen from the terrace. Breakfasts, good, local choices , plus toast, jam, eggs , fruit juice etc. Staff lovely and helpful, less than than10 minutes walk from the beautiful beach and restaurants. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable."

"This is a beautiful resort with nice rooms. Ours was clean and spacious. The staff was generally very good and assisted with things like booking taxis. The beach is not private - only the access path to the beach is private. That did not pose a problem for us. When we arrived we were told we needed to pay 11000 rupees each for a mandatory New Year’s Eve party. They insisted we had been notified when we had not, and claimed they could not check us in until we paid. It felt extortive to insist on this payment with no prior notification (and, they first said we had definitely been contacted but they couldn’t find proof, and later said they hadn’t had a way to contact us). Ultimately we did pay with a discount and enjoyed the party. However, the experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I would warn anyone saying over Christmas or New Years that these extremely expensive, mandatory parties will occur."

"Had a fantastic time here! This is a charming, quaint & well run stay. Loved the location as it’s in the heart of all the exciting convenient things within the town. Mikes Place is the family related restaurant next door that is fun & convenient as you have live music, scrumptious food that creates a family joyful ambience. Got an excellent room with a spacious balcony, all the amenties that you can expect at a stay are provided & is cosy, clean. Special shoutout to Susan & LIsa for being helpful always & making sure we had a comfortable time. Shout out to Tony, Omkar & Vicky as well for their assistance throughout our stay. You will appreciate the meaningful touches, well curated greenery & breakfast area through the estate. Can’t wait to revisit again soon."

"Located in middle of field in the interior of Cavelosim. Good for people who want to escape hustle and bustle of city life. Very little amenities, no fridge ,no Hot water Kettle in Room.Needs improvement in room service Beach 30 min walk from hotel,Food good,Complementary Breakfast very limited,Away from main cavelosim area very lonely no other guest were there we left before completion of our stay on 13th due to security issues . Being in a remote place with 2 daughters we were not feeling secure . we were the only guest in the whole resort we felt insecure Also the amenities were not available no glasses also in the room for drinking water The resorts needs more professionalism in managing. Complementary Breakfast was only 2 slices of Toast butter,Jam and coffee"
