"Esta no es mi primera vez en Goa, así que tenía una idea aproximada del nivel de los hoteles. Pero Sarovar fue una grata sorpresa. Las habitaciones son preciosas y espaciosas (nos tocó una con vistas a la piscina, lo cual fue una ventaja), y el aire acondicionado es excelente, justo lo que necesitaba después de un día caluroso en la playa. El servicio es de primera: todo el personal es amable, te abren las puertas y sonríen. Llegamos un poco antes de las 14:00, en cuanto nuestra habitación estuvo lista. La habitación está limpia y el servicio de limpieza se ofrece bajo petición (pulsando un botón para indicar si lo deseas o no). Una vez, olvidamos pulsar el botón: vinieron y limpiaron todo, cambiaron las toallas y rellenaron el agua. Al reservar, leí en las reseñas que la playa está a 15 minutos a pie. Esto fue lo único que me hizo dudar a la hora de elegir el hotel (lo quería más cerca). En realidad, se trata de un paseo de 15 minutos hasta la entrada principal de la playa por la animada calle principal de Palolem, llena de tiendas. En realidad, se puede ir directamente desde la entrada del hotel a la playa a través de una zona privada donde viven los lugareños y se encuentran pequeños hoteles. Caminar por este sendero sombreado bajo el sol es mucho más agradable que por la carretera principal, llena de motos y coches. En tres minutos, se llega a la playa, con sus chiringuitos y tumbonas. Un agradecimiento especial al personal de la cafetería, que limpia las mesas en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, trae huevos y té masala, y responde con prontitud a cualquier pregunta o petición. Al hacer el check-out, nos trajeron un delicioso pastel para el desayuno. No nos arrepentimos en absoluto de haber optado por un hotel más económico y con un precio superior a la media en Goa. Si vuelvo a Palolem, sin duda me alojaré en el Sabiha."

"The place is nice, but our stay wasn't good, due to the staff in the reception and the situation created. We booked the place for five nights. The first day, when we arrived, they showed us the bungalow and told us we could change to a better one with a corresponding upgrade. We checked the premises and decided we would like the change. Because the reservation was made through Booking, we had to cancel the booking done in the app. Through booking we had a notification that we had to pay a cancellation penalty of 7500 rupees, which obviously we didn't end up paying, because the change was done at their suggestion. Then, we had to pay the upgraded reservation and they told us that using the credit card it would have an extra charge of 2%. Because we don't like paying banks money and we didn't have the full amount in cash, we asked them if we could pay a quarter then and the rest later on. They said we could even pay when checking out. So far so good. During our stay the weather was very bad, and by the second day we thought we were loosing time there. We told them that we were considering the possibility of shortening our stay, even paying a penalty like the one of Booking. From then on, the problems started. They told us that whether we stayed or shortened our stay, we would have to pay the full amount. I asked them to show me their cancellation policy written down, and they told me that they didn't have one, but they could write it for us. I told them that it was a bit unusual for us not to be provided with cancellation policy and they told us they used the standard policy stablished by Booking. Then we asked them why they were charging us the full amount since booking was asking about a third of the total amount, and we told them that it was an unusual situation for us. I asked them again about something written and they showed us a paper with a cancellation penalty of 50%. Then again it didn't make sense for us, and they replied us that we had to pay the full amount because the reserved the bungalow for us, which was not true for two reasons: firstly, the one we booked was another one, secondly the resort had four other guests, 90% was empty. Nevertheless, we thought it was not worth creating a situatuon and we said reluctantly that we would have to think about what to do. Later that day I got a message through Booking saying that there was a problem in my card while charging us the cancellation penalty. At that point we were not sure if they were trying to make us pay the original cancellation of 7500 rupees or not. Maybe it was something else, but everything was strange. By then we had serious trust issues with the reception staff, but regardless, we decided to stay, because being abroad we didn't want to create any trouble. The next day we went to pay the full amount by card, and they told it would have a charge of 14%. Apparently we would have to bear the government tax, nothing made sense.
