"We just spent a spectacular week at Maria-Die and cannot say enough about how delightful our experience was. The hotel is, as other reviewers have noted, new and in great condition, and just a short walk to restaurants, shops, and the port. The location is also quiet, which is a must for us, and the guests were all very respectful and low-key as well. Breakfast is very good, with many options. The best part of all, however, was the staff: This is a small hotel. Camille, Andre, Melodie and Ariana all work different shifts throughout the day and are extremely friendly and helpful. Anything we asked, they had answers or knew how to find them. They recommended restaurants, beaches, laundry services, and things to do. They were always eager to chat with us and made us feel very much at home. We had rooms overlooking the sea, and we spent every evening watching the sunset. All in all, a terrific and unforgettable time for us. Thank you, Maria-Die!"

Hôtel Sole Mare

"The hotel is well located near a small beach and very close to the citadel; everything is within walking distance. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. The pool is nice. We booked the budget room, but this room is very poorly located because, at the hotel entrance, the window has frosted glass (when open, there's a lot of foot traffic and the smell of cigarettes from people smoking as soon as they leave the hotel; when closed, it's very dark and therefore very dark). The room is quite damp because it can't be properly ventilated. The layout makes the room dark and gives it a "boxy" feel; there's a loggia with a table and the window (it can't really be called a veranda). However, at night it's light inside because of the lights from the hotel entrance; there are no shutters, just a curtain between the room and the loggia. This room should be avoided for several nights; it's only suitable for short stays. Breakfast is good quality, but it's not self-service (one pastry and one roll, one fruit compote, one yogurt, clementine juice – no extra bread provided). Parking is available for an additional fee. The hotel is fairly quiet once guests have left; except for the last night when the night porter was quite noisy with his very late-night phone conversations!"

"We stayed at La Villa Calvi for one week. The staff were extremely thoughtful and kind. We loved sitting out at the pools and the our room was very large and comfortable. The hotel is very close to the town (about a 15 minute walk). The staff for breakfast are very outgoing and treat you like family. They always know your name and are very welcoming. We felt very taken care of. The breakfast was great and the views from the tables at breakfast are breathtaking. We also enjoyed cocktails at the same tables. In terms of improvement, it was a bit off putting the extra charges for a shuttle to town (22 euros/day for a two or three minute ride and 60-75 euros per class). The hotel is quite expensive and these charges seem unnecessary. However, we definitely would stay here again and very much loved Calvi more than anywhere else in Corsica."

"nice place, friendly staff, good location, very nice beach. No camping any more - only bungalows,... no WCs and toilettes on the place except of the ones in the accomdation. Not good if you are there with kinds and when you are coming from the beach..."

"La habitación es muy bien equipada, el hotel está muy bien situado, el hotel está muy bien situado, el hotel está muy cerca del aeropuerto de Calvi. La única cosa que podría mejorarse es el servicio en el restaurante de cena (aunque creo que como fue el comienzo de la temporada esto puede haberse mejorado)."
