"A very good surprise to end our South Africa tour. Perfectly located 15km away from Durban airport, Capital Zimbali is a huge, modern and beautiful hotel facing the Indian ocean, with lush garden and massive pools. Bedrooms are very spacious and be very comfortable. We were upgraded to a room facing the ocean with balcony. Good choice of restaurant options though both were very smoky due to poor ventilation system. Very helpful and efficient staff."

"The absolute worst place we’ve ever stayed. As a family that travels wide, we couldn’t believe this hotel. Horrible! Mold everywhere in the rooms, water damage on every wall, small room even the 2bedroom, rude staff, This smell of cigarette smoke filling our rooms in the middle of the night from the vents, our keys didn’t work every time we tried to use them, the loud music all day and night, the pool was dirty, the elevator floor feeling like it was going to break through the floor when stepped on. It reminded me of a 1900s pirate ship and smelt like one. DO NOT STAY HERE! Believe when I say to save your money and stay somewhere else."

"La habitación estaba muy bien limpia y se había dejado de limpiar. Nos quejamos de nuevo y luego fueron enviados a una tercera habitación pero el mueble tuvo daños en el agua, el tornillo de silicona había moldeado y el baño no se llenó después de la ruptura. El hotel está en una habitación de 3 estrellas, donde se encuentran los mejores huéspedes que los que se encuentran en la ciudad. El hotel se ha visto muy tranquilo durante la temporada de pico en una ciudad de vacaciones y ahora entiendo por qué."

"Our hosts were the best - nothing was too much.and we had a fantastic 7 days with them. The breakfasts were amazing in a very relaxed setting and the whole place is clean and organized with a lovely pool to cool off in. arguably the best beach on the North Coast is within 300m walking distance. the security at the guesthouse is very good and we felt safe and secure at all times. we will definitely be back to stay again. thank you for making us feel so welcome, see you soon. "We have been away for 6 weeks travelling the country, and this was the absolute worst hotel we stayed in. It should have been closed while they are doing renovations. Builders and rubble everywhere, one small lift to service guests, cleaners and builders with rubble and buckets. Filthy dirty, badly maintained, the sliding door to the outside open patio did not lock, air-conditioned did not work. Loud pumping music into the night and early in the morning around the pool, where nobody is sitting. They boast three restaurants, of which two of them share the same menu and dreadful kitchen. Absolutely not disabled friendly, surly grumpy staff at the makeshift reception on check-in. A total nightmare. It has put me off Ballito Bay completely. Absolutely horrendous."
