- no washer or dryer and also no drying rack. It was raining a lot while i was there & i had to dry my clothes by lying them on my umbrella infront of my capsule

«I had a great time at Ryokan Tsukasa in Sendai. I booked it because of its proximity to Sendai station. I was in Sendai with my friend to watch Yuzuru Hanyu's ice show and to visit the various spots in Sendai notable to him, and this Ryokan was a great base for us. The owners are friendly and warm, even though they didn't speak English, I still understood what they were trying to communicate to me well enough as the layout of the accommodations is very clear and easy to figure out, and when my friend joined me later, she speaks Japanese and was able to fill me in on any details I might have missed. There is a Japanese style breakfast provided every morning freshly prepared with any choice of egg you prefer, and it was one of my highlights of staying here, it was so filling and delicious. Overall, I highly recommend staying here if you ever visit Sendai!»

«We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Tetora. We were looking for a Japanese styled room in Sendai and couldn’t find anything suitable and close to the airport. Tetora was a great find - 20mins to airport, huge Japanese tatami room, lovely onsen, incredible value for money. But the best part was the service. Mr Suzuki the evening manager was the kindest friendliest man we met in 4 weeks in Japan. We will be back next year for sure.»

A charming, Japanese inn, with everything beautifully traditional. Lovely-quality yukatas are provided for guests to wear during their stay — not unusual in Japan, but these were noticeably better quality than we have experienced elsewhere.
The ryokan is run by a husband-and-wife team, who were eager to please and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived.
We enjoyed a delicious Japanese dinner and breakfast, both served in the privacy of our own room. It was wonderfully relaxing and gave us the feeling of being guests in a Japanese home rather than simply staying in a hotel.
Our bath was prepared for us as soon as we arrived, which was a lovely welcome after our bike ride. The bathroom is shared, as is common in smaller Japanese guesthouses, but we had no complaints whatsoever.
Overall, this was a genuinely authentic experience and one we thoroughly enjoyed.
Highly recommended — and a lovely place to reach by bicycle!

The building itself doesn't look like much and possibly even looks sleazy, but the room itself is great, almost like small apartment. Very cozy once the heater is turned on. Clean as well. About a ten minute walk from the Ishinomaki JR station. The room is also not so small compared to Japanese business hotels. Staff at the front desk were accommodating, helpful, and friendly.
Would recommend and would stay there again when I'm in the Ishinomaki/Onagawa area.

This place is a rustic ryokan with stories. While it is not luxurious ryokan, but I had great experiences. Room is rather small but that’s all we needed. There are public bath and private baths available. I enjoyed using public bath.
Dinner and breakfast were good. Not overwhelming but very tasty.
Staffs were nice and very attentive. At the last day, grandma came and greeted us during departure. The ryokan also offered to drop us off at the train station.

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Tetora. We were looking for a Japanese styled room in Sendai and couldn’t find anything suitable and close to the airport. Nice traditional Japanese hotel. The room was conveniently located on the first floor.
The only things to keep in mind there as a foreigner (very broken English at best). Using a translation device or app in your phone is essential for communication. The room we stayed did not have a private shower. If a shower is needed it will be in a communal shower area. The room does have a toilet and sink though.
