Estación de Tren del Norte
Fine stay for 2 nights when arriving in Kunming. Location is nice, although hard to find the exact location. Be well prepared and have the hotel phone number ready. Good restaurants and coffee shops nearby and walking distance to the park. Smoking is allowed in the rooms which is the downside, otherwise everything fine.

La habitación está limpia e higiénica, el diseño de la decoración es muy bueno, la cama es muy cómoda para dormir y la señal de la red inalámbrica es muy buena. El jefe vio que éramos personas mayores y nos arregló especialmente una habitación muy tranquila. Cuando salimos a jugar, nos envió especialmente a la estación de metro. Nos conmovió mucho y seguiremos quedándonos la próxima vez.

VERY DISAPPOINTING! Overall: The inn is nice and confortable but the service is terrible. Service made us feel very unwelcome and ruined the experience. Room: humble but comfortable room. You can ask for a heater, which is very needed in the winter months (we stayed here in late November). Be aware that some rooms are marked as “Mountain View” but in fact you’re in a covered area so won’t really have a view (pictures attached) - we booked one of these rooms but since it was low season we were lucky to get a free upgrade and get one of the few rooms with a nice view. Cleanliness: the rooms are relatively clean, but we had a mouldy shower curtain (see pictures). Amenities: the restaurant / front desk area is very nice and cosy. Service: terrible! Every time we needed their assistance it felt as if we were disturbing them from sitting by the fire (even though they barely had any customers and it seemed as if they were not busy at all). We are international traveler’s that don’t speak Chinese and the service was unhelpful and not welcoming. We’ve had no issues anywhere else in our trip in China, this was definitely the worst we have experienced. After reading other reviews it seems that the boss is very helpful, but he wasn’t there when we stayed at the inn and it appears that the workers don’t do a good job when he is not around. The workers didn’t advise us that we needed crampons for one of the hikes we did (hikers from other inns told us that these were a must) so we had to reluctantly stay one more night to complete the hike. When we booked another night, one service member told us a price and another service person told us a different (lower, almost 100cny lower) price. We were then charged the first (higher) price, which made us feel quite uncomfortable. The day after when we tried to rent crampons from the inn the lady told us that it was 20 cny to rent per day, and that in other places it was 40 cny per day. We decided not to rent them because they looked in very bad condition. We later found out that you can buy them brand new at “meets meili snow mountain” for 35cny and use them for the 2 hikes. We also had to rent hiking poles even though they provide them for free at the hotel given that the ones they had didn’t look in good condition and weren’t tall enough for us (the lady at the desk got frustrated with us because of this). Overall, very unhelpful, impatient service - we felt extremely uncomfortable because of it. If you’re an international traveller and don’t speak much Chinese stay away!! Food: was good but small portions compared to other places. We ended up eating most of our meals elsewhere because the service made us feel very unwelcome. Limited breakfast options, there’s many more options at “meets meili snow mountain”.

La habitación es muy bonita. Me he alojado aquí durante mucho tiempo. Está convenientemente ubicado en el centro de la ciudad y puede ir a cualquier parte. Xiao Gao en la recepción es muy considerado y nos ayudó mucho. Me quedaré en su casa cuando regrese de Lijiang dentro de dos días.

Es la primera vez en mi vida que me alojo en un albergue juvenil, es una gran experiencia. Como viajaba solo, escuché de amigos que los albergues juveniles son un lugar mágico donde puedes conocer gente interesante. El jefe es muy simpático y entusiasta. Corté sandía para que todos la comieran por la noche y cociné batatas por la mañana, que estaban muy dulces. Todos se sentaron juntos a preparar té y charlar, lo cual fue muy entretenido. Las personas que conocí durante el viaje agregaron una calidez diferente al viaje. Gracias por brindarme diferentes experiencias y recuerdos. Volveré si tengo la oportunidad.

The service at Dongming Hotel (Changshui Airport) is exceptional and very friendly. They offer free airport pick up and drop off, making it convenient for travelers. The rooms are kept tidy and clean, and they are equipped with amenities such as a TV and air conditioner. Despite any language barriers, the staff is able to communicate effectively through WeChat, which can translate both Chinese-English and English-Chinese. This level of attention to detail and convenience makes the hotel an excellent choice for travelers passing through Changshui Airport.

El B&B está a sólo más de un kilómetro de la estación de tren de alta velocidad de Pu'er y se ofrecen servicios de recogida y regreso. La habitación es limpia y espaciosa. Lo que más me gusta es la vista al jardín de té fuera de la ventana. El baño está separado de las zonas húmedas y secas, ¡genial! Aunque hay carreteras alrededor, también está rodeada de montañas de té y estanques de peces, además, los cerezos en flor han estado en plena floración recientemente en invierno, lo que hace que caminar sea muy agradable. El B&B ofrece comidas para el personal al mediodía y por la noche por 15 yuanes por huésped. Hubo dos ocasiones en las que no quise salir a comer ni pedir comida para llevar, así que lo probé y fue muy asequible. El personal del B&B es entusiasta y responde a todas sus preguntas. En definitiva, una experiencia muy satisfactoria. Espero quedarme más tiempo la próxima vez.

**Review of my Stay in Lijiang:** I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming hotel in Lijiang, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the breathtaking view of the great mountains visible from the rooftop terrace. The sight alone made me feel like I was stepping into a painting. Upon checking in, I was warmly greeted by the hotel owner, who is Chinese and speaks excellent English. His hospitality and attentiveness immediately put me at ease, and throughout my stay, he went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. From recommending local attractions to arranging transportation, he was always there to assist me. The accommodations themselves were comfortable and well-appointed. My room was clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploring. The hotel's attention to detail was evident in every aspect. One of the highlights of my stay was undoubtedly the rooftop, the panoramic view of the mountains was truly mesmerizing. It was the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the natural beauty of Lijiang. In addition to the stellar accommodations, the hotel's location was also ideal. Situated in a quaint and charming neighborhood, it was within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, and attractions. I appreciated being able to immerse myself in the local culture and explore the bustling streets of Lijiang. Overall, my experience at this hotel exceeded all expectations. From the stunning views to the impeccable service, every aspect of my stay was truly exceptional. Los huéspedes (pumi, Little Li) son muy amables y muy útiles, incluso ayudan a acompañar a uno de nuestros amigos al hospital que se enferma. Recomendado un buen restaurante y tomar fotos, ayuda a transportar el equipaje del taxi al hotel. El calefactor (condón) funciona bien, también se proporciona un chaleco eléctrico. La ubicación es muy buena, está en la antigua ciudad, muchos restaurantes alrededor del hotel, es a sólo 20 metros de la entrada de la antigua ciudad/taxis de punto de salida. Valor por dinero.
