We booked for one night, for after our journey from Zambia on the TAZARA train. (We didn’t have much info to go on but anyone from the UK who grew up in the 70s or 80s will understand the appeal) We knew the train was running over twelve hours late but hadn’t expected to be turned out of our bunks on arrival at 03:30. That being the case we made a beeline for the Rainbow in the hope that they’d also be able to put as up for the night before we’d booked, which they could (of course we had to pay for the extra night). Staff were nice, rooms and beds comfortable, and a surprisingly good breakfast (we’d been lead to believe it was continental but there were pancakes, fried potatoes, baked beans, noodles, and eggs cooked to order). If you want a fridge in your room I think you need to book a de-luxe room. Also a good location, very close to the Zanzibar ferry. The hotel also offers an airport transfer service, a bit on the expensive side but hassle free.

I spent one night in the Chelsea Hotel to do some sightseeing in Dar and it was very good for that purpose. The hotel was a little bit dated, but otherwise completely up to the standards which I expect from a hotel. It's located not far from the clock tower, which to my understanding pinpoints the centerpoint of the city. The actual sights I went to see started further away, about 20 minutes by foot. The room was adequate in size and had good aircon. I had a twin room. I first tried sleeping in the bed further away from the aircon, but the air blew directly there, so I had to move to the bed right under the aircon unit. The hotel was located close to a busy road and the honking of the cars could be heard up to the sixth floor. However it wasn't bad. The breakfast was ok. It didn't have a very wide selection, but the items I tried were tasty and of good quality. Also the setting in the restaurant was pleasant. The only negative I have to say is the extraorbitant exchange rate. I had paid my room rate in advance, but I had to pay the city tax (1.50 USD) at the hotel. I asked to pay in Tsh and had to pay 7000 Tsh, equivalent to about 3$. My loss was only 1.50$, so it wasn't a big deal in my case, but the principle left a bad taste in my mouth. If the room rate would have been 1.50$ higher but the city tax 3500 Tsh, I would have left as a happy customer. The hotel offered airport transfer for 42000 Tsh. It was quite pricy. The fixed price at the official taxi stand at the airport was 30000 Tsh. On the way back to the airport I used a rideshare app to get my transfer, it cost Tsh 12000.

Exceptional Experience! I recently had the pleasure of staying at your hotel, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, the rooms were immaculate and comfortable, and the location was perfect. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a wide variety of options to suit all tastes. The hotel's amenities were top-notch, and the service was impeccable. There should improve on their breakfast . I like tea or coffee but on the morning of 1 January the tea i was given if i am not mistaken with measurements it was 150mls in a very tiny cup. I think there should be an upgrade on quality of breakfast which i think was down graded compared to the previous breakfast i had in August 2022. At that time and day in August it was a buffet

En el check-in en Ibra me mostró pocas habitaciones antes de elegir lo que quería, me aseguró que estaba cómodo, el desayuno cocinado por Grace era perfecto, ella es hermosa y así es todo el personal, y Joel el gerente es muy agradable y bienvenido. El bar es popular en la zona y la ubicación es perfecta. No hay ruido, las habitaciones son tranquilas.

The hotel's room is comfortable : there is an air conditioner that works very well. Every thing is clean especially the toilets. The bed is smooth and the T.V is interesting to watch. What I liked mostly about the hotel is their hospitality and service. A good place to stay in Dar Es Salaam. ❤❤❤

It‘s a fairly new hotel and part of Marriott Bonvoy. I enjoyed to stay there a lot, the staff is very friendly and attentive. The breakfast buffet is nice and with various options. The pool has a nice size, however lacking a view. Talking about view, some rooms have nice sea view. Others have pool view but you also see the green landscape which is nice too. The rooms are pretty big, kind of small TV though, but they feel very comfortable and the bed is great too. Also USB and an international power plug at the night stand, which still a lot of other hotels don‘t have. Rooms are cleaned very well. The gym is very basic, only machines for cardio and a few weights. Ate dinner at the restaurant several times and always got good food. There is an area called Slipway just 5 walking minutes away, that also provides great food options and a bit of nightlife.

Con un ”espacio agradable” para moverse en la habitación donde también había ”una buena selección” de canales de noticias y cine en la TV, fue un agradable estancia en este lugar y donde se añadió al confort fue la conveniencia del ”restaurante de techo” donde además del desayuno (que era una ”gran omeleta”) fue donde también comí la mayoría de mis almuerzos y cenas durante mi estancia (algunas variedades de Biryani disponibles). Y sí, también de conveniencia ”en torno a este hotel” son una serie de mini-grandes tiendas, un gran mercado húmedo tipo lugar semi-exterior con lados abiertos, un pequeño lado de la calle ”totalmente interior” restaurante (no directamente alrededor de aquí, pero a un solo bloque de distancia y sí, que probablemente no es el único en la proximidad de este lugar), la oficina de autobuses para el autobús Kilimanjaro Express (a unos bloques de distancia donde llegué en mi autobús a Arusha bastante temprano por la mañana), y un hospital para el PCR (aproximadamente un 5-minute paseo después de la primera inscripción en el sitio web del Ministerio de Salud de Tanzania y el pago en el banco que también está bien situado en la calle a través de este hotel).

We had a beautiful time at the Amariah Apartments, the space accommodated our family of 12 which was great! We had access to the pool, and it was child friendly, so the kids were able to have a lovely time swimming. In addition, we had dinner on the compound, and they made it so special for us. We brought it New Year's in style!
