Last year I had the most wonderful stay at Menina Colina, and was excited to return. Unfortunately I now wish I had reserved elsewhere, as it has been nothing but a disappointment. Prices are so much higher than a year ago, but I thought I got what was a good deal on the garden room. Turns out it is greatly overpriced for what is offered, as it has none of the exquisite design or attention to detail that the interior rooms have. It also seems to be neglected in terms of maintenance. The coffee machine was leaking, and after reporting it, it was made out to be my fault as I was using it incorrectly. I had to physically show a member of staff the leaked water for them to agree to replace it. I was really annoyed that they felt that they needed to demonstrate to me how it works rather than just replacing it immediately. The next disappointment was that the room was initially not serviced at all, and no explanation was given. When you are paying $165 for a mediocre room (not even including breakfast), one would at the very least expect the bins to be emptied. The bathroom also had a terrible smell that permeated the room, and mosquitoes were a problem too. Management did offer me lunch or attendance of their fado show, but none of these arrangements fitted into my busy programme. I thought a small financial compensation would have made more sense. That did not happen, and nothing further was mentioned or discussed on check-out. The final issue was the online check-out which they require. When I tried to complete it, my bill was for my entire stay, although 3 of the 4 nights had already been paid months in advance. So my conclusion is unfortunately that Menina Colina’s standards have dropped significantly, and that it is overpriced for the lack of attention to detail that is evident in several areas.

I recently spent four nights at Aparthotel Oporto Sol, and while my stay was overall okay, it came with a few drawbacks. First, the location is a bit outside the main area of Porto, which required some extra effort to get into the heart of the city. While the surroundings were quiet and less crowded, I did find myself relying on public transport or taxis more than I would have liked. One of the main issues was the absence of air conditioning in the bedroom. During my stay, the temperatures were warm, and it made things uncomfortable at night. Opening the windows was not an option due to the presence of mosquitoes outside, which meant I struggled to find a comfortable sleeping temperature. On the positive side, the apartment itself was spacious and generally clean. The amenities were adequate for my needs, and the staff was friendly and helpful, albeit a few blocks over. I appreciated the kitchenette, which allowed me to prepare some of my own meals during my stay. In summary, while my stay at Aparthotel Oporto Sol had its merits, the lack of air conditioning and its location outside the main area impacted my overall experience. If you're sensitive to heat or prefer to be in the city center, you may want to consider other options. Otherwise, it serves as a decent accommodation for those seeking a quieter spot.

El hotel se encuentra en la zona de Trindade, muy cerca de la zona turística de Oporto y a 5 min caminando de la Avenida Aliados. Hotel moderno y limpio con buenas instalaciones. El penúltimo día de nuestras vacaciones en Portugal tuvimos un accidente y el personal del hotel nos ayudó a comunicarnos con el hospital, ya que nosotros no hablamos portugués. Personalmente, recomiendo este hotel por su excelente ubicación y servicios, pero sobre todo, por el trato y la calidad del personal y servicio.

I travel from Malaysia to Europe all the way by train, please watch my YouTube Lonely Railway Explorer to know more. Before I booked this hotel, I read a lot of negative reviews in Trip.com, but I know all of the bad reviews are nonsense. As a professional traveller, I responsible to say, this hotel are worth of money, this room rate with private bath room, double bed, even they prepared safe for guests, and the cleanliness are 9/10, and just opposite the railway station, metro, location 10/10. If you stay here, I recommend you have your meal at restaurant just next-door before here, Churrasqueira da Estação de Campanhã, the grill and the rice you definitely need it, especially if you're Asian, but non halal. I will rate this hostel 9/10, because no hairdryer, and the bed sheet got smell, I think is because no sunlight. And the front desk family super kind.

Best ever decision to book in this hotel after reading many positive reviews. Situated with the tourist attraction area itself with beautiful window view of the Douro river and Luis Bridge. We walked to all the places of interest and even walked across Luis bridge to Gaia. So impressed by the convenient location of this hotel that is closed to all public transport. Even though with all the restaurants and shops below our room, surprising it was very quiet after like 9pm and we had a comfortable sleep. Many thanks to Diego who checked us in and allowed us to leave our bags to be picked up later. Photos below were taken from our room window. Will of course recommend friends or family to book this hotel

¡Servicio de 5 estrellas! ¡Todo el equipo! Excelente ubicación, limpieza impecable, buen desayuno y el hecho de que los huéspedes puedan utilizar las máquinas de café, jugo y agua durante las 24 horas marcan la diferencia, sin duda.

Localización increíble, en medio de todo lo que necesitas ver & todos los restaurantes, patios, música en vivo, etc. The hotel & the room is small but that’s expected with a historical place like this. Nos quedamos en la habitación #2 y tenía una ventana frente a la pared histórica de este edificio, así que no cuentan con mucha vista o luz natural! Un poco de altura pero de nuevo que es Porto, apenas puedes ir a la calle sin alturas y descensos! El propietario Maria y el gerente Martha están atentos y cuidan y garantizan que tenga una gran experiencia con su estancia. Cuando llegamos a la ciudad se ofreció una torta portuguesa de bienvenida que era deliciosa y también Martha dijo que puedes probarte el vino portuario (también super saboroso) en cualquier momento,

Frente a la entrada principal del hotel está el aeropuerto, y hay un autobús lanzadera al aeropuerto cada 20 minutos por 2 euros. Hay aire acondicionado y la habitación es muy cálida. Indicado para personas que tienen que coger un vuelo a primera hora de la mañana.

Beautifully simple suite with a kitchen that saved me money by having all that I needed to make my meals in my own place. Daily cleaning meant I didn't even have to do the dishes. The service here was fantastic, although it would have been helpful to know not to show up at the apartments, but their main desk which was 2 blocks away. This could be clarified in the booking instructions next time. Location is only a 7min walk from the train station. 15 min from the old town center with a small supermarket just 3 blocks away. Check-in was fast, as well as check-out. Secure code to open the main door to the building, with elevator or stairs too.

”¡La experiencia de la estadía fue buena! El desayuno no fue muy variado, el transporte fue conveniente y las instalaciones circundantes estaban completas.
