Supongo que este hotel era un gran hotel, pero ahora es un gran hotel para ver la ciudad.
Aquí está el hotel, el hotel está muy bien situado.
Muy bien situado para romper un viaje desde el norte de Escocia hasta el sur de Inglaterra.
Parking un poco limitado y un extra £7 por noche, pero lo que puedes esperar de un hotel de centro de la ciudad.

El hotel estaba un poco anticuado, pero hacía calor y la cama era muy cómoda.
Había todo lo necesario en la habitación y la ducha tenía abundante agua caliente.
El desayuno era un poco limitado, pero había un buffet frío y caliente, zumos y bebidas calientes.
Me animó a continuar mi viaje.
No tengo ninguna queja; el personal fue muy amable y atento, y siempre nos saludaban al pasar por los pasillos.

El hotel se encuentra a 5 minutos a pie de la estación y a pocos minutos del centro de la ciudad. Había muchos pubs y restaurantes cerca de los cuales era conveniente. El hotel era limpio y cómodo.

It's a service station Hotel which has got the standard McDonald's Costa ect however not near much else for the money you pay only worth it for the lake which is stunning.
The hotel receptionist was lovely and friendly the room was a little disappointing, bath very shallow and wall tiles painted white with what looks like either the wrong kind of paint or cheap tile paint as all peeling off so if it had been 20 pounds cheaper I would have felt like I got what I paid for overall not bad and bed was very comfortable.

Room is as described. Heating was cranked up which we appreciated, but also had windows we could open. Great doorway location to the rest of the lake district.

UUsuario invitadoI have grave misgivings about hotels in the busiest parts of the Lake District, especially at holiday times. Obviously they will be relentlessly overcrowded, with harassed and unfriendly staff. I’ve wanted to go back to the Proper Lake District for a while though so took a risk on the King’s Head. It’s easy to find on the ear popping main road up from Grasmere, just beyond the impressive hulk of Steel Fell, close to Thirlemere. Parking anywhere in the Lakes is hideous and expensive. Not here. Relaxed and plenty of room. It’s a long building with a pleasant bar restaurant area and beer garden. I found a rather pleasant residents lounge where a lady called Jo checked me in and made me feel welcome. It does get busy with passing trade but the staff look after their residents. They flogged me decent real ale and Jura whisky (the proper stuff). Breakfast is briskly table served from a menu and is well presented. I didn’t eat otherwise there but the food is popular and well priced. The road outside is busy and a bit of a racetrack, and the occasional fighter jet roars between the mountains on low altitude practice, but the relentless bleating of the sheep opposite soon returns things to normal. I was a little sorry to depart, but the manager said he hoped I would come again. I believe I will, and will even bring my wife.

MmarissahuoA pie puede llegar a la estación de tren y al centro de la ciudad, el cuarto es muy limpio, el desayuno se enviará a la habitación según el tiempo acordado. Hay varias opciones para los huevos, mis huevos de uva y el cebada caliente, muy adecuado para la comida china. También hay autobuses directos a Windermere y Keswich.

UUsuario invitadoI arrived on a stormy night in the lake district - on entering the hotel I was met with a warm glow from the log fire and a very warm welcome from the receptionist.
As the hotel dining room was about to close, a room was sorted and the kitchen kept open for an evening meal - a delicious melt in the mouth steak was a pleasure after a 6 hour
drive from the south of england, washed down with a welcome glass of Shiraz.
The bed was very comfortable, the room had a large bath and separate shower cubicle and copious hot water.
The decor and fittings were in sympathy with the age and history of the hotel, a pleasant change from the blandness of more modern mass market hotels.
The staff were very friendly and it was a pleasure to be assisted without having to use automated impersonal systems.
I will not hesitate to stay at the hotel again when I am next in the area.

On the plus side the food . evening meal was good breakfast was fab …. Entertainment was good. Bar was busy people dancing throughout the night every one enjoying their self’s

UUsuario invitadoThe hotel I was originally booked in had a flood so at the last minute I had to find another one, I found Arkale lodge and it didn’t disappoint, the rooms are pretty basic, but extremely clean which in my book is more important than a fancy room. And certainly good enough for the price I paid, the gentleman that showed me around was friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was from 7 which was perfect for my continuation of my Hadrians wall walk.
The Breakfast was included in the room price and was exceptional (full English, which I easily adapted as a non meat eater)
It was plentiful, delicious and freshly made. And a great start to my long tiring day
