Undiscovered gem of a hotel near San Pedro. Pros: We were looking for a place on the lower end of the price spectrum that was a one night romantic getaway for two, that I could also use my free trip coins at toward the cost of the room. Preferably including breakfast and a swimming pool with jacuzzi 😉 Not much to ask! We booked one of the cheaper rooms on the ground floor. Before check in we took an Uber to San Pedro mall to do some essential shopping and see a movie. Then we checked in and I relaxed in the jacuzzi under the San José night sky while my husband enjoyed a full workout in the gym/weights room. TV with cable was great for my husband who enjoyed the football while I enjoyed the hot shower and relaxed in the bed afterwards. We had an amazingly comfortable sleep and a delicious breakfast in the morning of gallo pinto, fresh tropical fruits, freshly squeezed watermelon juice and hot coffee. A generous check out time of 12pm meant we had more than enough time to get our things together and leave when it suited. Cons: Not many cons at this price point and value. The guy at the desk was a bit weird when we asked him for a second glass for water as there was only one in the room but not a big deal. We also had to ask him for the TV remote. The towels were a bit small like a mini dress on me after my shower. But good quality (with a third extra towel for the jacuzzi) and high quality bed linen. It also is in a slightly rough looking neighborhood but this is not a problem if you travel to and from the hotel by Uber or use a hire car (which you can park privately inside the property). Overall impression: The other photos on trip.com and similar booking sites do not do this hotel justice - it looks far better in person. It has real character since it is a restored historic hotel from an era bygone, but that is why everything is such high quality from the bed linen to the floor tiles. Everything is also in good shape and freshly painted. There a little hidden nooks around the hotel that make it very charming. The breakfast area is lovely and the jacuzzi, pool and water slide were a real highlight. We WILL be back.

Fantastic hotel, looks different. It is traditional design with beautiful drawings. Good wine in the bar.

Hôtel bien placé pour aller ce balader dans l’avenue centrale, proche de tout à pied, un parking payant est proche dans la rue derrière pour votre voiture afin d’être tranquille pour 1000 crc par heure.

My wife and I stayed here a few nights both at the beginning and end of our three-week trip to Costa Rica. The location is attractive as it is very easy to get to the city center, and very near the newly completed ring road which goes all around the city. This is a big plus, since the traffic in San Jose (and Costa Rica in general) can be truly horrendous. We would have liked to have laundry services, which are only available by appointment at certain times and days. Breakfast was simple but good. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful.

Parque del Lago Boutique Hotel is a well-equipped hotel in a great location, making it a convenient base for exploring San José. The staff were professional, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms and facilities are well maintained and offer everything needed for a comfortable visit. The only area that could be improved is the breakfast buffet, which was somewhat average and lacked the warmth and character that the rest of the hotel provides. Overall, a pleasant stay with good value and an excellent location.

Reservé una habitación separada con baño exterior. Este hotel tiene dos edificios al otro lado de la calle. Hay una cocina común y una piscina al otro lado de la calle. El edificio en el que me alojé era relativamente tranquilo y tenía café gratis.

La sala de gimnasio y piscina estaban sorprendentes, pero esperan que mientras la habitación era grande, era un poco vieja pero creo que están mejorando en proceso. Situado justo detrás de un centro de vacaciones que le ha hecho fácil recoger/deshacerse y hay opciones de comida y un supermercado justo fuera que era bueno.

Un poco difícil llegar debido al tráfico de San José. Pero es muy agradable, con un excelente bar y restaurante.

The hotel is a lot smaller than the pictures. The room is also small but has great shower and comfortable beds. There is no free parking, the reception will provide a voucher and you need to pay $7 to park next door. The hotel location is awesome, you can walk to most of the attractions. Breakfast buffet is great.

El albergue está amueblado con mucho gusto y estilo y está muy bien situado en el centro de la ciudad, por lo que se puede llegar andando a los principales museos y teatros, así como a numerosos bares, cafeterías y restaurantes. Es un albergue, por lo que no puedes esperar paz absoluta, pero no me pareció una molestia. El ruido de la calle es insignificante. El personal es muy amable y servicial, todo está limpio. En coche desde el aeropuerto, el trayecto dura unos 40 minutos fuera de las horas punta.
