Overall, this was a very mixed experience. There were so many things I genuinely loved about this place, but unfortunately one major issue completely changed our stay. The hotel is a family-run property in the middle of the grasslands, and from the moment we arrived we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. The owners were incredibly kind, making us feel at home right away. My son even spent time playing with the owner's child, sharing toys and feeding the goats on their small farm. It was a lovely, authentic experience that made our stay feel very personal. The accommodation itself is made up of traditional yurt-style tents, which are charming and full of character. Our tent had a comfortable double bed for my wife and me, plus a single bed for our son. The bed was comfortable, the view was beautiful, and one feature we especially enjoyed was the skylight in the roof. It can be opened and closed with a remote control, allowing you to look up at the stars at night, which creates a truly magical atmosphere. The tent was also equipped with air conditioning and heating, making it comfortable in different weather conditions. The bathroom was relatively new, although it had a few minor plumbing issues, but nothing that significantly affected our stay. The owners also recommended a nearby horse ranch just next to the hotel, where we enjoyed a wonderful horseback riding experience. Since we went in the evening after the busiest hours, we paid only 80 RMB for two horses for our family of three for a 30-minute ride, accompanied by friendly local guides. It was a fantastic experience and one of the highlights of our trip. Another outstanding feature is the restaurant next to the hotel. The food was simply exceptional. We had grilled goat ribs that were honestly the best I've ever eaten. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and perfectly cooked. The service was fast, the atmosphere was relaxed, and it was a wonderful place to enjoy dinner with my family after a day exploring the grasslands. Unfortunately, the biggest issue with this hotel has nothing to do with the hotel itself—it is the evening entertainment throughout the surrounding area. Every night there are outdoor shows with bonfires, performances, and group activities, which are enjoyable and create a lively atmosphere. Fireworks and other entertainment are also fun for families and children. However, once the shows end, the music becomes unbearably loud. It is so loud that many guests were covering their ears, and even children were uncomfortable standing nearby. The hotel's own entertainment ended around 10:00 p.m., which would have been acceptable. The real problem was that several neighboring hotels continued blasting extremely loud music until around 11:00 p.m. or later. Because these beautiful yurt tents provide very little sound insulation, the noise travels directly inside the rooms. At one point I had to call Ctrip customer service, and the music outside was so loud that we couldn't even hear each other while I was inside the tent. I actually had to move into the bathroom just to have a conversation. After driving more than 500 kilometers that day, we had chosen this destination to relax, enjoy nature, and experience the peace and quiet of the grasslands. Instead, it felt like being next to an outdoor nightclub. We had originally planned to stay for two nights, possibly even three, but after the first night we decided to cancel the remaining night and move to a hotel closer to the city simply so we could get some proper rest. It was disappointing because everything else about this place had exceeded our expectations. I don't believe this is entirely the responsibility of this hotel's owners. They were wonderful hosts, and everything they personally managed was excellent. However, I do think there needs to be better coordination among all the nearby hotels. We went there to stargaze but that didn't work out cuz the sky was cloudy, and filled with smoke from all the fireworks we and everyone else were launching. I thought I would be disappointed not being able to see the stars and milky way on a new moon but my kids and I had a blast launching celebration balls and other colorful fireworks, and dancing with the locals around a bonfire. Super festive place! And, there's horse-riding nearby. If you do come here for stargazing, the hotels in this area make it too bright for stargazing unless you have a car to drive further to deserted and unlit places.

Extremely new hotel, clean and modern design and huge rooms. I enjoyed the stay a lot. The only downside is the location which is not close to subway. So i usually take taxi which accounts for the biggest part of spending other than flight and hotel. The easiest and cheapest way is to take taxi to the Wanda mall which is 7 min taxi away and take subway from there. Other than this everything is good.

The hotel location is convenient and near touristic sites. The staff is very nice and helpful. The breakfast is great and has tasty Mongolian milk tea and delicious Shaomai. The coffee machine at the reception is free of access and very tasty. A very nice stay, it is the second time I have stayed in this hotel, and next time I come to Hohhot I will here again for sure! 我很满意！

Pleasant Surprise at The Orange Hotel in Tongliao, Inner Mongolia I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Orange Hotel in Tongliao, Inner Mongolia, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted with warm smiles and excellent service. The hotel's location is convenient, providing easy access to local attractions and business districts. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with modern amenities that added to the overall comfort of my stay. One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's breakfast at ground floor, which offered a variety of European continental and Chinese dishes that catered to different tastes. The staff was attentive and provided excellent service throughout my dining experience. The Orange Hotel also has a range of facilities, including a gym and laundry, which I took advantage of during my stay. These facilities were knowledgeable and helped me save time on the trip. Overall, my stay at The Orange Hotel in Tongliao, Inner Mongolia, was a pleasant surprise. The combination of excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and convenient location made it a memorable experience. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

Al principio dudaba si quedarme aquí o no, pero ahora que lo pienso, ¡resultó ser una de las mejores decisiones de mi viaje! Tras planificar cuidadosamente el viaje, llegar fue bastante sencillo. Para quienes vengan de Hohhot, esta es la ruta que seguí: 1. Tomar un tren desde Hohhot hasta la estación de Dalate Oeste. 2. Tomar un Didi desde la estación de Dalate Oeste hasta la recepción del Huailian Tourism Resort (unos 40 minutos, aproximadamente 50 CNY). 3. Comprar el paquete Whistling Dune Bay por 176 RM, que incluye la entrada, el teleférico, el acceso a la isla Yuesha y un paseo en camello. 4. Los huéspedes del resort tienen acceso a un carril especial para el teleférico, que tarda unos 8 minutos. 5. Al llegar, tomar el jeep del resort hasta la zona de alojamiento. 6. Disfrutar de actividades como deslizarse por la arena, nadar en la piscina, observar las estrellas y simplemente experimentar la tranquila atmósfera del desierto por la noche. 7. Continúe el viaje desde la estación de Dalate Oeste hasta Ordos. Lo que más me impresionó fue la hospitalidad. Desde la comunicación por WeChat antes de la llegada hasta el equipo de recepción y el personal del resort, todos fueron increíblemente serviciales, amables y acogedores. La experiencia nocturna fue realmente espectacular. El desierto se vuelve tan tranquilo después del atardecer: solo se escucha el sonido de la arena, mientras que sobre ti se extiende un cielo repleto de innumerables estrellas y una hermosa luna. This is exactly what a Grassland stay should be, and more! Our time at Xilamuren Grassland Tourism Resort will forever be etched in my heart. From the moment we arrived, the owner welcomed us like family, going above and beyond to recommend attractions, arrange tickets, and even personally drive us to the sites. Where else do you find service like that—done with a constant smile and thoughtful touches like free bottled water to keep us refreshed? Staying in a traditional yurt on the open grassland is an experience beyond words. There is something grounding, peaceful, and almost spiritual about waking up to endless green horizons instead of concrete grey, hearing the soft rustle of the prairie wind, and watching the morning light sweep across the landscape. This isn’t just accommodation...it’s an authentic encounter with the beauty of Inner Mongolia. Anyone visiting the region simply must experience this once in a lifetime.

The room was somewhat small; however, as I was visiting for a business trip, it met my needs and provided a comfortable stay. The location was ideal and made getting around very easy.
