The best 4 days ever! Highly recommend this hotel! We were a group of 8 people and had an unforgettable stay here. The hotel owner is one of the kindest and most helpful people we’ve ever met. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us warmly, gave us great local recommendations, and even personally drove us to each destination! On the day we went hiking in the mountains, he provided us with free walking sticks. He helped us with everything — arranging transfers, buying entrance tickets, and planning the route. He also allowed us to check in early and check out late, which was incredibly convenient. I shared room 8303 with my friend. The room is designed for two people and had two separate beds, both very comfortable to sleep in. There was also an air conditioner in the room, which made our stay even more pleasant. Another thing we’re super grateful for — the owner kindly let us do laundry. After hiking in the mountains, our clothes definitely needed it! The view from the window was absolutely stunning. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, full of natural light, and have plenty of power outlets. The showers were great, with clean water and convenient showerheads. There were all the necessary toiletries: body soap, shampoo — we recommend bringing your own conditioner if needed. The hotel can also prepare food for guests. We really enjoyed the tomato and egg noodles — delicious and homey. There’s also a local café nearby where we had breakfast a few times. The hotel is located in the mountains, perfectly positioned for visiting nearby attractions, waterfalls, hiking spots, and even riding quad bikes. A tip: bring a good quality raincoat if you’re visiting during rainy weather! The owner speaks basic English, and even though it wasn’t easy for him, he patiently explained everything to us in English with so much kindness and care. He truly went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable — even helped us search for a lost phone in the mountains! He also called us in advance before our arrival to confirm our plans and helped arrange a transfer to the train station after check-out. We wish him and his family good health, happiness, and prosperity. He and this hotel deserve not just 5 stars, but 1000! Wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. La primera vez que vivía en el pueblo, es realmente super sorpresa. Hay un parque infantil aquí, muy adecuado para viajar por los padres. A lo largo de las escaleras, la pintura del pasillo me ilumina de frente y tiene un espíritu de arte. El nombre de la habitación también es particularmente interesante. Nuestra habitación es el corazón de los niños de tres camas. Esta vez la habitación elegida es con una pequeña chimenea, quería darle una sorpresa al bebé. For a three-diamond hotel charging almost 400 CNY per night, I expected a little more attention to detail. The room itself was spacious, clean, and tidy, with a large panoramic window overlooking a pleasant row of trees. There was also a nice tea table, which made the room feel cozy. One detail I genuinely appreciated was the care given to the old tree in the garden. Seeing it supported with an IV drip system was both unusual and heartwarming—it showed that someone actually cares about preserving it instead of simply replacing it. However, a surprising number of small issues gradually added up and affected the overall experience. I booked a room with a bathtub, but the bathtub turned out to be rather small and leaked unless a disposable plastic liner was used. There were no bath salts, bubble bath, or any other bath amenities, while the shampoo and shower gel bottles were only 50 ml each. The room initially had only one 1.5-liter bottle of drinking water. I had to call the front desk to ask for regular 500 ml bottles and tea. There was neither tea nor coffee in the room upon arrival. Breakfast was the biggest disappointment. There was almost no meat except pork baozi. Boiled eggs were available, but there were no traditional soy-marinated eggs. On the positive side, the purple sweet baozi were delicious, and the sliced melon was excellent—the rind had been completely removed, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, two of the three desserts were stale and overly dry, and some cherry tomatoes still had black spots around the stems. The biggest issue, however, was coffee—or rather, the complete absence of it. There was no coffee in the room, and there was no coffee at breakfast. In fact, breakfast didn't even include tea or plain drinking water. I honestly didn't expect that the rarest item at a hotel breakfast buffet would be... water. For someone staying in a smoking room, a cup of coffee is one of those small pleasures that makes the morning better. Unfortunately, that small pleasure never arrived. Maybe coffee is considered a luxury item here. Overall, the hotel has good potential thanks to its spacious and clean rooms. But hospitality is often about the little things, and this hotel missed quite a few of them. I would consider staying here again only if these service details are improved.

El hotel está ubicado en la ciudad de Tangkou, muy cerca de la entrada al área escénica de montaña. Los servicios en los alrededores son completos, lo que facilita comer y realizar otras actividades. El hotel ofrece un servicio de transporte a la entrada del área escénica, lo cual es muy conveniente. Al registrarse, el personal le explicará pacientemente la ruta de senderismo y las precauciones necesarias. Las instalaciones de la habitación son dignas de mención. Toda la habitación cuenta con control de voz inteligente Xiao Ai, que le da un toque muy elegante, y además es muy espaciosa. El único aspecto a mejorar es la calidad del desayuno. Si bien la variedad es limitada, la calidad debe ser superior.

Este fue mi primer viaje a Huangshan y no conocía bien las rutas. El hotel estaba bastante lejos de la parada del autobús lanzadera para acceder a la montaña. Habían contratado un conductor para recoger a los huéspedes, pero la capacidad era limitada, así que podría haber retrasos si todos querían llegar a la zona panorámica muy temprano por la mañana. El alojamiento en sí era bastante agradable, con instalaciones completas. La vista desde la ventana del hotel era normalita, pero se podían ver las montañas de los alrededores a pocos pasos. My family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise. The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site. One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days. At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us. Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

Tres meses después, mi familia y yo partimos de nuevo. Llegamos al restaurante Shedeyuan en Hongcun. Regresar fue como volver a casa; la casera fue cálida y acogedora, el dueño fue cortés, e incluso nos recogió y nos dejó. Si familiares y amigos quieren volver, ¡no pueden perderse Shedeyuan! Es como otro hogar en Hongcun, un remanso de paz permanente. Recomiendo especialmente al dueño, que también es el chef principal. Su pescado mandarín apestoso y su pollo con castañas son las especialidades de Hongcun; no hay mejor comida que la que prepara el chef de Shedeyuan. Vine por primera vez en 2012 y esta es mi cuarta vez. Primavera, verano, otoño e invierno: cada visita trae sorpresas y hermosos paisajes. ¡Es un remanso de paz en medio de una vida ajetreada! ¡Muchísimas gracias a la casera, la hermana Hu, y al dueño, el hermano Xu, por su incansable dedicación a mí y a mi familia! ¡Gracias por su calidez y su inmensa gratitud!

Hotel con una excelente ubicación en el corazón del casco antiguo. Podrás salir y estar justo al lado. Gracias a su ubicación, es muy tranquilo por la noche. Su estilo es clásico y tiene mucho encanto. El hotel es fácil de encontrar y se puede acceder fácilmente en Didi o autobús público (desde o hacia la estación de tren de alta velocidad). El propietario fue muy amable y nos organizó un taxi a la montaña. La habitación y las toallas se limpiaban a diario y además se podía charlar un rato con el propietario. Es cierto que la ducha tardaba un poco en calentarse y la habitación estaba bastante fría (a mediados de noviembre), pero son detalles menores teniendo en cuenta el precio en temporada baja. Solo hay que esperar un poco a que salga el agua caliente y también se puede calentar la habitación.

¡Debo alabar a Xiandu Yunlu B&B! Lo más digno de elogio de este viaje es este B&B. El ambiente es muy bueno, cada habitación tiene características diferentes y el paisaje fuera de la ventana es tan hermoso. El estilo de decoración también es muy consciente del diseño. El jefe llamará con anticipación para confirmar el itinerario. Tuvimos mucha suerte y nos pasaron a una habitación. Cuando nos registramos, mi hermana pequeña y yo no pudimos evitar suspirar de que la habitación era muy hermosa y cómoda, y la limpieza. y la higiene eran las más básicas. Era mejor que en casa. Hidden gem // Cosy homestay with lovely and caring hosts - 10/10 recommend! We loved our stay at Villa Emerald Valley especially due to: + Lovely hosts: super friendly, multi generational, from the neighborhood and always keen to fulfill all our wishes even before we knew them + Bright, modern, clean and cosy rooms: Big windows, clean and modern bathroom facilities (great hot shower that is truly needed after a day in the mountain), really comfy beds, water boiler, etc. + Nice common area: game room, restaurant, tea table, small pool + Tasty food: breakfast, lunch and dinner freshly prepared, many options (also vegetarian), fresh fruits and tea, decent prices -＞ we loved their tomato&egg, bamboo, qingcai and tofu dishes + Smooth communication and great service: quick responses via WeChat, airport pick up (200¥ one way), support with ticket booking for huangshan, carrying luggage, extra fruits, etc. + Emerging into the community: as it was tea harvest time, the hosts took us to the tea mountain close by where we could help picking tea leaves + Location: huangshan is overall really touristy with a lot of group tourism and thus overall probably not the nicest place to stay for a longer time. However, the home stay, while being close to all main tourist attractions, lies very calm and right beside the mountains where locals live and work, so it does not feel touristy at all and you could easily spend several days there to explore and relax Also , the hosts can speak some English, so communication for foreigners is not a problem.
