The staff were friendly and the actual hotel was quite elegant. The grounds were amazing, and there were plenty of lovely places for photos with colourful flowers. We ate dinner in the hotel and the presentation of the food and the quality was excellent. The steak was cooked to perfection. The mushroom risotto wasn't quite as good as it had some crunchy bits of rice in it. It needed about 10 minutes longer on a slow heat, and then it would have been perfect; as it wasn't that hot either. This hotel boasts that it has a spa, swimming pool, and lots of different spa room experiences. Normally, when you use the leisure facilities connected to the hotel that you're staying in, they provide towels free of charge. Not this one. We walked over with our swimwear and room key card to be told that towels were £1 each. We explained that we didn't bring a wallet, money, or a phone to pay with. We asked if they could charge it to our room. They couldn't!! They said that you can use the one in your hotel room or walk back to the hotel reception and they'd give us them. Not helpful at all. Then, we went in to find the two foot spa's didn't work, and when I said it to the leisure centre manager, his reply was ' I know as I reported them last week'. But not a sign on them to say that they weren't working! Overall, the hotel needed a bit of a spruce up; but they made up for it with friendly staff. We paid to play a 9 hole game of golf and the staff in the golf shop was amazing.

We stay at this hotel every winter. We travel over from Stoke-on-Trent to close our caravan down and instead of staying in a cold van we treat ourselves to a night at The North Shore hotel. This year we stayed for 2 nights in a small double. Room was small but very welcoming and had everything we needed. There was a large bathroom, with a bath. I'm not sure if the central heating wasn't working as there was a radiator but not on and there was an electric in the room. With no central heating the bathroom was cold, hence 4 stars and not 5. The hotel itself has a lovely atmosphere and reception staff are very friendly. We were suppose to have stayed Tuesday and Wednesday night but we had loads of snow in Stoke-on-Trent so I rang to change the dates to Wednesday night and Thursday night with no issues at all. We were booked into a room up 2 flights of stairs, as I have Mobility issues I asked if there was a lift. They do not have a lift so she changed our room to 129 which meant only a few stairs, much better for me. The bar was open and looked very nice, but we didn't use it. There is a large free carpark for customers. We had a lovely little break and am sure we'll be back winter 2025

We had an excellent and relaxing stay at Belton Woods Hotel. The staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. The food especially the breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. During our stay we used the pool and spa facilities which were all very clean, the pool was nice and warm and large enough for doing few lengths without getting in to anyone's way.

We choose this hotel as it was close to where our friends live. We booked 3 double rooms and even though we weren’t in them for long, they were lovely and clean. Staff weee super nice and friendly The location wasn’t too bad as we could travel to where we wanted to go. The windmill was a great place to eat and for a good price too.

Very nice night, receptionist even let us have extra biscuits and made sure everything was okay for us ! only downside is that we wanted to stay 1-2 hours extra after checkout for the pool which cost £30. We will be back

Charlie and the staff of the Ashbourne Hotel couldn't have been more helpful when we arrived to set up for our latest Murder Mystery event. We tour the UK and it is massively appreciated when the venue are so accommodating and helpful in their setting up of the function room exactly as we require it, and with the Green Room (the actors changing room!) The food was delicious and a waitress even ensured that one of our actors was fed his sticky toffee pudding in the Green Room as he died before desert! Many thanks for assisting in the smooth running of our murder mystery :)
