Great location for visiting Cradle Mountain, and a big plus is that after 6pm you can drive to Dove Lake yourself, which made it very convenient. The breakfast was average, nothing special, and the price was a little on the expensive side. However, overall it was still worth it for the location and convenience.

We love the location and my kid loves swimming pool as well as their pizza and foods were great. The only thing that hotel rooms needs is microwave.

The bed was terrible. You could see that the mattress had hollows in it where it was worn out by just looking at it. The pilliows were worse. They were no more than 4 inches high but flattened down to no more than 1 inch high, so you felt like you were sleeping with your head below you body. You couldn't fall out of the bed because the hollows kept you safely in the bed. Found supermarket receipts on the floor near the bed, so cleaning of the room was a bit suspect as well. Yes there are positives - the shower pressure was great. The other positive was that we had to leave early the next morning. I could not recommend this motel. Yes it was cheap to stay in, but you get what you pay for.

Nice rooms and a fantastic location, but the food was a real letdown. Highland Restaurant seems determined to dress up fairly average food as “premium Australiana” so they can justify premium prices, but the menu is limited and the quality simply doesn’t match the cost. For a restaurant positioned as fine dining, it falls well short of expectations.
We ended up eating mostly at the Tavern Bar & Bistro, which was more reasonable, but even there the experience was disappointing. In freezing Cradle Mountain weather, the kitchen was closed by 8pm on a Friday night and we couldn’t even get a bowl of soup. For a remote alpine-style lodge where guests are largely captive to the onsite dining options, that’s pretty poor.
The accommodation itself is lovely, but the food offering needs serious improvement. With the prices they charge and the reputation they market, they should be doing a lot better.

Nos encontramos en el café de cereales que nos habíamos informado y no se resolvió, basicamente no había respuesta a pesar de la amotrice que lo había informado al gerente, lo remitimos al personal de recepción y todavía no había respuesta ni disculpas. No buscamos un reembolso sólo un reconocimiento de la cuestión.
