We chose this hotel because it was one of the most inexpensive hotels near the reef terminal and close to other attractions in Cairns. It was a 30 minute walk to the Reef Terminal and 40 minutes to the Botanical Garden. It also has a good selection of restaurants nearby and is a short walk to Rusty's Market and quite a few shops. The area is very quiet and the bed was comfy enough. The room has a good wall unit which we stored all of our bags in and kept our stuff accessible with some shelves. There is a limited number of plug-ins in the room with two on the desk under the TV and a power bar was underneath the bed. A travel power adapter was used to keep our devices charged. The wifi was weak when we stayed and we felt the shower curtain and lip didn't do a great job keeping the water contained because the floor and bath mat got soaked each time we showered - you could aim the shower head at the wall and angle your body just so but it was tricky to have a good shower here. We did appreciate all the toiletries available in the wall mounted units including hand wash, shaving cream, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The towels were also very soft but never dried out so we had to ask to have them changed on our second day here because the bathroom smelled very damp due to the wetness. The front desk staff were very kind but they did not have it manned after hours so there are late night check in instructions provided. They also can help arrange and book tours while you are in Cairns. The hotel offered a complimentary breakfast which included bread, a toaster, a pancake machine, cereals, juices, coffee, milk and water. The highlight of the breakfast was the pancake machine and the giant jar of Nutella with a pump attached. You could order a hot breakfast for a little bit more and it was fairly priced for things like sausage, bacon and eggs. The hotel also has a bar area (open 3-7), heat and eat meals, a vending machine, pool and laundry facilities. There is a microwave available in the bar area and kettles are available in the rooms for hot water. The laundry machines are commercial and quick - it cost 4 AUD to wash and the same price to dry and our laundry was done within 1 hour and 10 minutes. The laundry room also has an iron and ironing board. The hotel had a good amount of parking and it is about a 10 minute drive from the airport. We felt everything was very convenient during our stay and would recommend it if you are planning to save on a hotel and spend on excursions!

The Mantra Hotel has outstanding location. It is directly in front of the Woolworths supermarket - the best option in central Cairns. It's also virtually opposite (the esplanade side)the lagoon public beachfront swimming pool. Finally it's just a 5 minute walk from Cairns Cruise Terminal, with outstanding day trips to Green Island, Fitzroy Island and the Reef. I booked a sea view room. When you enter the room, you don't see the ocean, but a building across the road. However, the view from the balcony was amazing. The balcony overlooks the main features of lagoon on the sea front. During the day it is great view - the lagoon pools and sea in the background. At night you cannot see the sea (as to be expected) but you have the amazing lagoon lights, which makes it very desirable and even romantic. Our room was at the end of block, which overlooks a shopping mall (no car noise) - looking right from the balcony is the lagoon view and looking left is a mountain view. However, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm the sun comes directly into the balcony area, which means it unusable until sun sets. Of course if you don't mind baking in the sun on the balcony, this is not really a concern. The room itself is pretty basic. The mini fridge of OK and TV has domestic channels only - no cable TV for BBC/CNN. The bathroom is of a good size. There is combined shower & bath. However, when using the shower, it can slightly flood this bathroom. A shower curtain may be desirable because the glass panel is not sufficient enough. At $225 per night this hotel was not cheap and you can better deals by coming in the off-season OR going bit further down the esplanade, and choosing another hotel. The Mantra does have its own pool and it is wonderfully heated, with normal deck chairs you would expect at 4 star hotel. However, the pool gets very little natural sunlight, because it of its location between 2 buildings. Overall, the hotel has amazing location, and it is still recommended, despite the shortcomings mentioned. My final note: When we checked in, I was impressed with the level of service provided by the receptionist. She had a very welcome attitude and a wonderful personality.

Surfers Beach Holiday Apartments was a great place to stay for our family. The management was helpful. Rooms were of a good size. The location is quiet. It is a easy walk to catch the G:tram. This makes getting to Surfers Paradise or other locations easy. Riding the G is also much cheaper and easier than trying to find parking for the car. While we were there, there were few people using the pool. Our grandkids had a great time... and mostly had the pool to themselves. I didn't realize there wasn't an elevator.(My fault for not checking.) Being on the third floor normally wouldn't have been an issue. Because of health issues for one of our family members, it would have been easier if we had been on a lower floor. If I had contacted the management when booking they said they would have tried to give us a lower floor. It's a great place and I highly recommend it.

Firstly, the room was excellent, ultra clean with bath and shower. The sheets were exemplary, bed very comfortable as were the pillows. Bar fridge and microwave, toiletries in the bathroom. Towels excellent. Airconditioning excellent. I was excited to see a very large, modern wide screen TV with onboard Android system. Disappointed that no internet connection (so I could have used my own passwords for my streaming services. Even more disappointed that there was no aerial connected, but I had brought my own tech and internet. I just switched off the TV. Imagine my extreme displeasure to board the 3rd floor lift at 05:00 to have the doors closed - but no button worked! I WAS TRAPPED IN THE LIFT!!! I pressed the yellow emergency button for 5 seconds - no answer - pressed multiple times. I phoned the hotel main number, so they could press the lift call button - no answer. I phoned the 24/7 emergency 1300 number. The operator said she would send someone out - who would phone me with an ETA. Getting anxious, being 60 years old with a heart condition, I dialled 000 to call the POLICE! The dispatcher commended me on remaining so calm. I assured her, being very hot in cramped spaces with very little air was definitely not conducive to my remaining calm. They said to call 000 back if I got out before the fire brigade arrived. Five minutes later I heard voices outside. Someone heard my banging on the lift doors and cries for help. I GOT OUT That night the guy on reception said sorry. I explained that, although the room was marvelous - and that I did eventually get out, a man of my age and I'll health could have died - why wasn't anyone on duty to answer the damn lift emergency phone? He said he was sorry.

La isla de sueños de día no es grande, pero muy agradable. Muchas clases de barcos desde Hamilton hasta el día son convenientes ～! Nuestro último barco se envía a la isla de sueños de día y nos envía a todos un collar de pequeños tiburones. El personal es entusiasta y el desayuno es rica. Los canguros y las rocas de diamantes se ven en todas partes, hay pequeños peces de arena en el lago, 𫚉 peces...En general, se siente bien!!! Evitar las cosas: si quieres jugar o volar desde Hamilton, no te quedes en una isla larga, no te quedes en una isla larga, no te quedes en el puerto de Shute, y no hay mucha frecuencia. (El tiempo que pasó para preguntar, las rutas de transporte que necesitaban para llamar son muy molestas, porque no hay espacio en Hamilton y me temo que la isla está en ruta). Estamos en avión y aterrizamos en la isla de Hamilton. Reservamos una residencia de Long Island. Volvemos al día siguiente en helicóptero para ver el corazón. La primera clase de salida de Long Island fue enviar a la ciudad de Shute a las ocho horas. Si te quedas, tendrás que esperar hasta las cinco y media pm para llegar a Hamilton ～ Me Dios mío! En ese momento, realmente me envié a la evaluación del hotel que dijo que el autobús en el agua era muy conveniente 🐶🐶🐶 Podemos ser forzados a abandonar la estancia en Long Island y reservar una estancia en la isla de sueños de día. Called the hotel to advise of our late check in. Had been driving 16 hours and had a snappy receptionist check me in. The process was unusually long and was not given any information of carparking or breakfast (which was included). The girl at the reception failed to provide basic information on the hotel such as wifi, carpark, breakfast and amenities. This was just before 1am so I decided to let it slide. At about 2am, I rang to ask for toothbrush kit and shower cap and she had come up to the room and said that there’s no toothbrush kit and to go to the convenience store where it will be cheaper for me. Now I’m confused, what an odd comment to make, I didn’t realise I needed the cheaper option but okay. I then advised her that I had food being delivered and requested if she could bring it up to the room. She said yes of course and advised me to inform the delivery driver to drop it off at reception to her. I did exactly that and received a call minutes later, asking me to come down to pick it up. Clearly, I’m confused as we literally had this conversation less than 10 minutes prior. She asked me to come down and when I asked if she could bring it up as discussed, she asked me if I was about to take a shower. I said as a matter of fact, it is and then she said yeah well you have to come down. At this point I’m beyond irritated because firstly, what a bloody odd question to ask a guest at 2am in the morning. I went down and got it myself, have no issues with doing that but definitely have an issue when I was advised otherwise and then met with such poor service. Been to so many hotels and have had no issues, first time experiencing such poor customer service, unprofessionalism and attitude from what was meant to be a warm and friendly reception staff. Next day, staff were great and breakfast was adequate with the basic breakfast variety.

Este es un lugar fabuloso para quedarse. Elegimos una habitación tipo estudio, con vista al mar, y realmente valió la pena. Aunque llegamos tarde, contactamos al personal de llamadas en la puerta y nos hablaron sobre el proceso de registro. El servicio fue amable y atento en todo momento. El único pequeño inconveniente es que las habitaciones solo se limpian una vez cada 8 días. Sin embargo, cuando solicitamos toallas limpias, estuvieron felices de proporcionárselas. El complejo de la piscina es encantador, la piscina está un poco fría para el invierno, pero el spa era cómodo y disfrutamos mucho de la sauna. El desayuno estaba incluido y teníamos la opción de elegir entre tres cafés en el complejo, con comida deliciosa en los tres. ¡No podemos esperar a volver!
