HavesomeleewayLocation was a llittle far out, not many food options nearby. Had to drive out to the nearest town to get food unless you eat at the dining hall. Stayed in the hill villa and it was so fun. There was a buggy attached to the room that we can use to drive around the hotel's compound to explore, was super fun. They have a pretty decent onsen too (the older part of the hotel). I'm excited for the new pool and would love to be back to stay here again if life permits. Villa was spacious and I love it so much. Super comfortable and there is a deck with a BBQ, deck chairs for chilling, vinyl player, a telescope for stars and it is generally an all round pleasant stay.

Usuario invitadoThe hotel is very overpriced for an old facility. We booked an oceanview room but the windows are blocked with bars and can barely be opened. Our room on the second floor could barely see the ocean. Furniture and decoration scream OLD.
Most front desk workers are not Japanese. They claim to have an ”international crew” but the problem is they don't know much about Japan. When we asked the doorman about taking trains, he didn't have a crew because he just got to Japan from another Asian country. On the other hand, the restaurants only have Japanese workers and no one speaks English. We booked an 8-course dinner. The chef was going around to explain the dishes to guests but just left us when he found out we don't speak Japanese. The menu is in Japanese only.
This hotel also charged us at 135:1 foreign exchange rate while all other hotels charged 142-144:1 JPY-USD. It's not a foreigner friendly hotel and way overpriced for what it is.

Unfortunately this hotel was advertised in their Policies page as ”Children not permitted at this hotel”. On the strength of this policy, I was expecting an adult venue, with appropriate facilities. The hotel was completely the opposite. I would describe it as a family friendly establishment, which, if this is what you are looking for, it's perfect. Great place for children, lots to explore, the staff were super friendly, but because it was school holidays it was full of children. The best thing was the indoor golf simulator (no children here), but it definitely plays to the right, so adjust your feet by 20 degrees. The location is a bit out of the way, but the shuttle bus is very handy. The restaurant was full, so I missed out on a meal, so take some supplies with you, as there are no shops near by, and there wasn't anything available in the way of snacks. It wasn't one of my better experiences, but the views were amazing!!!

Usuario invitado

This beautiful hotel pearched on a clift in Shima with impeccable service is a must stay in Shima. Super friendly staffs who are knowledgeable and are prepared to answer your every question makes our stay at this venue a very memorable one. Restaurant La Mer and the Japanese restaurant never failed to amaze us, even though we only had our breakfast there. The top floor viewing deck is a must to see one of the best sunset in the world.
The breathtaking views from your suite is simply worth the price.
