«Stayed for a night in Winchester, place is around 8 mins walk from the train station so it is very convenient. However, the roads to it is quite dark especially in the late evening or night hence may not be suitable for solo travellers. Otherwise, it is indeed a very nice hotel and I am very very pleased.»

«The hotel do not make it clear that you have to pay for the swimming pool each time you use it. When you have children who are expecting to swim, this is simply not good enough. When booking it clearly says there are leisure facilities, including a swimming pool. It was only when checking in that we were told you had to pay £5 per person! We booked a ‘golf view’ room. When we arrived in the room there was a view of a bush, tree and bins with golf buggies in the distance come the morning, hardly a golf view in our opinion. Very disappointed children who were excited to be able to see a fairway! Breakfast was massively understaffed. The two staff members working were working very hard but with a full hotel, there should have been more staff working. It took far too long for glasses to be topped up to use for juice and the pastries ran out and were not replaced in time for us to eat. All staff members were lovely and worked hard but I feel management need to act upon previous reviews. We were told that the golf view issue was historical and an issue with Trip and how they advertise but if this was the case, why had nothing been done to address it? We were offered a drinks voucher as compensation but we refused as we had already purchased our non-alcoholic drinks for the evening. Perhaps not the best offer for a family! We asked if we could have our swim paid for instead and were told no because the leisure facilities were separate to the hotel??»

«Me decepcionó un poco quedarme en el hotel Apollo cuando reservé, lo reservé para dos adultos y un niño y cuando llegué allí solo había una cama doble, me dijeron que me pondrían una cama individual mientras estaba fuera y cuando volví al hotel a las 8:30 p. m. todavía no había una cama, finalmente a las 10 p. m. me dieron una cama plegable con muelles faltantes para que mi hijo de cuatro años durmiera. al final terminé durmiendo en el piso para que mi hija pudiera tener la cama con su papá, es una verdadera lástima ver que un hotel en el que me alojé cuando me casé se ha ido cuesta abajo, había muchas bandejas sucias en el pasillos en el camino a la habitación, pero en la entrada del hotel era hermoso,»

«Lovely hotel, beautiful grounds. Feels like you're well outside Southampton but are only 15 mins away. (Daughter in Uni there) Room was nice, we had exec but this isn't worth it to me. It only gives you a better coffee machine and we weren't in the room enough to use it. Save the £20. No lifts so cases up to the third floor was a bit of a pain. If you're waiting for a ferry and have lots of cases then this could be an issue. We saw a few people struggle with this. Breakfast was good, staff very friendly. We didn't eat there in the evening, burgers and chips sort of menu but the nearby pub, Chilworth Arms was really good. The pool is great, small (16m) but very nice with jacuzzi, steam and sauna. Towels provided. Staff very friendly. Pool surrounding has quite slippery tiles though. Leisure facility is a bit away from the hotel, only 300 hundred meters from the hotel front but enough to need an umbrella if raining. All in all, a good value pleasant hotel. Much cheaper than Leonardo's in Soton and still close to Uni etc.»
