«Very disappointed in description versus reality. No WiFi in rooms, paid extra for breakfasts, but found out they were for continental breakdasts which are complimentary anyway. Meals were not value for money. Very ho hum. No waiter service, it was scan Qr code for menu, order and payment. White ants on the kitchenette bar in our room. Conditioner on wall in shower had been used up and filled with water. Location was great.»

«I’ve stayed in fair few budget and mid-range hostels, and overall, Cable Beach Backpackers has a really good vibe. The Good Stuff: • Its a perfect Location. Literally walking distance to Cable Beach, restaurants, and bars. There’s also a bus stop right outside that heads into town every 20 minutes, which was a lifesaver. • The staff are so welcoming and easy to chat with. The little on-site bar has great prices, and the outdoor area is awesome—heaps of undercover seating and a brilliant hammock zone. The kitchen is also massive with plenty of room to cook and store your food. • Having good Wi-Fi was amazing, especially since mobile network coverage can be pretty patchy around the area. • I felt completely safe the entire time. I never worried about my personal safety or my belongings, which is always a huge relief when backpacking. The Not-So-Good Stuff (Just being honest): • I was in a 4-person dorm. It’s pretty basic (two bunks and a clothes rack) and felt super cramped once everyone brought their bags in. The biggest issue was airflow. The window wouldn’t open, so even with the ceiling fan and two portable fans blasting, it got really stuffy and stinky. The only way to get fresh air was leaving the main door wide open. While I felt safe enough to do this, it’s still not ideal for privacy or keeping the bugs out. Putting flyscreens on the doors could fix this! • I didn't see any lockers in the room for safely locking away small valuables. If they do have them and I just missed them, it would be great to have them highlighted at check-in, otherwise adding some would be a great upgrade. • There are noise restrictions after 10 PM, but people were still talking loudly, playing music and making noise late into the night every evening. Also, a lot of guests didn't clean up after themselves, so the shared tables and bathrooms were pretty messy a lot of the time. People also ignored the designated smoking areas. Overall, the location, Wi-Fi, and staff are top-notch, and it feels like a very safe spot to stay. I know you get what you pay for but it could still do with a little bit of a reno and better upkeep to stop the shared spaces from getting messy.»

«Friendly reception! Would be great if we can check in earlier but not a big issue as we can explore the area before check-in. Great that the recreation centre is just opposite. Managed to have 2 pickleball games during our stay.»

«The staff were friendly and helpful. The included continental breakfast was good. The location across from the beach was great and also easy to walk around the main part of town. Lots of choices of places to eat within walking distance. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.»

«The room was old and not very clean. I smelled cigarette smoke in the initial room, and the receptionist agreed to switch to another room. The location was good, but overall it’s not worth the price.»

«We were looking forward to staying here, unfortunately not worth the money we paid. Our two bedroom apartment was approx $760 for the night and not worth the money. We have had a lot better for half the price. The rooms and furnishing were dated, the ensuite was averagely clean and had random stickers on furnishings, the fridge was extremely noisy. There were plastic and metal shavings on the floor of the shower. Would not recommend at the price that we paid. Would have been amazing in its day but overall very dated. Yes we are being picky, however for the most money we have ever spent per night on accommodation, it rates very poorly as there are much nicer places to stay.»

«Excellent venue for a short staycation. We loved the Swan River location with access to walk/ride paths and picnic spots. Great swimming pool with pagodas for shade. Good quality buffet breakfast offering all the usual items and some unexpected sweet treats and cafe bar. Our standard room was a generous size with king bed, bathroom well appointed, and all very clean with an added bonus of scuffs to wear and take home. Lunch and dinner menu was fairly extensive and we especially liked the garlic bread and pork belly bites. We will be back !»

«La ubicación es muy buena, cerca de Busselton y Dunsborough, fácil acceso a la región del río Margaret. La unidad estaba limpia y suficientemente equipada, aunque el pan frigorífico no estaba plano, logró utilizar el horno en su lugar. «Esta fue una excelente opción para mi viaje a Australia Occidental. Pasé por Carnarvon de camino a Exmouth y me alojé en este hotel en ambas ocasiones. El hotel está situado junto a un parque y la ruta costera para correr de la ciudad, lo que crea un ambiente agradable. El servicio de lavandería es gratuito y el restaurante del hotel también es muy bueno para los niños.»
