The Grand Taj Hotel in Murree is awesome! When we walked in, it felt really nice. The hotel looks cool with a mix of modern and mountain vibes. The rooms are super comfy, and we had a room with a great view of the mountains. The staff is friendly and made us feel special. Now, the food – oh my! The hotel restaurant has everything, from local to international food. We tried a bit of everything, and it was all delicious. Honestly, the Grand Taj Hotel deserves those five stars. It's not just a hotel; it's a really great experience. If you're going to Murree, definitely stay here. You'll love it!

In advance to my arrival the hotel management tried to re-negotiate the established ******* online non-refundable rate asking for more money. I complained with *******. The affair seems to have been settled as I hadn’t any trouble or annoyance concerning payment when being there. Stayed 1 week. It is a somewhat modest facility. Pretty basic room. Smeared walls in the bathroom. Sheets were clean. The rooftop terrace offers probably the best views of Peshawar. Staff was amazing in helping me with any issue. Appreciate the complimentary shuttle-service to/from the airport. Breakfast was somewhat scarce with few choice of local cuisine which repeated almost unchanged every morning. Location is central and convenient, although outside the old city.

Terrible Experience – Avoid PC Malam Jabba Stayed in the Presidential Suite for two nights with family and friends, expecting a premium experience, but it turned out to be a nightmare. From the moment we arrived, the staff was rude and unprofessional. Mr. Fida was unwelcoming at reception. When we returned to check in after a meal, the new staff (Ms. Arooj & Mr. Ahmad) suddenly claimed the suite was unavailable, then said it was under maintenance—despite us already touring it earlier. After hours of arguing and waiting in the lobby, Mr. Rehmat finally checked us in. No one even offered a glass of water despite making us wait for hours. Housekeeping was another disaster. They refused to clean the Executive Suite before noon, and I had to call reception three times over 2.5 hours to get service for the Presidential Suite. Staff lied about policies and acted like guests were a burden. We were promised late checkout by Mr. Yasir (the only helpful staff member), yet at standard checkout time, Ms. Arooj & Mr. Ahmad denied it and repeatedly called us, sent bell boys to our room, and harassed us into leaving in a rush. I had to carry my clothes in my hands as they didn’t even give me time to pack properly. The final insult? Staff falsely accused us of stealing a $20 bathrobe. When we asked them to charge us if they believed it, they refused—clearly just trying to humiliate us. Mr. Wajid (bell boy) mocked us openly and was extremely rude, and when we complained to Mr. Rehmat, he dismissed it. Spent over $2000 here, and the treatment was appalling. If this is how they treat Presidential Suite guests, I can’t imagine the experience for standard rooms. Save your money and avoid this place, especially if traveling with family. The only redeeming part of our stay was Mr. Yasir, the only professional and kind staff member. PC Malam Jabba ruined our trip and a friend’s birthday celebration. Never again.

I spent 2 nights at Lockwood Hotel, and it was a good experience. The staff kept the rooms clean everyday and the management was okay. The breakfast menu is quite expensive so we used to get breakfast from other shops nearby. Overall, it was a good trip.

The staff is exceptional. I especially thank Salman Sheikh, the hotel manager: He went beyond ordinary assistance when I encountered problems with international transactions. This gracious effort on his part will always be remembered!! I also wish to thank Bilaf, who gave me a beautifully oversized suite with a glorious mountain view, the chef for his culinary skills, and the accommodating service staff. If you are fortunate enough to travel to Murree, Pakistan, this is the place to stay.

Generally, it was a decent hotel compared to other available hotels near Swat. Location was good too. However, given the price that we paid, we dont think it was a 4-star hotel. At best, it should be rated between mid tier to upper tier 3-star hotel. While the rooms were clean, it took some time for hot water to be available. Basic amenities were not available in the room and had to be requested, though the staffs were friendly and helpful.
