I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have had in Japan. I booked a Run of House (ROH) room for my family. The booking description stated that room sizes range from 28 to 38 square meters. Based on that description, I reasonably expected that room assignments would be allocated fairly within that range. Upon check-in, I initially asked whether it would be possible to have a room facing Huis Ten Bosch. I fully understood when I was told that a park-facing room would require an additional charge, as such rooms are often sold at a premium. However, after entering the room, I realized that I had been assigned what appeared to be the smallest and least desirable room available. At that point, I was no longer asking for a park view. I simply asked whether it would be possible to have a slightly larger room, especially since the ROH description clearly stated that room sizes range from 28 to 38 square meters. What made the experience particularly frustrating was that I had already read reviews from other guests who booked the same ROH category and received significantly better rooms. One guest mentioned being assigned a park-view room after making a request, while another guest appeared to have received one of the hotel’s best room categories despite booking ROH. When I politely asked why other guests with the same booking category seemed to receive much better room assignments while I was given the smallest room available, the front desk was unable to provide a clear explanation. Instead, I was repeatedly told that any room change would require an upgrade fee. At one point, I was even told to contact the booking platform and ask the platform to pay for the room change. This response made very little sense. I was not asking for a free upgrade. I was simply asking for transparency and consistency regarding how ROH rooms are allocated. After a lengthy discussion, the hotel eventually moved us to a slightly larger room. However, the replacement room was located on the lowest floor, at the far end of the corridor, with a partially obstructed theme park view. While I appreciated the effort, it reinforced the impression that alternative rooms were available, yet no clear explanation was ever provided regarding the original room assignment. My disappointment is not that I did not receive the best room. I fully understand that ROH bookings do not guarantee upgrades. My concern is that the hotel advertises a room size range of 28–38 square meters, creating the expectation that room assignments may reasonably vary within that range. If ROH guests are always assigned the smallest and least desirable room available, even when larger rooms remain vacant, then the hotel should simply advertise the room as 28 square meters. That would allow guests to make an informed decision before booking. For families travelling with children, room size matters. Had the listing clearly indicated that ROH guests would receive a 28-square-meter room, I would likely have selected a different room category from the beginning. The hotel itself is in a convenient location and the facilities are generally good. However, the handling of this situation left a very negative impression. Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend booking a specific room category rather than ROH, so that expectations are clear from the outset.

Este hotel está situado en el interior de la Casa Dez Bosch, con fácil acceso a través del parque temático a través del autobús, la habitación es amplia y con todas las comodidades necesarias. Reservé este hotel a través de Trip.com debido a su web oficial no podía aceptar tarjetas de crédito emitidas fuera de Japón (no estoy seguro si esto es común para los hoteles japoneses) La experiencia global con Hotel Amsterdam es excelente, muy recomendado!

The hotel is decent for a one night stay. Though I would describe the interiors of the room as pretty retro and dated in the 90s. The hotel staff are very warm and friendly, and the room is clean. It’s acceptable for a short stay. The hotel is only a stone throw away from Huis Ten Bosch’s entrance where you need to get your tickets. And you can return to the hotel via the back gate. There’s a Lawson near Huis Ten Bosch’s entrance as well. I would say it’s probably a 3 minutes walk. Carpark is available directly in front of the hotel, with charges at 1000¥ per night. There’re carpark wardens to guide you. Would return for a fuss free stay if I were to visit Huis Ten Bosch again.

I booked this place only for one night but it was totally worth it, and I immediately regretted my past decision of booking this place only for 1 day…  It was perfect place for calm-wellness kind of fam-trip with its spas(located in each bldgs!), delicious dinner(pre-booking is a must, i presume?) and breakfast! Inasayama(MT.Inasa) hill’s location could be the only problem but if you do not insist in downtown tour, it won’t bother you!!!!  They have pre-booking(1day ago) guest only shuttle bus but operation time is very limited!

Es un antiguo hotel de larga historia. La habitación es grande. Sólo hay salas de fumar disponibles, por lo que el olor de los cigarrillos sigue existiendo. El baño es el mismo que el baño, sólo las paredes son limpias. El cuello es menor que la cama, así que cuando intenté sentarme en la cama, mis pies se golpearon en la parte exterior. El coche puede estacionar en el hotel, pero es pequeño. Debes dejar el coche en la recepción. No puedes usar Wi-Fi a menos que alquile una máquina en la recepción.

Como un pequeño club med en Nagasaki. Excelente cena y desayuno y muchas actividades y grandes mentiras.

Hoteles en El País Vasco: Este hotel es un hotel muy agradable y con una ubicación excelente. Un poco difícil de encontrar estacionamiento, pero el mayor problema fue que no limpiaron la habitación. Nos dieron toallas nuevas, pero no hizo nada más. Muy extraño y poco común para ese tipo de hotel.

New and clean very nice hotel. Amenities are good and bought a few shower gels and shampoos there as they smelled so good. The room and bathroom are perfectly clean. Very tasty green tea met us on the reception. The only strange thing was the bathroom with windows in both side - to the room and outside. You can close it but you have to cover all the windows every time you go tge toilet.

El hotel está muy cómodo, a unos 400 metros de la estación de Nagasaki, con una parada de tranvía, una parada de autobuses y una tienda de conveniencia justo al paso de la puerta. El Glover Garden, el Museo de Bombas Atómicas, el Parque de Paz y Chinatown están a pocas paradas de tranvía. Puedes ir a la Montaña Inasayama en unos 10 minutos, lo que hace que visitar la famosa vista nocturna especialmente conveniente. La habitación era limpia y acogedora.El baño público era amplio, con varios tubos para elegir.También hay lavandería y secador disponibles (tres de cada), aunque puedes necesitar un poco de tiempo para el uso. El desayuno fue excelente, especialmente para aquellos que disfrutan de opciones de estilo japonés. Incluyó una selección rotativa de especialidades Nagasaki como champán, Goto Udon, y Sara Udon. También había pan, saladas y platos de huevo hechos a orden. Sin embargo, puede sentirse un poco costoso si no prefieres desayunos de estilo japonés, ya que representan alrededor del 60% de la selección.

Staying at Hotel Indigo Nagasaki Glover Street was a highlight of our trip to Nagasaki. The hotel is beautifully designed with a distinct British colonial character that fits perfectly into the historic Glover Garden neighbourhood — stepping outside, you’re just moments from Oura Cathedral and some of Nagasaki’s most iconic sights. The rooms are immaculate, stylishly appointed, and the bathrobes were a lovely touch after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast at Restaurant Cathedréclat — set inside what feels like a converted chapel — was a real experience in itself, with a tasty Japanese option that was genuinely delicious. The staff deserve a special mention: attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. Service was flawless from check-in to check-out. The only minor thing I’d flag — and it really is minor — is that the pillows are on the thin and soft side, which might not suit everyone who prefers a bit more support. A firmer pillow option would make this hotel absolutely perfect.
