A lovely little hotel! Don’t let the approach fool you - it doesn’t look much from the outside but it really is lovely. The room we had was spacious and clean with a gorgeous view of the the mountain and the beach. The bathroom was clean and had a good shower. There isn’t anywhere else to go and eat so either plan accordingly or have the buffet at the restaurant - it’s expensive but as a one off it was worth it! The staff were incredibly helpful too - we’d been having some issues with our car and they were more than willing to help us out! Make sure you take a visit down the road to see the seals!

The Hotel and the room was very nice. We arrived on Friday, after driving straight from work, to the Hotel at quarter to 6 pm. In our reservation we had a gift certificate for a 3 course meal. The reception said we had to hurry because dinner should start at 6pm. We asked if we could come a little later or maybe between 6.30 or 7 but the receptionist said NO, because then we would get our meal much later. We hurried up to our room and got dressed and went down to the restaurant. The restaurant was empty, we were the only ones there. We sat down and our starter came out within two minutes. When we hadn´t finished the waiter asked if we were done and we said wait a minute and tried to finish as quick as possible. When the waiter saw we had finished the starter she came and took our dishes and handed out the main course(straight away). It felt like they were trying to get o-us out of there as soon as possible. We took our time with the main course, it was obvious that our dinner had been made somewhere else or just earlier that day because it was just heated up for us and not cooked when ordered. When we got our dessert, at about 6:40, other hotel guests started arriving. Then we saw that they also had the same gift certificate and exactly the same meals. We found it strange why we had to hurry up to come down at 6pm and not everybody else. Sorry this service was not a good experience and the dinner just flat. This could have easily been a great experience if the service had been up to par with the room and look of the Hotel itself.

Hotel muy agradable , habitaciones aceptables de tamaño . Todo muy nuevo y cuidado. En el mismo hotel cenamos. Algo caro pero rico : pescado Ártico muy fresco y la sopa de marisco buenísima . Tampoco hay muchos sitios cerca donde cenar. Desayuno variado

We rented a cottage for two nights. The cottage was cheaply furnished but clean. The staff was very nice, so based on the accomdations, I would have given them a 4 or a five. However, I was very dissapointed in the breakfast and dinner which I would have rated a 2 or 3. I could not find the resort's restaurant , Hladan on trip advisor, so I lumped the hotel and dinnning room together for a 3 . They serve breakfast starting late at 8:00AM. Everything other place that I have been to in Iceland started breakfast at 7:00AM so you can get an early start. The first morning everything was ready at 8:00AM. However the second morning at 8:00 they were still putting food out and by the time we left at 8:30AM they still had not put everything out. Dinner was a joke as it was so limited. The first night they only had one appetizer, which was a soup ,and two entrees, a fish dish and a lamb dish. This was one of the mosty expensive dinners on our 12 day Icelandic trip. However, the quality was average. The next night we were told that it was essentially the same limited menu, so we ate elsewhere. The resort advertizes a dinner buffet, but I am not sure how often they have it, since it was not offered the two nights we stayed there.

Reservé una habitación con baño privado pero nos dieron una superior con cocina, amplio comedor y terraza con cristaleras enormes y vistas, puff espectacular ver el atardecerdesde desde aquí, la luz que entraba era preciosa, el apartamento y el entorno es de 10, la cama comodísima, además tienes el aparcamiento justo en la puerta del apartamento Nos alojamos en 9 hostales y apartamentos diferentes durante nuestra ruta por la isla y este lugar es de los mejores, recomendadísimo!

El hotel es un lugar maravilloso para quedarse en una ciudad absolutamente encantadora. Las habitaciones no son grandes, pero están bien equipadas y la ducha es maravillosa. Desde este punto de ventaja perfecto, es un maravilloso y fácil paseo a la base de la Montaña Kirkjufell y las delicadas caídas de agua. En la ciudad hay dos grandes tiendas de café (Valeria, que es gestionada por un maravilloso expat colombiano y la librería/café Graena Kompaniið, que es gestionada por dos maravillosas mujeres islámicas). Y, no puedes perder el gran estudio del escultor y artista, Ludvik Karlsoon. En realidad, esta ciudad es un placer. Pasamos dos noches allí -un día muy completo - y no lamentamos. ¡Todavía viene a mí en mis sueños mucho después!

Don't let the fact that this hotel is listed as a one star hotel put you off, I have stayed in 5 star hotels that are not as clean or welcoming. On arrival we received a friendly greeting, and although we were early we were able to go to our room. Although the rooms are not be biggest or packed with modern facilities, we again didn't need that. Who needs a TV when you have such stunning places to visit outside. As above the room was clean the beds were combatable, I asked for and received an extra pillow with no issues. The hotel is located close to the shops so provisions are not an issue and food can be cooked in the dining room, if you wish. We were there in off season so breakfast was not being served but a simple breakfast was provided in the mornings tea, coffee and hot chocolate all day. The sauna and hot tub were a great place to watch the northern lights. After a couple of days we were moved to a sea facing cabin, as we were staying a week again this was very clean and had the addition of a small kitchen and dining area. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily go back there.

My wife and I stayed here the night we arrived by ferry boat from the West Fjords. It’s literally a two minute drive when getting off the boat, and easy to find. Keep in mind it is a “religious” hotel with Sunday mass at the location, but they host guests of all religions or none at all. No reason to feel uncomfortable about this. We found the hotel to be quiet, inviting, and clean, though the room we had was quite small with no view since it looked over the temporary parking in front of the lobby. The bathroom was perhaps the smallest and plainest we had of all hotels we stayed at in Iceland, and had almost no sink space. So keep that in mind if 2+ people are staying in the room. I liked the buffet breakfast, and the breakfast room is huge for a hotel this size. Didn’t feel cramped at all, compared to many other hotel breakfast rooms. The selection is good, including a sweet tasting herring that I loved!

Me encantó el lugar, habitaciones amplias y limpias y muy particulares. Las de primera línea están estupendas. Lo único que no era muy bueno era el restaurante pero de resto muy bien. Recepcionista y camarera española, toledana y muy agradable.
