**Absolutely fabulous gem of a hotel – we’re already planning our return!** I’m almost reluctant to sing its praises too loudly in case we can’t get a reservation next time, but I simply cannot recommend The Ocean highly enough. This place is an absolute standout. From the moment you arrive, the service is exceptional. The team is warm, highly attentive, and genuinely approachable – every single member made us feel like valued guests rather than just another booking. They anticipated our needs before we even asked, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Breakfast was superb, with a wonderful selection to suit every taste and waistline. What really elevated it was the full table service – a lovely, touch that made the whole experience feel special and relaxed. The hotel restaurant is an absolute must. After scouting every other option in the area, we ended up eating there both nights of our stay because it was, without question, the best find around. The menu offers a fantastic selection, everything is cooked fresh to order, and every dish we tried was outstanding. The portions are generous yet perfectly judged – so much so that we sadly couldn’t squeeze in a dessert, though the menu looked every bit as tempting as the mains. The hotel itself has been decorated with real taste and care throughout. Our room was stunning – fresh, modern, and incredibly welcoming, while still feeling cosy and homely. It’s such a refreshing change from the usual tired, tacky seafront offerings; the team has clearly poured heart and soul into creating somewhere that feels both stylish and genuinely comforting. Overall, The Ocean is a superb find – one of those rare places that ticks every box and leaves you smiling from check-in to check-out. We will definitely be back next time we’re in the area. The hotel is a short walk from the railway and within easy access to the Cathedral and city centre. I stayed there for 2 nights. In the 1st night, the bathroom light was out of order as there was no one in the hotel to take care of it. Nothing was done in the following morning, and the only thing to be done is to change the room in the afternoon. The hotel looks tired and needs some touching up, yet the rooms are spacious, functional and clean, and the bed is comfortable. There is an issue with dampness in walls though it is not too serious. If you look for a budget place to sleep at night, this is the place for you.

A Perfect Day at The Bedingfeld Arms! What a truly wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, The Bedingfeld Arms delivered exactly what we were hoping for—and more. Nestled in a charming location, it felt like a gentle escape into the countryside, with just the right mix of warmth and ease. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. We lingered over our meal, not wanting it to end! The rooms were just what we needed: cozy, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed. It was so lovely to wake up refreshed and step out into such a peaceful setting. While some might wish for a slightly more “posh” or traditional pub feel—Tom did miss the classic old-world touches like dark walnut floors and the scent of oak smoke in the air—we both appreciated the light, airy ambiance and modern comfort. It’s clear The Bedingfeld Arms has found its own style, and it’s working beautifully. Altogether, it was a delightful, cheerful, and refreshing day, and we’re so glad we chose to spend it here. The suite that I was given was amazing. It had heater and all other amenities. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I will definitely come back

Booked for one night to go to the football at Carrie road which is about 15min walk from hotel town centre is about 20min walk, it is easy to get to from the station just a short walk, arrived and some other guests let me in at first as the manager was not there, he arrived a few minutes later and quickly booked quests in, very easy process he showed me were I was staying as staying the other side of hotel, told me if I had any problems to ring the number on the paper stuck to the back of the door, and if I wanted to use the WiFi the code was also there. Room was small but had a shower toilet and sink as well as a hairdryer and clothes rack. There was also a kettle with tea and coffee facilities. Overall place was clean and tidy I stayed in the top part at the front it was a pleasant stay.

Las toallas municipales estaban limpias, el hotel estaba caliente pero debido a que no podía ajustar el calor en la habitación ( reglas de la casa ) era insoportablemente caliente, así que tuvimos que abrir la ventana - no hay consideración del personal del restaurante junto al hotel Como estaban tirando cosas en las cajas de abajo de nuestra habitación a las 12:00. Por lo tanto, mi compañero tenía un sueño extremadamente roto, no se sentía descansado y se agotó el día siguiente, pero bueno para lo que es y probablemente mejor para viajar de negocios solo, ya que el hotel puede proporcionar auriculares. El número del hotel, tal como se recomendó antes de la entrada, llamó tres veces pero no contestó así tuvo que llamar la campana dos veces antes de entrar, el personal parecía desafortunado de responder a la puerta y ligeramente desagradable ( esto era a las 5 pm )

Las habitaciones del hotel son espaciosas y la vista del estadio es magnífica, como si estuvieras en el estadio. La conexión Wi-Fi en la habitación es fluida. No hay zapatillas ni cepillos de dientes en la habitación. Si es necesario, puede conseguirlos en la recepción. El personal de la recepción es amable y simpático. Las instalaciones del hotel son promedio, solo hay un MiniGym, que realmente es un mini gimnasio, pero lo mejor es que no hay nadie que te compita. El desayuno está bien, puedes pedir huevos fritos y tortitas por encargo, y el personal de recepción del restaurante es muy amable. Hay supermercados Morrisons, b&m, Nike, H&M, Next, Boots, etc. cerca del hotel. Es muy conveniente ir de compras. También está convenientemente ubicado cerca de la estación de tren. Puede tomar un tren o autobús hasta el centro de la ciudad. Si desea viajar, puede caminar hasta el centro de la ciudad a través de Riverside, lo cual es muy conveniente. Sólo se tarda media hora en llegar al zoológico en taxi. Merece la pena visitar el zoológico porque puedes ver los animales de cerca.

Hotel gut gelegen, sauber und ruhig, Frühstück sehr reichhaltig und von guter Qualität, Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit. Zimmer von der Größe recht bescheiden, besonders das Bad!
