«I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. The room had no heating, so it became quite cold during the night and was uncomfortable to sleep in. I requested a portable heater, but it took over an hour for one to be brought to the room. While the staff eventually helped, the long wait and lack of heating made the stay much less comfortable than expected.»

«I had a very pleasant stay. The location is excellent just a short walk from the train station and within easy reach of the city centre and riverside areas. The hostel was clean, well organised, and felt safe throughout my stay. My room was simple but comfortable, with clean bedding and sufficient storage space. The shared bathrooms were well maintained and regularly cleaned. The staff were friendly, professional, and happy to help with directions and local tips, which made settling in very easy. I also appreciated the communal areas, which were relaxed and suitable for catch up with other travellers or just unwinding after a day of sightseeing. Overall, this hostel offers very good value for money and is a great choice for budget-conscious travellers visiting the city.»

«The room was very tidy and nice. They had all the amenities, including soap, body wash, shampoo, tea, and instant coffee. They even had coffee pots. Towels were changed everyday too. There is no hair dryer, but they gave me enough towel to dry my long hair thoroughly though. The room I stayed was an attic room, with slanted ceiling, but I loved it because I could see the sky. There were blinders too, so the sun in the morning was not a worry for me. The room looks very much like a dorm, so there was a table that I can work on, with closet that I can hang my suits on too. It wasn't the cleanest, it had some spider webs in the corner of the room, but they were really in the corner and I was staying only to sleep, so it didn't bother me as much. I would definitely recommend the place for business travelers looking for a cheap accommodation in the middle of Cambridge University.»

«My stay at Novotel Cambridge was extremely disappointing due to serious cleanliness issues. Upon checking into Room 205, I discovered visible blood stains on the duvet. This is not a minor oversight — it is a basic hygiene failure. Clean bedding is the absolute minimum standard any guest should expect. Finding blood stains immediately raised concerns about the room being properly cleaned and inspected. I reported the issue and was informed that the bedding had been cleaned again. However, when I returned to check, the stains were still there. This was both frustrating and alarming, as it suggested a lack of proper quality control within housekeeping. Only after escalating the matter was it properly addressed. Charlotte, the manager, eventually upgraded us to an executive room and provided complimentary breakfast, which I appreciate. However, this does not change the fact that the initial room condition was unacceptable and should never have happened in the first place. An upgrade is a service recovery gesture — it does not erase the hygiene concern or the distress caused at the start of our stay. I hope the hotel seriously reviews its cleaning procedures and room inspection standards to prevent future guests from experiencing the same issue. Unfortunately, based on cleanliness alone, I would not rate this stay highly.»

«Stayed 3 nights so that we could visit family and friends in the area. Booked a twin room which had adequate space for 2 of us and separate area with small table and chairs if needed. Beds were comfortable and the room was warm (once I was shown how to activate the heating) Unfortunately the bathroom was very cold as the hotel boiler needed repair so the radiator wasn’t working. Otherwise we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is quite dated and in need of an upgrade which is on the planning. The staff were super friendly and helpful, especially when I realised I’d left my own personal pillow on the bed. They tracked it down and a friend collected for me the next day. Definitely stay agin when next in the area.»

«Had a comfortable stay at the ibis in Cambridge. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The best thing is the location — it’s right next to the train station, which makes it really convenient. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room has a great view too. There’s a bar open 24 hours and a nice lounge area on the first floor to sit and relax. No complaints at all. I’d happily stay here again.»

«Este apartamento está en una zona nueva de Cambridge, a poca distancia en coche de la zona turística central. Parece que hay una parada de autobús al lado, pero no la supe con atención porque conducía solo. El hotel ofrece aparcamiento gratuito para los huéspedes, lo cual es muy bueno. La entrada al aparcamiento subterráneo es un poco mágica, hay que rodearla por el camino lateral. Hay un ascensor en el estacionamiento para registrarse en el piso G. La señora y el hermano de la recepción se mostraron muy entusiasmados y presentaron las instalaciones y usos del hotel. La habitación del apartamento es más grande de lo esperado y la ropa de cama es limpia y cómoda. Hay una gran mesa de comedor en el salón para cenar y trabajar. La cocina está totalmente equipada con todos los utensilios, pero la estufa calienta muy lentamente y requiere paciencia. El horno se siente complicado de usar y no sé cómo usarlo. Como llegué muy tarde, solo hice unos fideos. La cocina abierta tiene una lavadora que combina lavado y secado. Esto fue de gran ayuda. Lavé toda la ropa que había guardado para unos días. El hotel fue muy atento y me proporcionó bloques para lavar la ropa y para lavar los platos. Hay dos baños muy grandes en la suite, lo cual es muy bonito. El baño del dormitorio principal usa una cortina de ducha para separar el área de la ducha. Aunque hay una barrera de agua en el piso, el flujo de agua aún se acumula alrededor del inodoro en la esquina del baño, lo que lo hace un poco vergonzoso. Lo que se puede ver desde la ventana es el apartamento de enfrente y la vista es el edificio. La habitación está dispuesta al final de un largo pasillo, lo que le da una sensación de fitness al entrar y salir. En general, fue una experiencia de alojamiento satisfactoria.»

«Excellent hotel, beautifully appointed, amazing location, everything is perfect! The Lobby/Lounge/Bar area is wonderful for a drink, dinner or just to hang out a relaxing time. Everything is walkable from here with lots of restaurant options and perfectly located for an evening walk along the River Cam. Our room was spacious, clean and extremely comfortable with state of the art facilities.»
