Hoteles con Wifi en Scottish Borders, Reino Unido

I went with my kids, mid-20s and 16yrs, for a night away from Edinburgh just before Xmas. It was a Sunday, so it was quiet. The distance makes it easy to escape to for an overnighter. We went mostly for spa and gym, and we weren't disappointed. The gym, pool area, sauna and changing rooms were very clean and well- equipped and all in working order. The facilities are open till 10pm, and the best thing is we could use it after we checked out at 11am the folliwing day. Best thing about facilities for us was sauna and spay jets, so relaxing and came away feeling fantastic. The bar meal we had was excellent, the nachos were awesome and gluten- free options were clearly labelled, while the waitress also checked with the kitchen. Pizzas were great but we couldn't finish them and they boxed the remainder. Cocktails were very well presented, looked fab. Every staff member was helpful and friendly. Rooms were comfortable and clean, although the decor was bland and furniture was a little tired- looking. Still, we loved the squeaky floorboards. The Christmas decorations were lovely but not over- the- top. We will definitely spread the word and we will return.

Upon arrival the receptionist was super friendly, however key handed over and leaflet given with all information - not explained. Pointed towards the stairs as lift is broken…surprising given the hotel is ‘disabled friendly’?! Room was clean but very tired, the photos on here are 100% not of the hotel we visited! Breakfast day 1 - we were on b&b rate, continental options are self serve but you choose hot options from a menu. Pretty much all options have a £5 supplement, apart from cooked breakfast and cooked vegan breakfast. Even then the server managed to get our order wrong. I would hate to think of the situation if an allergy was involved! Coffee/tea was included, however that’s ok if you like drinking warm TAR….again latte/cappuccino bears a supplementary charge! Upon arrival back at the hotel after a day out we found our room had been rushed to be ‘cleaned/made up’ - it appeared they were in a hurry as only half complete. Dirty glasses/coffee mugs remained and not much of an effort to make the bed look presentable, shocking. We asked regarding evening meal times and were told ‘it will finish when last reservation is done’ - that was enough to sway us from making any reservation, it had a cold feel to it with nobody present…who knows if there even were any reservations! Breakfast day 2 - same situation as the day before except this time the snotty older lady decided to be awkward when my husband ordered his cooked breakfast and made it super clear to me a supplement would apply to mine - they made sure they got every single penny possible from guests! Toaster not working but no direction given on this, we overheard another couple asking… Second MacDonald we’ve stayed in and won’t return, the standard is not as it once was. Nobody at any point asked how our stay was or if the breakfast was ok…I guess they knew what the answer would be…

The bedside lamp in our bedroom wasn’t working when we arrived and my heart sank as it has been my experience that,no matter what is said by staff, any fault will not be fixed! Happily the Tontine staff came up trumps and around half an hour later it was sorted and working. Excellent! Our bed was extremely comfy, everything was lovely and clean and kept at a very comfortable temperature. We loved the dining room and our breakfast was extremely tasty. All staff met were very friendly and we would happily return in the future!

La casa es muy vieja, comparada con otros spas y hoteles de primeras similares. Por ejemplo, me quedé en la casa de Dunked, fue noche y día. El personal es grande, pero el lugar necesita mucho dinero gastado en ella. En nuestra habitación 317 teníamos una televisión que tenía la mitad de la pantalla más oscura que la otra mitad, bueno que no fuimos aquí para ver la tela. Los grandes pasos que se llevan abajo del frente son peligrosos para las personas mayores, están envueltos y en un muy, muy, ”nota el bien” mal estado de los asuntos para decir lo menos. Me quedaría aquí otra vez, probablemente no hasta que el lugar haya sido mejorado. Mirando lo que he visto del hotel, esto va a llevar millones de libras a hacer. Me disfruté del arqueo, la niña suave fue una gran ayuda. Para ser justo, el personal es adorable, pero las cosas realmente necesitan mejorar en el lado del hotel.

La mejor hospitalidad. Desde la entrada hasta el salir, el equipo es cálido y bienvenido y nada es demasiado difícil. Para cenar, tuvimos peces y chips en el bar, que fue el mejor que he probado desde hace mucho tiempo -y grandes porciones. El desayuno era tan increíble. Aparcamiento gratuito y seguro, Gracias a todos por un estupendo estancia. Estabamos allí para ver la historia familiar de mi marido y hijas. La próxima vez - También traeré a mi marido juntos !

We came here for a 3 night stay as a couple and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel building and decor is beautiful and very cosy. The rooms are pristine and welcome gifts of chocolate truffles, shortbread and whisky were a nice touch. The hotel staff are very friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. We had afternoon tea in the restaurant on one of the days, which was lovely and they were very accommodating with dietary requirements. Nearby Peebles has nice shops, places to eat and a lovely circular walk to Neidpath Castle and Viaduct. We also did a day trip to Edinburgh. The grounds that the hotel is in make for a very peaceful and relaxing stay and we would very much hope to return. Thank you.

Hotel was ideal for an overnight stay to meet up with family for the day. The hotel interior is lovely, with an informal feel. The room was small but very clean and comfortable. The staff are really nice. Really close to everything in Peebles. Parking in Peebles is very limited so it’s great that they have a private car park. Lovely breakfast with quality food.
