Klelia Beach Hotel by Zante Plaza

This is a fabulous hotel. We are here now, I am writing this review from our balcony with sea views. With a coffee in hand. The staff are wonderful, the can’t do enough for you. There is plenty of choice of food for everyone, drinks are plenty full. The rooms are spotless, cleaned every day. It’s that good we are coming back in September.

Just arrived home from our weeks stay here and thought I’d give a review with our honest thoughts. We booked Klelia beach as we needed an all inclusive for our daughter who has a food allergy and eating out abroad has been challenging in the past. So I emailed the hotel and alerted them to this in advance. Arrived at the hotel at 9:20pm to a lovely reception area and quick check in where the lady told us where our room was. I asked about food as we’d had a long day of travel only to be told the restaurant closed at 9 so we’d have to go up the street to find food. Luckily after enquiring in three restaurants we found one which could feed our daughter safely. This further annoyed us when a few days later we were sat in reception at 9:45pm when another couple checked in and were told the restaurant was closed up but that they’d kept plates of food warm for them!! Our room was very small and not very impressive for a an upgraded ‘superior’ room but I was so glad I’d paid extra to upgrade as the thought of what the standard rooms were like was depressing. The room is absolutely fine for a standard for two people but no space for three people and three suitcases etc. we made do though and had no issues with noise etc. the lovely cleaner was in every day and left fresh towels etc. The view of the mountains was lovely and peaceful. The pool at Klelia is lovely! Not too cold to get into and different depths. Our daughter spent most days playing in the water while we sunbathed. Plenty of loungers for the amount of guests and even if we didn’t come down til after lunch we still managed to get three loungers and an umbrella so very grateful for that as some hotels don’t have enough for the amount of guests. Pool area is clean and peaceful there is music from the bar but it isn’t too loud or annoying. The hotel has pool toys in a basket at the exit of reception which guests left behind and you can use them for free which was handy. Also seemed like the floaties didn’t belong to anyone as different people were using them most days so check the pool area first before buying new ones! All inclusive food was absolutely fine. Good choice at all mealtimes and plenty of salads as well as hot food. Huge thanks to chef Nico who came out every day to advise what our daughter could have and offered to make her something else if she didn’t fancy any of the food but she always found something to eat and that was our biggest concern so would definitely recommend for anyone with allergies although not for anyone who is allergic to cats as there were 2/3 cats who regularly visit the restaurant but cause no issues and our daughter loved them. George on the bar makes a nice pina colada and Angela’s iced latte was lovely. Both included on the all inclusive. The area is nice, a short walk to the small beach and also the cat cafe which again our daughter loved visiting. Arrived at the hotel and had a problem with the room, manager was unhelpful and rude, absolutely no customer care skills. Generally the hotel is clean and food good, rooms good but in need of updating. Angela in the restaurant is a very kind and caring person.

I have just had a week at this hotel . The room was perfect we had a view of the mountains and the sea . The maids came every day and they were lovely . The beds were comfortable and we could always have a warm shower . The restaurant and bar staff were nice . I met Antalyia on my arrival and she was lovely . George was there in the afternoon and he was nice too . The food was delicious. The hot plate had some interesting meals . The second beach along is nicer and it’s 5 mins walk away . There are some shops , bars and restaurants to the left from the hotel . We had a great time here

Stayed in October 2024. My opinion? Don't go with expectations of 4* luxury and you will be fine. Were there issues which need fixing? Absolutely, but overall we had a great time in a beautiful location and in comfortable surroundings. Reading some of the reviews it is clear that some expect everything to be perfect, but in what is, at the end of the day, a reasonably priced hotel. Location? Great, with just a five minute walk to a beautiful beach with crystal clear water, sandy underfoot and very gently sloping for about 80m where the water was still chest high. Even in October the water temperature was incredibly warm for swimming. The beach here is a protected area for turtle nesting - sadly didn't manage to see any during our stay but several nests were still awaiting hatchlings and these are each covered by a wooden cage to avoid trampling. There is a very good snack and drink shack just above the beach serving filled rolls, sodas, beers, coffee or fresh fruit, but this was closed towards the end of our stay. Be careful when using the shack as the access from the beach is via some pretty awkward steps. Prices however were very reasonable and the coffee frappe was outstanding! No public toilets on the beach, so a strong bladder may be required, especially for the ladies, although facilities are available at the Crystalle Hotel if you are a customer at their bar or restaurant On arrival at the hotel, the lady receptionist was great, taking payment for the tourist tax politely and efficiently (standard in Greece and many other countries) - 7 Euro per night. Cash preferred as it has to be accounted for separately and paid directly to the government (again standard practice). We were given our key and wristbands and directions to our room (903 in the Annex building across the road. The room was actually far better than expected - twin beds with nice firm mattresses and pillows, as we prefer, nicely decorated, with plenty of hanging space for a few days' clothes, a kettle, coffee sachets and sugar packs. Milk and a bottle of water would have been good too, but there are plenty of small supermarkets nearby, so no problem to buy these and keep them in the fridge provided in the room. As a bonus, there is also a small terrace/balcony with a table and chairs to drink that early morning coffee. The bathroom is perfectly adequate, with twin basins, a walk in shower and decent flushing toilet - although there is a special place in hell for whoever decided that glass saloon doors at the entrance to a bathroom is a good thing. Nevertheless we are adults, and so long as you announce your intentions and give your partner the option to adjourn to the balcony for the duration this isn't too much of a problem! Locally, in addition to a couple of supermarkets, there are several other small shops and a number of bars and restaurants, and the main 'strip' is a short 5 minute walk away with countless others - a recommendation here for Dafni's, for good value, gr

Just back from a very enjoyable two weeks at Klelia. We have been at this hotel several times but this time was the best. Rooms were refurbished and the beds so comfortable. The maids were in our room every day leaving it spotlessly clean, bed and towels changed regularly. The maids ,ours Alida,was brilliant any problems she got them sorted right away. The food was amazing something for everyone especially Sunday when turkey, roast pork and massive Yorkshire puddings. The staff in the restaurant so friendly and helpful, Nikos,both, Anzela plus all the others sorry I can't remember names. George at the bar kept everyone happy always a big smile. The pool was cleaned every evening was cold but when your in it cooled you. The reception staff were also helpful showing people to their rooms and sorting any problems or queries. A big thanks to all at Klelia hopefully we will be back next year.
