Travelodge York Monks Cross

Here for a few days for work... Great hotel with a really friendly atmosphere, staff were amazing, particularly Sue and Cami, thank you for an amazing stay, Sue and Cami couldn't do enough to make sure my time at the hotel was as good as possible

Great service in the bar and on reception from Sue and Cami. Friendly atmosphere and the food was good. Good selection on the bar too. The room was very clean and the Aircon was a nice surprise! The location was just a bit outside of the town centre, but there's a park and ride nearby that makes it easy to get into town.

I have stayed here before, and it always meets my expectations. This evening I was met by a lovely lady on reception called 'Sue', she was warm and welcoming, and made my arrival just a bit nicer than normal. Room is fine, clean and modern. Well done Travelodge, you have got this one right.

Book for work Nice location was greeted buy Sue when we arrived and she got us sorted then took drink and food order for us. Very friendly and was always smiling. Food was good and staff wes very friendly will book again next time I'm working here

Travelodge at Monks Cross is what appears to be a new build with it's own dedicated carpark near a retail park in the north part of York. This was the first Travelodge that we have been to in many years and I cannot state how it exceeded our expectations. The rooms are basic with king size bed, tv, shower etc but the big surprise was the breakfast area and the breakfast itself. The area for breakfast was clean and constantly getting tidied up by the staff. The selection of breakfast item are what you expect from a £10 breakfast and they were all perfectly cooked and because they were getting refilled constantly, no-one went short. For a budget hotel with breakfast of this standard, I cannot see how they can improve this for the price that we paid without loosing money. Next time we come to York, this will be our hotel of choice!

We booked to stay here. The room was clean and tidy However when we went to dinner the meal deal which is good value £14.50 for main,side or dessert. Ordered the pizza but were unable to change it to the meal deal. They could not cancel our order as their system would not let them. There was no indication anywhere that we had to state we wanted the meal deal, and we should have been asked at point of payment if we wanted to take this deal. Would have expected some leeway to enable us to change our order.
