This is one of the older Premier Inns. The accommodation is in several different buildings so I can only comment on the Norman block, which is clean but pretty dated. My room was really dark - just a small window in the eaves, and the lights in the room weren’t great - one kept flickering then went out. Both the WiFi and the 4g/5g signal were dire, and not all the freeview channels worked on the TV. The air conditioning was okay- it mostly worked. The shower worked well but again was old- the shower gel holder was rusted. There was, at times, a smell at the toilet. On the plus side, there’s always plenty of room and the bed is always comfortable. Plenty of sockets although no USB sockets, so definitely bring a plug. It was also very quiet. I, and several other people tried to gain access through the front of the hotel on first arrival, but the reception is at the rear and you either need to use your keycard or wait to be buzzed in, which didn’t seem to happen much- if Premier Inn stated this in the website it would save people a walk. The hotel is literally 2 minutes walk from the train station. But, I wouldn’t stay here again. I’d pay a little more and book the new Premier Inn which is about 20 seconds walk up the street.
