ordered fish chips x 2 1 x pizza pizza was burnt black on the base and uncooked on top i complained and asked for another one young man serving us said that they would not do me another one because chef said that's how they come i then asked for a sweet menu , after ten minutes nothing came asked again no menu third time he had taken an order from the next table and i called him HE TURNED TO ME MY WIFE AND FRIEND ALL 78 YEARS OLD AND SHOUTED IN A RAGE IN THE MIDDLE OF A CROWDED RESTAURANT, CANT YOU SEE I AM SERVING ANOTHER CUSTOMER YOU IMPATIENT ======== slapped he bill on our table still in a rage and said THERES YOUR BILL AND YOU ARE BARED FROM HERE LOUD AND IN FRONT OF ALL THE CUSTOMERS WE WERE SO EMBARRASS WE LEFT WITH OUR BRINKS STILL ON THE TABLE

My wife had fish and chips. Battered fish clearly cooked from frozen and was soggy and undercooked. Chef said it was good. I had pork, tasty with nice but meagre sauce, so dry. Much was made in the menu of the crackling. This looked like an ice cream fan wafer, clearly bought in, and literally inedible. The waiter said leaving a tip ‘optional’. So I didn’t add one, only to later discover that menu prices were not charged prices. Menu prices are inflated by 10% on the bill. This was stated at the head of the menu, in fine print…. Will I ever go there again? Guess

Wow, just been for lunch, sat in the beer garden at the back of the pub, outside bar and kitchen were a real bonus, 8 of us walked in with no booking, after the place we had booked in Yarmouth let us down. Absolutely no problem was the response from the lady who served us, all the staff were really friendly apart from the girl on the outside bar who looked a little unhappy.. food was amazing, we had burgers, chicken burgers, and roasts all absolutely excellent, the roast beef was one of the best I’ve had, and clear plates all round. I have to say apart from the barmaid outside I couldn’t fault the staff, service was excellent, and the lady with glasses who seemed to be in charge was so helpful and friendly. Well done the Bugle we will be back again, but next time we’ll book

My review has been removed for some reason unknown! Worst meal ever. Cancelled main course having survived the starter. Do not eat here.. starter was inedible and mouldy. Waiting staff were very nice and had to deal with the complaint. The chef should have dealt with the complaint but was nowhere to be seen. This should be a great establishment due its location. Such a shame the food was such a disappointment

Room 5 was horrendous- dirty and water-stained walls, shower old and mouldy, shower head holder broken, so small we could hardly fit to go into the bathroom, curtains broken.We complained but they didn’t have any other rooms. Worse stay on the Isle of Wight.

Food was horrendous. Vegan Bolognaise. No seasoning at all, when asked if we could have some we were told it was vegan and given some oil. Ploughman’s bread was just defrosted, onions were off. Weren’t told of optional 10% service charge. Such a shame.

Good location, but the hotel is not updated. The bath had a tub and hand held shower. There is no lift, so being on the top floor was difficult after a long day of walking. All staff were nice. Eating in the pub was convenient and it seemed to be a fun place for locals.

Already written a review but for some reason it does not show when checking reviews. Worst meal we have ever had. Steak very very chewy & pricey for a tough bit of meat, pizza burnt - one third burnt had to be cut off & left on plate, lasagne totally tasteless & I only ate three forkfuls. Nobody checked out table during the meal & they even had the audacity to add 10% service charge (voluntary)after I’d told the waitress clearing the table how disappointed we were. Wish we’d only gone in for a drink as pub is quite quirky & drinks were ok. Manager looked a misery & that was before I had a moan. It was the worst part of our holiday & definitely would not recommend eating there.

We've known the Bugle for decades. Probably a lot more hits than misses, but a few downs over the years. If you want lunch in Yarmouth early January, you are confronted with every hassle possible. Chef on holiday/shut for refurb/rather expensive/packed up/shut for some reason unknown, so we opted Bugle as pretty well our only choice. It was a family birthday. Would it work or would we be disappointed? I can say that we had a great time. Happy staff. Good food. Fair prices. You can only speak as you find. It wasn't massively busy. Tough times still for everybody in the trade. Great to get a good result and have a really enjoyable lunch. The Bugle probably offers something for everybody at reasonable prices.
