The receptionist/manager arranged this after noticing I was traveling with two large suitcases, which I really appreciated.
The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The location is excellent—Dong Guan Jie is just a one-minute walk away, making it very convenient for food and sightseeing.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout my stay, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend this Mercure Hotel to others.»

2026 Global 100 - Hoteles Gastronómico«If you visit Yangzhou, this is the only hotel I recommend anyone to stay at. It has the gorgeous Chinese garden that spreads out for miles. I stayed in building 3 (the only building offered on the internet when I booked). The hotel is connected (walk over the bridge) to the Slender Lake. Staff were very courteous and helpful. My room was tidied up everyday. Breakfast was not include in the room rate but there is a Starbuck nearby where I had my morning coffee and pastry. The room has a balcony, overlooking some trees and other building. Most of the restaurants/eateries were closed (probably due to low season). However, there are a lot of local restaurants in the old town area and Guan Dong Street; it costs about 10 Yuans to take a taxi to get there.»

一個人旅遊 最怕的就是麻煩 城際的服務 真的是讓我倍感温暖 到達酒店時 就有叔叔熱情接待 還幫忙拎了箱子 對於獨自旅行的人來説 一些幫忙的小舉動更能觸動內心 前台小姐姐也十分熱情 一路給我送到房間門口 加了聯繫方式 還給我發了一些温馨提示和旅遊攻略 吃早餐的服務更是沒話説 所有的工作人員都是眼裡有活 有問必答 甚至主動熱心詢問 我根本沒有一個人吃飯的不自在和尷尬 酒店還有助洗服務 去洗衣房洗衣服時 發現前面人還沒洗完 等了半天 不想等了 就拿了洗衣服的小卡片 留下了房間號 後來想着不放心 還是要跟阿姨説一下 阿姨人很好 問我洗的時候需不需要注意 洗好了放哪裡 最後阿姨送到房間時 天色不早了 甚至還關懷我有沒有吃晚飯 早上我出門準備自己去閑逛時 阿姨還向我道了早上好 在一樓打車時 叔叔還會問車打到沒 幫忙拉車門 對比同價位的酒店 這家在酒店服務這一塊 可以説是天花板了 因為自己的工作也有服務性質 我也能感受到 這樣高的服務水準是多麼難得 不是假模假式的客氣 而是真正的為客人們考慮 因為真誠 所以被看到 被推薦
酒店本身也很乾凈 我是敏感肌 但睡了兩夜沒有什麼問題 床墊枕頭也很舒服 房間裏五臟俱全 甚至還有體重秤！無比細心！酒店早飯也很豐富 種類很多 還有當地特色 如果硬是要説什麼問題 可能就是房間 本身的隔音 靠馬路一側的會稍微差點 已反饋 酒店的回覆也很及時

«I had a very pleasant stay. The service was warm and welcoming from the moment I arrived. The staff were polite and always ready to help. The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly what I needed for a relaxing break. The facilities were well maintained, and I really liked the cozy atmosphere of the hotel. I also enjoyed the food; everything was fresh and nicely prepared.
The manager, Brian, was extremely helpful and communicated very fluently in English. He gave me great suggestions for places to visit during my trip and recommendations on where to shop so I could fully enjoy the city. I will definitely return with friends, and this will be our hotel of choice. The location is also ideal.»

Fantástico, que la gente se sienta muy caliente, el servicio es super esperado! ¡La ubicación es excelente, salir es la calle Dongguan, y viajar a la calle de Chen es muy conveniente para comer. Especialmente como el diseño de la habitación, los detalles están llenos de detalles y la luz es muy buena. La abuela Guangzhou está muy bien limpia, los suministros de un solo hotel son muy útiles, no sólo viviendo cómodamente, sino que también se sienten intimados, vale la pena cinco estrellas! La vista nocturna alrededor es superbe, el precio está lleno directamente, ¡venga a Yangzhou para la primera opción!»

What really made the stay special was the amazing service. Honestly, it felt like I was staying in a hotel way beyond 5 stars. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and I want to give a big shoutout to 小杰 — He was incredibly warm, attentive, and made me feel so welcomed. You can tell she genuinely cares about the guests and goes the extra mile.
If I ever visit Yangzhou again, I’ll definitely be staying here. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a great experience!»

Ruan Yuan's ancestral home was in Yizheng, Jiangsu Province. He was born in a family of officials in Yangzhou in the 29th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign. His grandfather was a military scholar and served as a general in Hunan. His father entered the imperial academy at a young age and studied "Zuo's Spring and Autumn Annals", becoming a master of classical prose. His mother, Lin, also came from an official family and was well-versed in poetry and literature, with good cultivation. Growing up in such a family, Ruan Yuan was influenced by his family's learning from an early age and gradually became a renowned talent in both literature and martial arts. At the age of 25, Ruan Yuan passed the imperial examination and entered the officialdom. Ruan Yuan not only held high positions but was also a staunch guardian of Yangzhou's culture. He compiled "Jingji Zanggu" and edited and printed "Thirteen Classics with Commentaries and Sub-commentaries", his cultural achievements shining like stars in Yangzhou's cultural heritage.
Mr. Ruan Yuan dedicated his life to cultural inheritance and academic research. The "Jingji Zanggu" he compiled collected the essence of ancient annotations and interpretations, providing an important basis for later generations to study classics. The "Thirteen Classics with Commentaries and Sub-commentaries" he edited and printed, with its rigorous academic attitude in correcting classics, became an important model for the study of classics. The "Huangqing Jingjie" he compiled and printed was a comprehensive collection of Qing Dynasty's research on classics.
