Peaceful, comfortable stay in a well-equipped safari tent in a paperbark forest, next to a wild creek. Canoes and bikes available at no extra charge. Food was outstandingly good! Locally sourced, top quality and prepared with flair. Service excellent and nothing too much trouble. From firepits at night, to alpaca rugs in the safari tents, cold nights not a problem. Close to coast and townships, but with a totally isolated feeling. Would have given it 5 Stars except for one personal problem - mosquitoes. No repellent deters them when it comes to me, and Paperbark Camp does all it can: provides mosquito nets, natural and chemical repellents, burns smoke repellents, etc. Still got eaten alive. So, regretfully, we won't be returning. However, if you're in the area and if you're one of my mob who the mozzies love, don't rule out spending the evening in their delightful lounge/dining room. You can book in for dinner without staying there.
