No1 Hotel

Number one hotel Room 5 - small and a little dark but had everything needed - towels, tea and coffee and a couple of packs of biscuits. The room was very hot when we arrived, turned off the radiator in the bedroom but couldn’t turn off the bathroom radiator, we opened the little window in the bedroom but had to close it as the smells of the kitchen (greasy/fatty) started drifting in. We were able to leave the window open when we returned to our room at 10pm as the kitchen had closed by then. The room is at the back of the hotel and was quiet.a good full length mirror in the room and a small wardrobe (enough to hang a few items of clothing in). Shower was ok, bathroom a little tight to move around in but ok. We both had the full breakfast - not sure what had happened with the scrambled egg as it was boiled egg chopped into pieces - partner had poached egg which looked good.

Lovely place and fabulous staff From the minute we arrived from the fab Norma We were put in a fantastic room and the bed was so comfy! Food in the evening was 100%, as was the service As it was my birthday, there was even a cake, complete with candles. What more could you ask for! Breakfast was every bit as good from the lovely Mandy the next morning after a great sleep. Even the dogs got their own brekkie ❤️ Would definitely return, as the whole stay was perfect. Thank you

Fabulous staff who can’t do enough for u except room service Hot clean and beautiful rooms , 5th years coming and just as enjoyable Location is fabulous and not far from various costal places including Alnwick , Bamburg etc Great golfing and walking area

Went for bar meal with friends, worse meal I have ever paid for. Food terrible both starters and main, waited almost 2hrs for main meal. Would never return. Bar staff lovely and very apologetic. Asked for money back after sending back almost for full plates with terrible attitude of no offer of discount.

This is not a hotel, it’s a pub with rooms. We stayed in a loft room which was very dated, need painting in parts especially bathroom. Blinds on windows would have helped for a better sleep and not wake with morning light as would new mattress. I would also agree with ensuring that you phone to ensure you have a booking as when we got there, they had given our room away to someone else without a booking. Staff member was heard saying five couples turned up and could not find their reservations. Though we had tried three days to phone with no answer to check ours. That said we were given complimentary drink while waiting for them to sort out. Staff nice. Cooked breakfast nice, small bar of cereal, toast etc. They need to get a better booking system, which would help, I’m sure.

Would highly recommend location great right in the middle of the town,room tremendous and food was excellent, with very large portions cooked to perfection.staff very friendly will definitely stay again, thank you very much for a wonderful stay
