Woodbury Park Hotel & Spa

Booked a 2 night stay for a birthday through trip.com…called hotel direct too inform them of our stay & asked if we needed to book restaurant for evening meals but told no we can do that when we arrive, booked a treatment for myself & hubby…upon arrival we were told restaurant was only available for the 1st evening of our stay & breakfast is available at an extra fee… The food was terrible…Evening meal was a Sirloin, handful of chips & salad leaves at a price of £23, no onion rings or mushrooms etc etc offered with this meal & the steak over cooked, breakfast was worse, bacon chewy, scrambled egg watery, no baked beans & to top it off they charge £10 for full English or £6 for continental, in my opinion & previous stays at other hotels breakfast is complimentary with the room or if a extra fee is asked at least you can get continental & cooked breakfast, I literally paid £10 for bacon,sausage,hash brown, scrambled egg & mushrooms which was all over cooked… The room was a bit tired with décor & bathroom had no ventilation so after shower became very steamy so you couldn’t see well in the bathroom itself… Phone call on the morning of my 2nd day to be told that due to staff sickness they had to cancel our spa treatments…due to being a birthday treat this is the only reason we stayed at the hotel so we could use spa facilities & have a special day… Some staff were pleasant but others came across a bit rude, maybe due too staff shortages so therefore a bit tired but the industry you work in requires a smile & politeness at all times… Overall my stay was not a pleasant one resulting in us leaving shortly after breakfast & not wanting to stay another night…currently waiting to hear about a refund for the night we didn’t stay☹️☹️☹️

Had a lovely weekend at Woodbury park. We have stayed twice now. Enjoyed the swimming complex & our rooms have been nice both stays. Sat outside & watched the golf & had lunch. Nice views, relaxing & the food was good as well. Would recommend this for a weekend.

I had an enjoyable overnight stay here recently. Plenty of parking and an impressive building from the outside. My room was lovely. Large and spotlessly clean and really quiet during the night ensuring a great nights sleep. The food in the restaurant was good quality and reasonably priced. No complaints at all.

I had been looking forward to staying at this 4* hotel when attending a wedding nearby. The Atrium facing room was an ok size but dim lighting and only one large towel and a hand towel. Neither of great quality. The window looked out over the Atrium, and only had a roller blind which meant light came in each side. The lights in the Atrium are left on all night! The window is single glazed and so noise from the seating/dining/bar was high. In addition the walls between each bedroom are thin and I was kept awake each night by snoring and bathroom noises. Before arriving I’d called to book a table in the restaurant as it looked nice on their website. I wasn’t told that there isn’t a restaurant only a “pub/bistro”. It was akin to a Harvester Pub in decor and atmosphere. Food service was slow even for pub style grub. I would not have booked if I’d had known. There were also big groups of golfers staying and dining (understandably as it’s linked to golf course) who were wearing sportswear and drinking and shouting a lot. Each breakfast they were there too, mostly with hangovers. The language and noise was not acceptable for a 4* hotel. Breakfast was repetitive with no choice of eggs or fruit. Very basic indeed with poor quality coffee. Overall I was very disappointed and while the staff were pleasant it’s not a 4* hotel by any means. Not recommended unless you’re a golfer intent on drinking and eating pub grub.

Visited the coffee shop, quick service with friendly staff happy to help. Delicious coffee and light bite menu of your feeling peckish. The venue is nice and clean, with beautiful amenities, swimming pool, gym and spa facilities as well it’s golf course.

Lovely hotel with great amenities. The club house and restaurant stopped serving food at 8pm which was early , considering the bars were open late. The spa facilities were really good and the staff were pleasant The young staff at breakfast were amazing and helpful . Plenty of choice but again breakfast finished Would definitely stay here again .

I cannot for the life of me understand why some people have given bad reviews for this hotel. From booking in to beautiful meals to the pool and hot tubs and fantastic service throughout, this place is amazing. Every member of staff was so pleasant and they couldn’t do enough for you. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely return. I would definitely recommend this beautiful place.

Very disappointed! The clubhouse is not well maintained and was dirty. Tables outside were sticky and dirty (felt like we were at a Wetherspoons!). Food is very mediocre. We had a breakfast and the vegan flora butter they gave us was out of date! When I complained I was told this was the production date, not the use by date and that they've had people raise this as an issue before! When the staff member checked the box, they realised this was in face the use by date. Buut I had no apology!! I've sent an email to the hotel to complain but no reply! I will not be returning to this hotel.

The hotel restaurant customer experience was bad with too few staff doing their best. Food quality was generally bad as evidenced by various customers complaining and even returning plates with food to the kitchen themselves. Some staff gave the impression they were enjoying being unhelpful and rude to customers almost as a challenge.
