The Talbot Inn

The first room was terrible. There was a hole in the window frame what looked like insects on the floor the shower was rusty and mould on the tiles. The hotel does need a lot of TLC. The staff are very nice and very helpful.

Excellent hotel. Good quality service. Stayed overnight.

We were lucky enough to stay here for 2 nights in order to attend a wedding. Our room, although beautiful and quirky, was a little shabby around the edges and the bathroom could do with an update. That having been said we would definitely stay again if in the area. The staff are absolutely amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are honestly the most hard-working and friendly bunch we have ever come across on our travels. The wedding was on site and flowed seemlessly the whole day. Thank you all so much for making a special day even more magical.

Wow! Where do we start? From start to finish, everything about having our wedding at The Talbot was perfect. From the initial reception we received from Krystyna at the wedding fair on a gloomy November day to our actual Wedding Day and beyond, Krystyna, Avand and the whole team including Grace, Lucas, Olivia and all the others who served us and looked after our guests were truly amazing. The recommended suppliers Ether events and DJ2K ( Danny) made the place look and sound magical. We were looked after the whole day with no stress thanks especially to Krystyna who not only organised everything with such precision but also made every planning visit a joy and personally looked after us both so well on the day it was like having your own fairy godmother. Krystyna made us feel so special as though we were the only couple getting married at The Talbot. She really couldn’t do enough for us. The food throughout was delicious and perfectly presented. We found excuses to return the next few days after the wedding as well just to soak up as much joy as we could. In addition the beautiful historical building and value for money too make this the perfect venue for a beautiful wedding.

Me and my Wife had our wedding reception here! It was absolutely amazing! Beautiful setting, great staff and customer service. Food was delicious and Room was clean and comfy. A massive thank you to Krystyna (our wedding coordinator) for all your support and help on the day. Definitely recommend

It is easy to access has plenty of parking and is situated in a historical village with restaurants and a bar. The rooms are well equipped. Just be aware that they don't have a lift so not ideal if you need support to get around. The rooms are well-equipped and comfortable. I managed to have a room with the worst view, they are digging some fields behind the hotel with diggers so something to have in consideration.

After our afternoon ceremony at a local register office, we chose to have our evening wedding reception at The Talbot Inn. We were attracted by the rustic charm of the hotel and the flexible options of the adjoining function rooms. They afforded space for guests to dance, watch others dance whilst seated, sit and chat in a quieter back room, eat from the buffet or drink in the dedicated cosy bar area. We also had use of the pub area and the delightful garden before the evening event started. From initial inquiries to finalising our wishes, staff were very flexible and efficient. It all made for a perfect day.

We had our wedding at The Talbot on 6th September 24 and we can’t thank all the staff enough for all their work and efforts in making this the most perfect day. The day ran absolutely seamlessly, the food was fantastic and we have received so many compliments from friends and family on how lovely the venue was and what an amazing day it was. Krystyna our wedding coordinator was incredible from start to finish, helping us through the planning every step of the way. She was absolutely amazing and was always so happy to help, answer any questions I had and put me at ease the whole step of the way. The bridal suite was lovely and the wedding package they offer is worth every penny! Thank you so much

I often visit Ripley area. Used to live there and often had lunch at the Talbot even once Xmas Day lunch. I needed a treat after a trying couple of weeks so decided to book half board. Normally I say at Travel Inn Woking and eat at local restaurants and breakfast at cafe Beirut Ripley ( Great coffee croissants and full breakfast if wanted ). The room was in the stable block! and was clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower had red tape fixing the shower head to the supporting upright making it impossible to have a hand held shower. I cut this off. Dinner was acceptable but far from impressive. There was a limit on the spend of £33. Not mentioned in the booking details. Couldn't get much fro £33. Breakfast was a disaster. I arrived at 9.40 am for 10 am service finish. A hand waved me to a '' hot and cold buffet''. The hot looked like it had been there since 7 am when service stared. The cold was like something from a British hotel in the '70's. Just awful. Sawdust for museli. Sliced industrial bread to make your own toast. A few bits of fresh fruit in a bowl. Yoghurts in a bowl without any ice.It was simply dreadful. All in all the worst hotel experience I have had in a long while.
