This little motel is a perfect example of what a small town, locally owned motel should be. It is not impressive to look at from the outside but the exterior is neat and well kept. The rooms are small but very clean and everything works. The A/C is extremely quiet although it tends to blow on you which I find uncomfortable. Nevertheless, it cools things down very quickly so I just turn it off when it bothers me and then turn it back on when needed. Showers are hot with good water pressure. Cyclists from the Katy Trail and Rock Island Trail are welcome. Since the single rooms are small, (roughly 13x12), the bed is a full size rather than queen or king. That is perfectly fine with me. I believe the double rooms have two full size beds. The beds are comfortable and completely clean. No worries about bugs at all. My only issue is that, like most motels, the lighting tends to be dim which is makes it difficult for visually impaired people to see well. If you are traveling in the area, I highly recommend this motel. Aside from being a great value, it is better than many expensive brand name motels that I have stayed at. As a side note, some people complain that there isn't someone always at the desk to answer the phone. I stayed an extra day to rest up and observed just how incredibly hard the manager herself works to clean and prepare the rooms for the next guests. That is why the rooms are so nice and the prices are low. The manager is also a very kind person. I was injured on the Katy Trail shortly before arriving so I was badly bruised and a bit bloodied up. She brought me a bag of ice for my bruises, and hydrogen peroxide and cotton balls to clean up the cuts and scrapes. I really appreciated that. She even offered to drive me back to town to have dinner!
